Macbook Pro 3,1 - is there a compatible HD upgrade with 320GB @ 7200RPM?

I'm at the point where I either need to make some upgrades to my Macbook Pro 3,1, or I am going to have to get a new laptop. Thinking about getting a Lenovo Thinkpad x120e, but maybe I could hold off on that purchase and make the following changes to my macbook.
2x1GB DDR2 >> 2x2GB DDR2
160GB HD @ 5400RPM >> 320GB @ 7200RPM
Upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard (avoid Lion for performance)
Get replacement keyboard because of intermittent malfunction.
My question is, is there a compatible HD upgrade with the specs I am looking for? The upgrades, excluding a HD, would total $155, and I'd like to keep the costs under $200, otherwise I might as well just fork out another $250 and get a Thinkpad. Any suggestions or advice?

It definately was justified to upgrade from the MBP15'Core2DuoLate2006 to the new one. The processor is only 0,4 GB faster is true, however, the LED screen is much brighter and crisper and noticeably longer battery life in addittion to all 'corrections' to bugs and bits here and there. I also got this new machine for free as a replacement to a damaged under-warranty screen on the previous, so that was the justification I wouldn't have said no, would you?

If I understand this correctly, you wish to print from the iBook under Mac OS 9.2.x and from the MacBook Pro under Mac OS X 10.6.8 (no AppleTalk support in the latter).
What type of printer did you have in mind? Does it have to be colour? Otherwise, a monochrome laser printer may be the best choice (high print quality and a low per page cost). A networkable PostScript printer may be the most compatible. Additional information would make it easier for someone here to suggest a solution.
If you would be willing to accept some extra work and certain limitations, another way could possibly be to "print" to a PDF file on the iBook via a printer driver called PrintToPDF, and then transfer this file to the MacBook Pro and carry out the "real" printing there.

I'm not understanding your question. I think you would use any of the current web design formats. Are you talking about what styles to use? If so see the css standards css1, css2, css3 to see what they can provide and which browsers are most compatible. If you are talking about languages use a current standard like html5, php, C#, visual basic , javascript, etc.

I recommend you to run Apple Hardware Test > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509 It's possible that something is damaged, and Apple Hardware Test will help you finding it. Make sure you tick the option to run an extended test, and connect your Mac to the charger.
If your Mac came with DVDs, you have to insert the Mac OS X DVD to run Apple Hardware Test. As you haven't got the SuperDrive, you will have to buy an external optical drive

I think I just got it. I had the actual Logic Pro.app in a folder called Logic Pro inside the applications folder. When I moved the actual app out of the folder and into applications it worked. I am in the process of updating now. However it seems a little strange because that's how it installed from the discs - into a folder named Logic Pro within the applications folder. I would never have figured that out on my own. So thanks for those who posted solutions to other users similar requests.

when you restart the machine, make sure you uncheck the "reopen windows" check box, and see if that helps.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

Sometime that won't work and you need to do more

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.
