  • My macbook pro bluetooth will not pair with my samsung 4s

Went from a machook to a macbook pro running yosemite. Samsun 4s paired with macbook, but not macbook pro. Anybody have this problem and can help?

    Hi there d'andreTeeter,
If you still aren't able to connect to your Samsung S4 via bluetooth with your Mac. To help you get the issue resolved, or isolated I recommend the information in the following article:
    Bluetooth Quick Assist
Start with these steps, and there are more within if you need them:
    Check your device's system requirements
Make sure that your computer meets your Bluetooth device's system requirements—visit the device manufacturer's website for details. This also applies to a USB Bluetooth adapter, if you use one.
Make sure that Bluetooth and your device are turned on
To check your computer's Bluetooth status, choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Bluetooth. In Bluetooth preferences, make sure "On" is selected (in earlier Mac OS X versions, click the Settings tab, then click the Bluetooth On button to turn on Bluetooth). Check your device to make sure that it's also powered on. If you're trying to pair a Bluetooth phone or PDA, make sure that Bluetooth is active and that the device is “discoverable” (consult your product manual if you're unsure about how to change these settings on your device).
Download and install the latest software for the device
Some Bluetooth devices require you to install software before you can use them with your Mac. Make sure that you've installed any required software or that you're using the latest software available for the device on your computer. Check the device manufacturer's website for the latest updates and more information. For help with syncing a Palm OS device with your Mac over Bluetooth, see iSync 2: How to sync a Palm OS device over Bluetooth.

    Take care,

  • My MacBook Pro has an update available for Maverick I think it was

My MacBook Pro had an update available for the Maverick and I did not hit the update because kept erroring out. I was updating other things and decided to hit it too and that time finally updated. Then right after the laptop looked for updates and did another one. It asked to install whatever the upstate on the OS or X was and then took 50 minutes to install it then more time to complete it. When computer finally came back on it asked for my apple ID for iCloud. I typed it in several times correct fly but it would not take it and finally chose forgot. It went to a new blank box with the asterisk wheel winding around and choice of continue highlighted below next to un highlighted back.  Now I am frozen here and can't do anything with laptop. Will not allow me to highlight and choose back. Can't get it to continue. Tried esc. Tried force close and tells me I must quit setup assistant first. Can't get top controls to show up. Finally got a second desktop background to come up and pushed F 3 and tried to use buttons below and above and will pull-up things like Safari but can't use it and can't pull up the set up assistant this way to choose quit either. So I am just stuck.  Help please, anyone. How do I get use of my laptop again??
I don't really know if it is maverick or what number OS it is. Just know had picture of mountain lion.

That sounds like you have installed Mavericks over the top of Mountain Lion?
Do you know what version of the OS was on the laptop before you started?
Do you have any backups from before the 'update', either a Time Machine disk or a full copy (a.k.a. bootable clone)?
Mavericks is not a simple update, despite Apple's constant nagging to 'update' to it. It's possible that the Mavericks installer has overwritten the old OS, but I suspect it may simply need you to create a user account with the setup assistant. It's a very good idea to make a full backup before applying any major OS upgrade.
I would reboot, fill out the details for setup assistant and when it is time to enter the user details enter a new account name (this will be your admin account). The assistant should then create a user account that you can login with to look at the contents of the Mac's disk.
Then you should open the /Users folder (Use 'Finder menu > Go > Go to folder…' to open /Users) & see if the old users home folders are still intact. You may also want to see if any third party Applications are still installed.
If the old data is intact, and the account isn't listed in 'System Preferences > Users & groups' it can be recreated, provided you make sure to use the same 'shortname' as the Users home folder.
If the data is gone, I'm afraid it's possible that it is lost, I can't see this being likley because the 10.9 installer will not delete user data without some stern warnings & advanced user interaction.
An alternative would be to connect this Mac to another Mac & look at the disk to see if the data is still there before you create the user acount. Do you have access to another Mac? You may be able to use Thunderbolt or Firewire to see this Mac's disk on another working Mac.

  • My bluetooth is not available

    Hi!
I can't connect my MagicMouse because my bluetooth is "Not available". My MacBook freezed so I force-restarted it. When I started it up again it didn't react when I used the MagicMouse, but the light on the mouse was on. When I clicked on bluetooth in the menubar to connect the mouse again it said "Bluetooth: Not available". I can't even find bluetooth in system preferences.
I have heard that you can reset the "PRAM" but does that reset the bluetooth device (it's a built in bluetooth device). I opened the software "Bluetooth filetransfer" and it said something like "Connect a bluetooth device first". Is it a hardwere problem?
My question is, should i reset PRAM or is this a hardwere error? Or is it something else?

    Andrew,
What is SMC, and how do you restart it { Sorry for being that stupid}?
Thanks for the help Andrew, appreciat it.

Macbook Pro late 2011 not powering on. The charger shows a blinking dim orange/green light. I have tried pressing the small button on the side of the macbook pro to check the battery, but no lights show up.

    Hey Angelo_here,
    I'd run through these steps:
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

  • HT3275 TIME MACHINE ERROR: The backup disk image "/Volumes/Data/Sean McGuire's MacBook Pro.sparsebundle" could not be created (error 1).

I can select a disk (Time Capsule) and initiate the backup.  It only "waits to back up" then "making backup disk available" and remains frozen there.  I tried to update the software a while back and was unsuccessful, I think that may be the issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  This is the error message I receive.

  • How do I resynchronize my iPhone and MacBook Pro bluetooth connection?

I accidentally had my iPhone "forget" my MacBook Pro bluetooth connection, and I need it to reappear to resynchronize. My iPhone shows up as discoverable on my MacBook Pro, but it is not connected. When I have my bluetooth on on my iPhone 4S, the MBP doesn't appear in the list of my bluetooth devices.

You can sync using iTunes  >   iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes  (via USB)
Or wirelessly using iCloud >  Apple - iCloud - All your content on all your devices.

You can connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, that should copy it over to the Movies part of your library.
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether the film studio allows it, you might also be able to re-download it on your Mac via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page.

I still don't know what happened to my test Aperture Library after the update to 3.4...Not only were my previews lost, but so were the original images!  Needless to say, I haven't bothered to update the main library on the Mac Pro because I don't want to deal with this level of uncertainty (even with backups in place).

I have had the same problem. It was cured by turning computer off and/or restarting it. I am not sure  if once was enough. I think shutting down must cut out whatever it is that blocks bluetooth. Good luck

  • After recent update to my macbook pro itunes will not open, it just bounces when I click on it

fter recent update to my macbook pro itunes will not open, it just bounces when I click on it

Means they are going to mess up your iPhoto Library pictures database  so it's unreadable by older versions of iPhoto on older OS X operating systems.
You have the choice to right click on the iPhoto Lbrary and inside is a folder called Origianls, use the Finder to Duplicate this folder, then move the OriginalsCopy out of the iPhoto Library folder and save it elsewhere.
I dont' think Apple will every intentionally touch the originals, however it's possible they could.
