Macbook Pro 2011 problem with windows via bootcamp

I have macbook pro early 2011  and my disk drive not working.
I tried to install windows via bootcamp by an external disk drive but it failed to boot from the windows install disk.
how can i install it?

The Snow Leopard Windows drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk. There is no download for Windows drivers and Snow Leopard.
You should include your computer model and year in your posts. Answers may vary depending on your hardware.
XP is not supported on newer Apple computers. You should install Windows 7.

  • MacBook Pro 2011: Problems with logging in

When my MacBook is starting and I am trying to login to my account, there's only the aurora background without the dock or anything else. I can move the mouse and it seems that I am already logged in but I can't see my harddrive, dock or even the menubar. The only way to turn it off is to push the on/off button once but I could also restart it or log out. This seems to be normal. I don't need any force quits. I only don't see my harddrive, programs, dock basically everything exept my mouse and the default aurora background.
I rebooted from the system DVD and now it works but I'm afraid of getting this issue again in the future.
If there's anybody out who has the sam issue and solved it, please tell me!
    I am using a MacBook Pro 2011
    Quadcore i7 2,3 GHz
    750 GB Harddrive
    8 GB RAM
    Thanks in advance everybody!

As always maintain a backup or two of your data on a external powered drive(s)
Some do one TimeMachine and one "hold option" Bootable clone using something like Carbon Copy Cloner or Superdupers.
The OS and programs can be replaced, but the user data is unique and valuable media, can't be.
Drives are cheap, only $120 or so per 1TB. No reason not to backup data.

  • Late Macbook Pro 2011 won't charge via MagSafe adapter.

My friends Macbook Pro 2011 same as mine wont charge the battery via MagSafe adapter. The battery is good and the adapter also, ive checked them on my Mac. The problem is that on her Mac it won't charge. I've change the MagSafe adapter on her computer and it didn't work still no charge, no green light on the L shaped adapter. Can it be the Logic Board?

Resetting SMC could solve the problem.

  • I don't have any sound and can't adjust the brightness Macbook Pro Mid 2009 with Windows 7 64bit

I installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit in my Macbook Pro Mid 2009 using Bootcamp 5.1.2 and from the beginning the sound is not working and cant adjust the brightness either. Tried installing all the drivers that people recommended from Realtek, nVidia and nothing has help me fixed the problem. is there a way that i could fix those problems?

Look in the Boot Camp system requirements located here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634
Find your computer model and year. I think you will find that you should be using version 4 of the Windows support software.

  • MacBook Pro sleep problems with Vista SP1

Has anyone faced sleep problems on a MacBook Pro after installing Vista SP1?
I run Boot Camp 2.0 with the latest update from Apple.
IDT finally issued a compatible Vista driver for my Sigmatel audio.
I was very happy for the first time running Vista on my Apple when I had the stupid idea to upgrade to SP1.
After days of troubleshooting with Windows support it is obvious that SP1 and my MacBook Pro are incompatible for some obscure reasons. The latest time I tried SP1 was through Windows Update, which means that Windows detected no compatibility issues, such as drivers.
I suspect Apple-in-sight driver without any evidence, just a hint.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Hibernation seems iffy. Have you tried disabling hibernation? and when you say sleep, what happens? won't wake or what?
Normally I don't recommend resetting NVRAM or SMU but for sleep you might want to.
And yes, trying to rule out why can be difficult. But I would not blame SP1. Maybe BC 2.1.
Do you have a book dealing with Vista? or looked for articles or forums that deal with Vista? There is one for Vista64 - assume you have 32-bit though. Google is often best way to find things in Apple discussions or knowledge base, too.

  • 2009 Macbook Pro fan noise with Windows 7

    Hello Apple community,
I'm not sure if I should post this in the bootcamp section or not.
I've recently installed Windows 7 on my mid 2009 MBP. I used OS X Lion to create the bootcamp partiton. Everything installed ok but now my MBP's fan is getting noticably loud whenever I use Windows. I've used OS X Lion, and then Mavericks before installing Windows 7 and the only time I heard the fan that loud was when I was playing a video game or doing something hardware intensive. Once I quite the game the fan would stop being so loud. The fan is not consistantly loud, it subsides for a breif period of time only to go full speed again shortly. But it is loud enough most of the time for it to cause me some concern.
Does anyone have any idea about this issue? Is this a consistant problem with MBP using Windows 7? Should I do an update to OS X Lion? Any adive would be greatly appreicated.
    Rados

    Thanks for replying turostar.
I did as you suggested. I have noticed an improvement in terms of the noise. It isn't as loud for as long a time but every now and then the fan will kick start to make noise again. Is this to be expected?

  • Sharing with Windows via BootCamp

I hope this belongs in this forum and not BootCamp. I just got a MBP and am planning to install Windows to allow me access to my version of PhotoShop and some Windows only presentation software I use (Media Shout and EasyWorship) Anyway, is there a way for me to use iPhotos' great organizational features, but put the images on an external HD that I can also access via Windows? I believe i would need to create folders (nature, family, etc.) in order to have any sort of organization while in Windows. Any thoughts on how to share an iPhoto library with Windows?
    Thanks!

I have a full copy of Photoshop CS2 for windows, will this run sufficently well under either bootcamp / parallels
It will run fine on both of them.
It will run better using Bootcamp/Windows.

  • Macbook Pro bluetooth problems with a Bose sound dock 10

So a while ago I bought my Bose Sound dock 10 and the bluetooth between both my Mac and iPhone has been great. But then OS X Mavericks came out and I start having issues with connecting through bluetooth for the first time. I have to go to the Sound dock and remove the bluetooth port, then put it back in, then try to connect from my Mac again but then having to do the process again. I know this isn't a fault with the Bose product itself as my iPhone 4 connects with absolutely no problems running iOS 7 and as do other Apple products that my family owns.
    I have a 13", Mid 2012 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.3 with bluetooth version 4.2.4f1 13674 (v131 c5492)

@Matthew9391 - here is a great link that helped me get my Bose Sound dock 10 going.

  • Problem installing windows via bootcamp. Driver issue on Mavericks

(Sorry just posted this elsewhere , then found the Bootcamp part of this forum, so i copied it here )
Ok, for the past few days i have  done alot of attempts at finding an exact answer to my problem, but to  no avail. So hopefully as i describe it here , it could help get me  pointed in the right direction.
I  have a late 2009 imac, with Mavericks installed. I have tried  installing windows 7 both 32 & 64, i get the partition done in  bootcamp, reboot process etc , gets to windows install screen, but now  when it searches for its first drivers it cannot find it and i am forced  to exit out and go back to osx etc, and start researching another way  to solve the problem.
I  have read there is a problem with downloading the apple support  software thru bootcamp, so ive done it from the website directly. Am i  correct with the following here ,-- These files put on the thumb drive,  are NOT the drivers for windows, they are to be installed after windows  is installed. Right ?
Recently  i read windows 7 cant be put on mavericks, but that was a thread  related to a different computer and year than mine. So that lead to even  more confusion. So apologies, but i do hope i can get a simple way to  get this completed. I appreciate your time & help in advance.

Ok thanks! just one more question now, should i go out and buy windows xp? i am a college kid who has an opportunity for a free upgrade to windows 7 professional. or should i just go out and buy windows 7 itself? Would downloading the upgrade be a smart option because i may be able to spend less money total? or should i not take a chance on that and just buy the home premium of windows 7?
    thanks!

  • IMessage order on MacBook Pro and problems with iPhone iMessage

    Hi,
I use my iMessage on my MacBook Pro and on my iPhone. In iMessages on my Mac I have it set to use two addresses, my phone number and my icloud email. I have the same on my phone.
When I receive a message it is ordered correctly on my phone with the most recent being shown last and the oldest I need to scroll to the top. But, on my MacBook when I open messages they seem to be ordered all over the place and I need to scroll up sometimes and I find that the most recent is sandwiched between two others in no real time order. Can anyone help me understand and correct this problem.
Also the other day, my iPhone imessage started playing up and randomly ordered the messages ut it has now reverted to the correct format. Please can someone help?
    Thanks
    Matt

Based on information in another answer I tried the following ...
After doing what blueno suggested I did have to reboot.  I then had to provide my password lots of times when I logged in.  That still didn't work so I logged out of my iCloud account in Message and logged back in, repaired, and it worked!
    This is what I did:
    1) Open Key Chain Access ( go to Applications>Utilities)
    2) Select Login at the top left side under Keychains
    3) Select All Items on the lower left side under Category
    4) Search for entries of IDS.
    5) Highlight and delete all entries that has IDS.
    6) Search for entries of FaceTime
    7) Highlight and delete all entries of FaceTime
    8) Search for entries of Messages (I also found entries containing Message (singular, not plural), but didn't delete these.)
    9) Highlight and delete all entries of Messages
    10) Reboot!
    11) Log back in and when requested log back into iCloud account (I got asked for the password multiple times)
    12) Log out of iCloud account in iMessage (Not sure if this is needed)
    13) Log back into iCloud account in iMessage.
    14) On iPhone in Settings/Messages/Text Message Forwarding turn off forwarding to my iMac.
    15) Turn Text Message Forwarding back on for my iMac (re-pairs and I entered the new number)
    16) Could send text messages from my iMac!!!!!
But it was short lived.  One message was sent using SMS (that should have gone through using iMessage and then back to the same error message.  So I am back to square one.

  • MacBook Pro Retina Problems with Headphone jack, Speakers, USB Port, MagSafe 2 and the hard drive

I took my MacBook Pro Retina 2.6GHz i7 to the genius bar to have the headphone jack looked at. I was told they could easily fix it but had to order the part. That day I took it home and returned to the store once I was notified that the part arrived so I could drop it off for repair. 3 days after I dropped my computer off with the genius bar I missed a phone call and returned to my iphone with a new voicemail. It said something like this, "Hello Tim, I just wanted to let you know that we replaced the headphone jack but it turned out not to be the problem and the problem was actually with the logic board. Don't worry though, we went ahead and replaced that for you, however, after that was done, the speakers stopped working but the headphone jack is fixed. We have to order new speakers to put in your computer b/c we don't have those on hand either."
Long story short, they fixed the speakers but, "had to order another part to repair the USB port." So I am waiting for that to be repaired but the dang AC Power to the actual computer does not work now!!! It's not the magsafe 2 charger that I have or the outlets I tried it in b/c I tried multiple chargers and multiple outlets. I am very frustrated! I have been without my computer for almost 2 weeks and still have to take it in at least twice more to get the power working this weekend and then again next week to (hopefully) get the USB port working.
At what point should I ask for a new computer or a refund? I have been using Apple Computers my whole life, I have had 8 different mac laptop models and have not had a problem until this computer. I am very frustrated with the support I have received from Apple as a whole.

Contact Apple Customer Relations and let them know that you're not happy. With the logic board replacement, everything else should have been evaluated and fixed at the same time. It sounds as if you just got a lemon. You could plead your case for a replacement unit, I would think, since your machine is being 'replaced' piecemeal...
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Macbook Pro sleep Problems with Time Machine and Time Capsule

I recently installed a time capsule as a Router and a Time Machine backup device for 2 macs in the house.
Unfortunately, I found that my 2011 macbook pro 15' updates the time machine backups even when the lid is closed and in sleep.
When I wake the macbook pro, it hangs and I have to reset the mac to restart.
This did not happen when I was using a firewire hard drive with the time machine.
    My question is:
Is there a way to prevent the time machine to backup when the macbook pro is in sleep mode?
My mac is not equiped with power nap so it is not suppose to be doing this.
    Thanks
Other info:  OS Mountain Lion, regular hard drive, 8 Gig Memory

    Edwin,
I assume that since the repair of the sparsebundle failed you still cannot open the sparsebundle in Finder and get the message:
The following backups could not be opened:
Imac of E.sparsebundle because there are no activatible filesystems
If the sparsebundle cannot be opened in Finder, then the chances that Time Machine can open them are nil in my opinion. Time Machine, in effect is just going to open the sparsebundle as Finder is attempting to dot, then it gives you a fnacy display, but the underlying issue with the sparesbundle is the same for both methods of access.
Do you, by chance hav a bootable backuo of your Snow Leopard system?
If so can you access the TM backups with it??
You didn't change the Time Capsules Network Password did you?? see this.
I looked to see if I could find anythng about the error codes you mentioned in your original post and so far can;t find anything about them.

  • How do I set macbook pro to share with windows

How do I sahre files between macbook pro and windows?

In System Preferences > Sharing, turn on File Sharing.  Then click the Options button and select "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows)"  Then click Done.   Note: this is the procedure in Snow Leopard; it may be slightly different in Mt. Lion.  Just check in System Prefs > Sharing and you should find what you need.
