Macbook Pro Battery Is Not Charging but Condition: Normal
Hi,
This question may have been answered but I couldn't find any information about problems with the same symptoms as my own. My 2010 MacbookPro battery is not charging but the green light on the adaptor is green when plugged in. Laptop will die if power adaptor is removed. Have attempted SMC restart but still receiving following information.
Battery Information:
Charge Information:
Charge Remaining (mAh): 0
Fully Charged: No
Charging: No
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 0
Health Information:
Cycle Count: 0
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): 0
Voltage (mV): 0
Condition is NORMAL but the Cycle Count has been reduced to 0 which it definitely is not after about 20 months of use but I cannot tell what the actual Cycle
Count is for obvious reasons. I'd rather not have to get a new battery but am aware this could be neccessary. Was just curious if anybody else had experienced
a similar problem and if they had it resolved as I cannot get to an Apple store for at least a month!
Thanks for the help.
A new development has just occured. I noticed the light on the adaptor suddenly turned orange. Now the battery is showing the following:
Battery Information:
Charge Information:
Charge Remaining (mAh): 5541
Fully Charged: No
Charging: Yes
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 6492
Health Information:
Cycle Count: 205
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): 1839
Voltage (mV): 12369
Ever seen anything like this before? Problem with the connectors or circuit fault as you suggested?

Macbook Pro battery is not charging but the battery meter is full
Hi guys!
I have a 19 months macbook pro. I've tried using 2 different AC adapter but my mac's battery is still at 0% and the status says "Battery is not charging". I think my battery is dead but the LED battery indicator on my battery shows 5 lights, means its at full power.
I've tried to disconnect the AC cable and remove the battery, then press the power button for 10 sec but nothing change when i start my mac again...i also tried to reset my PRAM ( i think ) by holding a cmdopt+PR while rebooting but it didn't help to solve the problem too. I also have the battery update 1.2 installed on my mac and the results is still the same.
This is my battery info from system profiler. I hope someone can tell me what to do before I visit the Apple store.

I am having some strange battery behavior. I bought a FastMac TruePower Battery that is supposed to have extended capacity. Now when the battery dies, i plug in my MagSafe to charge it and it immediately says 'not charging', but then begins to charge. It either continues to charge and gets stuck at 80% or so and reads "calculating" in the menu bar, or just jumps between 'charging' and 'not charging'. The symptoms are very strange, and FastMac already sent this battery back saying it passes all of their tests. I do not want to send it back again because they charged me to send it back to myself even though it still does not work as advertised. I have my original Macbook Pro Apple battery which still charges fine, so i assume it is a problem with the battery based on a simple process of elimination.

SMC Reset and Macbook Pro Battery still not charging
Hi, I bought a new Macbook Pro the Christmas before last (2 years ago) and unfortunately didn't remember to buy the AppleCare. (Didn't have the money to purchase it as I was buying the computer) Anyway, today my charger decided to stop recharging the battery. The battery icon says the battery is charging but the LED light on the charger is not on at all and when I click on the battery status it says "Battery is Not Charging." I've already tried the usual troubleshooting and Resetting the SMC but it didn't work. I also checked the status on the battery and my computer said it was Normal. What else can I do? I really need this laptop for college and the battery has to be usable.
If available, try a different charger.
What does System Report>Power say under AC CHARGER INFORMATION?

MacBook Pro battery does not charge
My macbook pro is dead after the battery went flat. Now the battery will not charge, the LED on the power cord remains green, and I am unable to turn on the computer. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem?
When the battery is really dead there are three possibilities:
- Reset the SMC and hope the problem went
- Bring it to an Apple Service Provider, if it's covered under warranty
- Buy a new battery
All if it is the battery, and not something else with the power adapter or the MacBook Pro itself. -
Mid 2010 Macbook Pro battery will not charge after plugging in firewire cable shut down computer
I have a mid 2010 15" Macbook pro with Lion installed.
I was running off battery, and I went to plug in a firewire cable, not plugged into anything, and when I inserted it, the computer shut off.
The computer would not turn on again without being plugged into the AC adaptor. The magsafe charger shows green, but the computer says not charging. The battery is showing 57%, but the indicator lights will only light up when AC charger is connected..
I have let it sit off, and plugged in for a couple hours, and nothing chages, and let it sit overnight not plugged in, but nothing.
I have read other forums about the same issue,, it seems like its a common issue, and some have said what it could be, but no one said what it IS.
I have tried resetting the SMC and PRAM, but to no avail.
When i plug in the AC adaptor, the computer immediately turns on (which I find kond of funny), and I am able to turn it off normally, and it will stay off, and I can also turn it on if the charger has been connected from pervious.

Macbook Pro battery is not charging.
Hi,
I recently purchased a replacement battery for my aging (2006) Macbook Pro.
The battery did just fine, but only for 5 cycles. Now, it permanently shows a status of "not charging".
I had started to think that maybe my power block had developed a fault, but eliminated that by going to a local re-seller who kindly let me plug it in using one of their blocks. I got the same status.
Can anybody tell me anything from evaluating my status data, or better still, suggest a fix before I go about returning the battery? I am particularly foxed by the fact that this appears to show the battery condition as 'Normal'.
Here is the data when I look into the 'Power' section of 'About this Mac':

Macbook pro battery reports not charging replace now
Hi,
My MacBook Pro reports that it is not charging and the status is "replace now". This is an early 2008 model so is it simply the fact that the battery is due for replacement or could there be another explanation :
I have not used the Mac Book for a few months and battery lasted 3-4 hours on last use.
The battery has only had 30 power cycles, I thought that average should be about 300 ?
Did Apple recall/replace known issues with batteries in this model/date, even so it probably isn't valid now ?
Thanks
JakeThere have not any battery recalls that I am aware of. I suggest you go to the Apple store and have the MBP examined. Your cycle count is very low but the battery is not new, coupled with the fact the MBP warning message is there for a purpose.

Since I installed 10.9.3 my macbook pro battery will not charge?
Hi,
New to posting on here. I installed 10.9.3 2 days ago and since then I have had an X over my battery icon. Having checked hardware it doesn't even recognise that a battery is there. Only works now with power lead plugged in. The Macbook Pro is about 18 months old. Would really appreciate any help!gartonashmol,
have you tried resetting your MacBook Pro’s System Management Controller? -
Macbook Pro-battery does not charge when on standby
Funny thing, I discharged my battery recently and when I plugged my power adaptor I put the computer to hibernation. When I opened the screen the charge was still 15%, same as b4 hibernating. The computer would not charge the battery whenever I close the screen and the problem remains. Anyone had similar problems?
This isn't a normal behavior. Have you verify if the magsafe adaptor was properly connected, i.e. that the amber-LED was on?

My macbook pro battery will not hold charge
My macbook pro battery will not charge. The laptop will only turn on after it has been plugged in to charge, and when unplugged it automatically dies. When plugged in the battery indicator is green and the top right corner of the screen says "Not charging". I left town for a week with the laptop off and I came back in town and it won't charge. What can I do to fix this?
If you are under warranty call Apple and get a case number.

My brand new MacBook Pro retina display not charging the battery any more after 3 weeks...no green or red Led. Any one now about this problem? Thanks
Either the power brick is damaged, or the charging circuit is on the blink, or both. Either way, a trip to the Apple Store or the Apple Authorized Service Provider is in order, as this ain't no bargain basement toy.
In the meantime, can attempt an SMC Reset to see if it helps. -
My battery is not charging but from About This Mac the battery seems good condition. I had tried resetting smc but not working too. What can I do?

Charging: NoHi all,
I tried a different charger myself (the power source is reliable). But it does not work too. I think I need to bring it down to apple shop.
But is quite disappointing with the new apple product I have. Cos not only my battery is not charging, my built in speaker, the sound is like broken too. So I can hear some noisy sound when I play music.
I have a power book G4, and the power book, everything is still in good condition. Imagine how many yrs I have with the power book G4. This power book I never bring to do any services before. I sometimes really suspect is it Apple drop quality
(cos the office new bought mac from my boss, the USB port is not working too..)
But thanks all for the reply I think I need to bring it down to apple shop. Thanks! -
My Macbook Pro suddenly will not charge. I tried using 2 different cables and it still will not charge. What should I do??
Look at the power adapter connection on the MBP and make certain that it is clean and not discolored.
Trya SMC reset:
