Macbook pro bluetooth missing

Hi I recently updated to Mountain Lion since then my bluetooth module has gone wonky. My Magic mouse connects but no longer scrolls. I have restarted and when I check the hardware info no bluetooth info is found and in the task bar at the top of the screen bluetooth is unavailable. I tried the hardware doctor but this did not support my mac. I reset smc no joy. Restarted holding down the power button for 5 seconds no joy. Any help gratefully recieved.

OK - this might or might not work. Instead of doing a full installation of 10.8.2, try downloading and installing the 10.8.2 combo update - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1581 - and then the 10.8.2 supplemental update - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1600.
I don't know that this will 'fix' the problem - you might have to reinstall Mountain Lion anew (using a couple of methods). But give it a shot...

  • How do I resynchronize my iPhone and MacBook Pro bluetooth connection?

I accidentally had my iPhone "forget" my MacBook Pro bluetooth connection, and I need it to reappear to resynchronize. My iPhone shows up as discoverable on my MacBook Pro, but it is not connected. When I have my bluetooth on on my iPhone 4S, the MBP doesn't appear in the list of my bluetooth devices.

You can sync using iTunes  >   iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes  (via USB)
Or wirelessly using iCloud >  Apple - iCloud - All your content on all your devices.

  • MacBook Pro - Bluetooth and Speaker bug

    Hello,
I've bought a new speaker (JBL Pulse) one day ago in order to use it like speaker for my Macbook pro.
Here it is, I need to use a bluetooth connection if I want to use my JBL speaker. My bluetooth is able to see my speaker, so they are connected. Everything works fine but after 1min, I can't explain why but the connection between them is broken. And it does it every time.
So first of all, I've tried other devices. My iphone is ok, my ipad is ok, I've tried with 2 other Macbook and everything works well. So I've concluded that the bug comes from my computer.
I have a magic mouse so I thought that maybe my mouse could create some disruption. I have disconnected my mouse but the bug is still here.
    Then, I've called apple support.
The guy told me to do many things like reboot the macbook and other stuff like that. At the end he told me to reinstall my OSX. So i did it and the bug is still here.
Then I have even tried to delete the file inside my DD thinking that maybe it could help. but I have still the same problem.
It's not the first time that I have some troubles with my bluetooth. Sometimes it happens that my magic mouse is disconnected while I'm using it. Or even sometimes when I try to click on the bluetooth icon it doesn't even answer. And I have to restart my computer.
I'm a little bit frustrated because my macbook pro is in very good condition and it's a young one (almost one year). I don't have a lot of stuff inside.
A friend tried to solve the problem but he thinks that the problem comes from my "network card".
Thank you for your help and If you have any idea, do not hesitate Thanks
I wanted to go to the apple store but still not open in my city... (frustrated again ^^) So I'm gonna call them Monday morning if I'm still without any solution

I have the same problem with my older white Apple Wireless Extended Keyboard, which had been working fine with my 2009 iMac. But I experience the issue sporadically with my new Mac Mini. I've read reports of people resolving some BT issues by turning off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" in the Advanced pane of the Bluetooth System Preferenes Pane.
There are also people having the issue on iOS devices using various Apple BT keyboards. No help, but interesting to note that it's happening across various devices, keyboard models, and OSs.

  • MacBook Pro Bluetooth problems

Anyone have any problems with BlueTooth mice and the MacBook Pro?
I've got a 2010 17" MacBook Pro running 10.7.1 (but the problem pre-dates Lion). The mouse is "jerky" meaning that when I move the mouse it doesn't follow immediately sometimes, and immediate fine control is near impossible. I've tried two different Magic Mice, swapped the batteries, etc. I've run all software updates.
The only thing I can figure is that it's the Bluetooth connection. And as best I can figure it's unique to this model machine as I didn't have these problems with the previous model.

  • MacBook Pro bluetooth tether to Ipad2

I was tethering my MacBook Pro wired LAN connection to my IPAD 2 via Bluetooth.  All of the sudden it stopped working.  I know that there was a security update on my MacBook Pro but nothing else has changed.
It was working like a champ.  Beofre you ask, I have to connect via Blutooth becasue if I use the WIFI then my Itunes Remote will not work.  I know..

Try a "hard" reset. Hold power and home button, swipe to shutdown screen will appear, keep holding and after about 5 seconds the device/s will shutdown.
I did this to iPad2 and 3GS after iPad2 stopped holding it's connection to 3GS bluetooth hotspot.
After performing the above, connection worked first time and 3G data was once again shared from 3GS to iPad2

  • Why doesnt macbook pro bluetooth connect to android? they are paired but keeps dropping out.

I am attempting to download a photo from android phone to macbook pro. they are paired, they recognise and connect for half a second then drops out. Macbook works with other apple devices just not devices from different companies.
    is this common a problem?
    It doesnt just work!!

You have to enable bluetooth sharing to receive files to your mac
Here are detailed instrcutions on how to do that.

  • New MacBook Pro Bluetooth issue

    Hi All,
I have a new (early 2011 model) 15' MacBook Pro.
The Bluetooth is on and working fine with my magic trackpad, however everytime I go to the setup new bluetooth device I get a message saying bluetooth is off would you like to switch it on, dispite the fact I then use my bluetooth magic trackpad to click on the ok button!
Also setting up my Bluetooth headphones seems to pair ok, but then they aren't listed in the bluetooth menu.
Also I can't make bluetooth discoverable, the option is disabled.
I've tried rebooting, reflashing PRAM/NVRAM all to no luck
See the attached image for the wierd one, bluetooth packets being recieved without bluetooth being on.
Any suggestions or is it just broken?

Guys, you don't have to reinstall the whole thing, here is an easy fix:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3226735?start=0&tstart=0
The problem is caused by the migration process, because all the settings of your old Mac (including settings of BT) are transfered to the new one.
So basically you have to remove the old settings and log out/in once and it is fixed!
Hope this works out for you also!

  • MacBook Pro bluetooth streaming issues

    Hi There,
I recently purchased an Aluratek iStream, it is a device that turns a normal pair of speakers into bluetooth audio streaming capable ones. I connected my Late-2011 MBP to it and tried playing music and I quickly noticed that the audio quality significantly dropped and the line had a lot of static on it. So I tried pairing it with my iPhone 4S and played the same exact song and there was no static at all. Then I tried pairing it with my older MacBook (running Lion) and I had no static issues either. Also, I tried rebooting my MBP and the issue persisted.
Anyway, has anyone else had the same issue?
    Jonathan

Same issue except there isnt crackling. Instead, the audio volume is about 50% lower when played from my macbook pro
Works fine on my HTC thunderbolt, Even works fine on my brothers Mac (same year and OS build).
My audio used to work fine through my bluetooth adapters but now the audio is way lower than it should be. This is a recent problem, it worked fine before. I believe an update may have cuased this, then again my brothers mac is working just fine even after the update. I even tried switching the bluetooth adapter and it still has the problem so I know its my Mac.
    Please fix this issue...
Me and my brother Both have 2011 Macbook Pros, running 10.7.4 and the adapters are Blackberry adapters used to receive the audio from my mac and play through my home entertainment system via aux jack from the bluetooth adapter.

  • Macbook Pro bluetooth problems with a Bose sound dock 10

So a while ago I bought my Bose Sound dock 10 and the bluetooth between both my Mac and iPhone has been great. But then OS X Mavericks came out and I start having issues with connecting through bluetooth for the first time. I have to go to the Sound dock and remove the bluetooth port, then put it back in, then try to connect from my Mac again but then having to do the process again. I know this isn't a fault with the Bose product itself as my iPhone 4 connects with absolutely no problems running iOS 7 and as do other Apple products that my family owns.
    I have a 13", Mid 2012 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.3 with bluetooth version 4.2.4f1 13674 (v131 c5492)

  • MacBook Pro Bluetooth won't connect with iPhone4s

I am trying to connect my iPhone 4s bluetooth with my Macbook pro, but it won't let me connect . Sometimes it would say "Andrew's Mac Book is not a supported device" or  "Make sure 'Andrew's Mac Book Pro' is turned on and in range" (My macbook is right next to my phone and its on. Why won't it connect?

You can't connect to your Mac to transfer data via Bluetooth. You can connect your Mac using the Hotspot feature to access the Internet via the iPhone.

What does it means, and how to prevent this from happening again?

    Eric,
If you are prepared to shell out 75 Euro, I can thoroughly recommend this:
    http://www.novamedia.de/epages/e_produkte_macl2n.html
It worked for me after weeks of trying every other solution. Theyhave a demo mode which allows you to connect a few times for five minutes each time, so you can check it works okay with your 'phone.

  • MacBook Pro bluetooth cannot see Officejet 100

According to HP instructions, when I attempt to add a printer (via System Preferences), I should select the HP Officejet 100 "with Bluetooth beside its name."  It does not show up.  If I ask bluetooth to find a device, the printer doesn't show up.  I bought this model specifically for the ability to print via bluetooth and it will not work.  Suggestions?  I'm using a MacBook Pro 15" 2011 model, OS 10.7.4 (and yes, I downloaded the drivers and software from HP per the instructions - I did not use the CD provided with the printer).

Did you pair the printer with the computer?
To do so, perform the following steps:
    1. Click the Bluetooth icon in the main toolbar, and then click Set Up Bluetooth Device.
    2. Click your printer. The computer will display a random code while it attempts to connect to the printer.
    3. Click Passcode Options.
For Mac OS X 10.6, click Continue to attempt the connection. The connection attempt fails, but this is normal. Click Passcode Options .
    4. Click Do not use a passcode with this device, and then follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device.
If I have been helpful or if you’d like to say thanks you can click the white star under my name to give me Kudos.  I really appreciate it!
    Best of luck,
    Kyle
