Macbook pro airport disconnected

Hai,
I used to connect my macbook pro 2009 with Iphone 4 personal hot spot. Recently i noticed that it always disconnected automatically. Whenever i tried
To reconnect it, it always shown that the connection is "time out".
Then i turned off the airport, but i find it difficult to turn on the airport again so i have to restart it.
I did test with Apple Hard ware test, but nothing is detected on the hard ware.
Could anyone help me, please???

The same thing happened here. I even looked up my password in the Keychain app to make sure I've got the right one, still didn't work. The Airport Utility wants me to update my firmware from 7.4.2 to 7.5.2 but I can't do that without the password.
I found information on resetting the password, you might find this useful too.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3728
I'm already not wanting to do this because it'll mean updating all the iphones and computers that use the wireless network. for some reason the current password is fine, it just doesn't work in the AirPort Utility

my macbook pro airport won't turn on! What would be the problem?
I've tried to turn the airport on and it says my airport card is not installed...
it has always worked till today... bot from now on nothing seem to help the airport work...
    Please help me!
    Thanks

You could try deleting the airpot from the sidebar of system preferences/network. To do this,
    1)  export the preferences for your airport to your desktop by pressing the gear next to the plus and minus sign above the lock.
    2) Delete your airport from the sidebar using the minus sign while the airport is selected.
    3)  After deleting the airport, apply the changes and then press the plus sign to create a new airport.
    4)  Then import the preferences back in and apply the changes again.
This may bring your airport back.  It worked for me.  Alternatively, people have been having success with changing the location of the airport.
    Good Luck.

  • MacBook Pro Airport Card disabled

    Hello to everyone,
After the reboot following the last early june updates (10.5.7, Airport Client Update 2009-001 and iLife 09) I have a problem with my macbook pro 17' late 2008 (alu) Airport card : it is disabled and can't be enabled !
The airport internal card is BCM43xx.
To solve this after a few readings (I seem not to be the only one concerned with this problem) I tryed to :
    o Make again a combo 10.5.7 update
    o Re-install Airport Client update 2009-001
o Create another user on the computer -> not user related
o Delete the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration directory, followed with disk authorisations repairing and a reset with PRAM erase -> The Airport started, but turned disabled again after a few seconds ....
I add the wifi network is made with an Airport Extreme, nothing was changed on this side and my other MacBook Pro airport is running fine (same updates, just an older MBP).
I also tryed to have a look at the console but found no errors, I have a frequent message : +(com.apple.AirPortBaseStationAgent) Unknown key for boolean: EnableTransactions+ but that's all ...
If someone has a few more ideas please help ...
    Thanks a lot
    Regards.

If this can help, I solved my airport problem by doing a SMC reset of my MBP. The airport card is now detected, with the latest updates.

  • My macbook pro keeps disconnecting from my airport

Hello Guys. So I am from Europe..Last summer i bought from America a Macbook Pro 13 mid 2014 and an Iphone 6. Two weeks ago i updated my products so i bought an Airport Express...(2)Everything was great(3) for one week...I was very happy(4) with my internet...After 1 week (5)everything was gone...It s been(6 and waiting)  2 weeks since i`ve tried everything...(still wainting for 6) I meaaaan everything...i`m gonna say immediatly what everything means..So i have connected to that airport my macbook,my iphone 6 and a Lenovo windows laptop (7)..The Lenovo has no issues...the internet is flying...but on the macbook pro and  iphone 6 the internet is dead(8) (9). if i try to connect to another wifi...i have no issue...
So my mac its impossible to have a problem if i can stay connected to another wifi,my ISP cable shouldn`t have any problem if my Lenovo can stay connected to the wifi(17), and last option is the aiport...but the aiport is 3 weeks old..sooo...
The nu(10)mbers in (11) that i keep writing between the words are the disconnections.:( yep..it`s that bad..(12)
    Everything:
    - i turned off/on the wifi on mac
    - i powered off/on the airport (13) express
    - i changed the cable from the internet
    - i deleted my wifi and created a new one after (14) (15)restarting
    - i change my location
    - i renew everything(16)
    - i changed the airport on every , single , channel...13 channels for the 2.4 and 4 for the 5 ghz
    - i did that thing with SMC..macbook closed and (18) command + option + esc.
    - (19) (20) i closed the bluetooth off/on...its off everytime
    - everything up to date. the mac the aiport the iphone
All of those and nothing..nooothing...It`s very annoying...I did everything i could find on the internet...

  • MacBook Pro airport doesn't choose 5 GHz network when waking from sleep

    Hi,
I recently set up a Time Capsule [TC] 802.11n (4th Gen) as my airport base station catering for my MacBook Pro [MBP], iPad (1st Gen), iPod (3rd Gen) and BlackBerry 9900. I have it set up in dual-band mode (2.4/5 GHz) with the same SSID, mainly hoping to take advantage of the increased speed of the 5GHz band during Time Machine backups - I get a Transmit Rate of 300 Mbit/s when connected at 5 GHz and 145 MBit/s at 2.4 GHz. Aside from that I don't really care which it chooses to be honest - my internet connection is only 12 Mbit/s. When I start up my MBP from a full shut down within an 'appropriate' distance from the TC, AirPort automatically selects the 5 GHz band and falls back to 2.4 GHz if I stray too far.
The problem arises when I wake my MBP from a sleep (which is pretty much always having closed the lid each time I'm done using it) and AirPort ALWAYS selects the 2.4 GHz band and will never change to the 5 GHz band unless I fully disconnect from the network and then reconnect.
The iPad and BlackBerry both switch happily between the two bands as I move around the house, opting for the 5 GHz when possible  and always without intervention so the set-up obviously works.
I think it's a problem in Snow Leopard having read problems around the internet from users who have upgraded from Leopard to SL, most of whom seem to do what I'm thinking, i.e. setting up a different name for the 5 GHz network and putting it higher in the priority list that the 2.4 GHz one, however the solution isn't ideal/elegant and certainly not how it's supposed to work, but I've yet to find a definitive solution from Apple anywhere.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone found a solution? Anyone heard anything from Apple?
    Thanks!

Yes. I'm having a very similar problem. I don't have TC, but I have a netgear wndr4000. I'm always bring my MBP out of sleep and having to manually select the 5GHz band. Even when I know it should. I have different SSID's on each band, and I have tried setting the priority order, but that has another set of problems. When I get a little farther away, it will hook to the 5GHz band at 54Mb, but the 2.4GHz will be at 130Mb at the same distance. I thought it would make some type of smart choice about it.
I had been thinking about moving to a Airport Extreme because I've been told by others that their machines make the correct choice with the SSIDs set the same.
I too am on Snow Leopard, but I'll be upgrading soon.

  • Since last update 2 Macbook Pro's disconnecting from wireless everyday?

So since the last (recent) update to I think firmware 7.6 my 2 macbook pro's are disconnecting on their own everyday, have to choose the network again, or turn off wifi and turn it back on again (and select the network) - anyone else having this issue? It seems to be affecting only my macbook pros not my iphone, apple tv or ipad.

Also, the firmware is for Airport Extreme, which I am using.

  • 2011 Macbook Pro Airport card Issues

    Hi guys,
I have been having a problem with my 15" 2011 Macbook Pro. Over the last week my wifi has been malfunctioning. I will be able to succesfully connect to my WiFi for about 30 minutes, but then the signal drops. When I click on the connection reticule on the top right it says my WiFi is on, but that no hotspots can be detected. There are at least half a dozen hotspots near me.
After this, if I turn off the WiFi it will not turn back on. I have to restart my Macbook to regain connectivity. This has not coincided with any recent installations of hardware or software.
If anyone has solutions I would be very grateful. I have tried resetting my PRAM. I am about 2 months out of warranty. So, if this does require service I would appreciate any estimates on the cost.
    Thank you!
    Ryan

    Your router is likely fine.
You should first update the Airport firmware for it, simply run the Airport and Software update.
    See this
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3802
And then go to your System Preferences > Network > Advanced > TCP/IP and for IPv6 turn : OFF
Reboot and see how that goes.
When you connect to the router it gives you a lease on a IP address, if your computer's time and date are off this could make the lease expire and you connect and then get disconnected. So check that, see if it holds.
    Reset your SMC and NVRAM/PRAM
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
Go to your <home> /Library/Preferences and drag the
    com.apple.systempreferences.plist
file to the desktop and reboot, it will be rebuilt, hit your Sytem Preferences and reset them.
drag the useless file on the desktop to the trash.

  • Macbook Pro Airport Card looses connection if not running a continuous network ping

Okay, I have a crazy issue going on.
Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, soon after my Airport Card started disconnecting from any network and I would have to turn it off/on to get it working again and then it would die about 45 seconds later.  This repeats over and over.  I have found that if I run a continuous ping to something else on the network it will stay live and not disconnect.  So, my Airport Card will stay connected if I run a continuous ping, but without it it will die every time.  What the heck is going on?  Did Mountain Lion put something in the firmware on my Airport card that is messing it up?  I have done fresh installs many times and downgraded to lion and snow lepard and still the same issue.  Is my Wifi Nic just dead or is this some other issues like the antenna?  I have a new Wifi Nic in route from China but I want to make sure I finish running through all other possibilities before it arrives.
    Thank you
    Kevin Monette

I'm sure you meant to post in the appropriate forum. This area is for MBP (Original). You want MacBook Pro (Late 2008 and Early 2009) here:

    1. Try typing a $ before your password, so $password.
    2. Proximity to your router without walls in the way is helpful for proper signal. Proper orientation of your router is also helpful.

  • Macbook pro wifi disconnects

I have a new macbook pro and use a dlink 2310 b/g router. Wifi drops out about twice per hour. If I go through network diagnosis it will reconnect. At the same time my new iPad in the same location does not disconnect.

  • Help!!!  Macbook Pro airport wireless.

I purchased my Macbook Pro two weeks ago, May 27th, 2007. At the same time I purchased a macbook for my wife. My problem, my wifes macbook picks up five wireless networks to my one. Her macbook will connect to wireless networks and have a strong three bars, while my macbook pro either can't find the network, or can find it for all of 30seconds with one bar, and not even connect to the internet. While at my brothers home her macbook will have solid airport signal, and my macbook pro at the same time and place will have three maybe four bars. What's the deal?
Mac Book Pro 2.33   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I can pickup a signal at Coffey shops, but not a signal at home. I have a 2wire wirless modem/router. My windows laptop will connect to it but my new macbook pro will not even detect the network. tech support didnt know what else to do after all the troubleshooting.

  • Macbook Pro Airport has no IP Address?

I was working on my MacBook Pro this morning and a few hours later I could not access the internet. I checked my network connections and I received an error saying "Airport does not have an IP address and cannot connest to the internet." I have no idea what could have caused this becuase I have not tampered with either the settings or the wireless router (which is a Linksys WRK54G). Any thoughts??
On a side note, I also went into the network settings to look at the TCP/IP tab since that what some people suggested and there is no IP address anywhere.

    Welcome to the Discussions!
Cycle the power on the router; if that doesn't restore the IP address, then look at the settings within the router. Also, make sure that Airport is connecting to your router and not some other wireless network.

  • MacBook Pro AirPort issue

    Hi,
I have the MacBook Pro model just before the unibody model. I'm having a little problem with my AirPort. Restarting hasn't worked. I can connect to a network successfully, but half the time I won't be able to use the internet. Sometimes it will work, but a lot of the time it won't. This happens for different networks, no particular one. What could be the issue and how do I get it work properly?? Thanks.

I don't that matters, it happens to any modem/router. Even the university ones. Really annoying not to be able to connect easily on campus. But this one here, is a "2WIRE" Bell modem. Don't know which ones the university uses.

  • Why does my macbook pro keep disconnecting from the internet?

For whatever reason my Macbook pro 15in keeps disconnecting from the internet everytime it goes to sleep. And sometimes when I wake it up, I have to turn wifi on and off a couple times to get it to detect the right signal. This does not happen with my playstation or my phone so it has to be a problem with the Macbook itself. Can anyone give me any information on how to fix this problem? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, amal111.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity issues.  Also, make sure all firmware updates have been processed on the router and the settings have been adjusted to the recommended settings in the second article below.
