MacBook Pro Calendar + To Do

How do I sync my iCal "to do" list, the one that is actually attached to the calendar, to my iPod Touch? Do I have to reenter the to-dos in the calendar notes section at the bottom of the card? That would mean I would have to go through the calendar events, even though the to-do isn't realted to the event. I would like to keep the to-dos within iCal instead of just writing in the app Notes which is not date specific.

Assuming you have an IMAP email account set up on your iphone, the to do list which you have created in Apple Mail and which shows up in iCal under your email account calendars, will show up on the iPhone in a mail folder titled "Apple To do". Go to your IMAP email account and you will find it with the other mail folders.

  • HT1386 I am trying to sync my iPod Touches calendar to my MacBook Pro calendar. I have been successful at syncing the events from my MacBook Pro's iCal to the iPod but haven't been able to sync the events from my iPod to my MacBook Pro. Is this possible?

I have an iPod touch that I often use to manage different events for work. I have been able to sync the events on my calendar from my MacBook Pro to the iPod touch successfully using wifi. What I really need to do though is sync my iPod calendar events to my MacBook Pro calendar. Is this possible? How do I set this up? It would be a huge help if I could transfer the events on my iPod calendar to my computers calendar. I currently have the wifi sync option on and have turned on the sync calendars option in iTunes. Thank you for your help!

How do I correct the discrepancy between birthday entries on my iPhone and my Macbook Pro Calendar? Say I entered June 11 on my iPhone and it will appear in my Calendar as June 12-- one day late! I use iCloud to sync Calendar and Contacts in my Apple devices.

You can probably find ways to sync Google with Outlook if you need, but I suspect that's not your point!

  • HT5824 how to save macbook pro calendar to icloud

How do I save the Calendar from my MacBook Pro to the iCloud to link with my iPhone?
    Thanks,
    Josef

10.6 does not meet the requirements for iCloud. There is a hack which may work for you for calendars, as described here - this is unsupported and there is no guarantee that it will continue to work.
To make full use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • How do I sync my iPhone calendar entries back into my MacBook Pro Calendar?

I can't get appointments scheduled via Siri to update or sync bact to my MacBook Pro.  I have iCloud, and I have iTunes synced, but the appointments scheduled in iPhone's Calendar do not appear in the MacBook Calendar.

If you are syncing your calendar with iCloud on both your phone and your MBP, check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) to be sure you have selected your iCloud calendar as your default.  Then try adding a new event on your iPhone calendar and see if it syncs to your MBP now.

  • Iphone 6 calendar stopped syncing with Macbook pro calendar

My new iPhone 6 was syncing with the calendar on my MacBook Pro but just stopped. iCloud is enabled on both devices.

It just started working again. Not sure what changed.

  • Since I updated to Lion, my ipod calendar & macbook pro calendar do not sync.

I don't understand how to set up the iCloud settings so that my ipod and MacBook calendar sync. What settings do I adjust? I have 2 apple ids - does that affect how icloud works if I don't use the same one for each app that syncs to iCloud. I think that may be the problem, but I still don't understand iCloud.
    Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
It seems like the address book does sync.

  • "Merging data" error when syncing iPhone 5s Calendar to MacBook Pro Calendar, using Mountain Lion

Since a failed attempt to sync data via iCloud (resulting in duplicate entries in Calendar and Contacts, missing data, and other oddities), whenever I try to sync the Calendars via iTunes, I repeatedly get the error message, "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone <name> because an error occurred while merging data." The Contacts sync fine, and the backup runs smoothly. The only discussions I can find in Apple Support are dated 2009 with older systems (I'm using Mountain Lion 10.8.5, iTunes 11.1.5, iOS 7.1.1, but the problem occurred with iOS 7.0 and possibly 6.0 as well). Repairing permissions had no effect. I can't use the option to copy the Mac Calendar to the iPhone because new data are entered into the iPhone. Would appreciate guidance. I'm trying to avoid iCloud but if I have to go there to fix this, guidance for that would also be welcome.

I have iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.4 and iMac with Mavericks 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.2.1.
I also got this error when I tried to sync iPhone with iMac (after a year when Apple disabled local USB cabel sync in Mavericks - thanks Apple for re-enabling it!).
I tried a number of things to no avail. Finally I tried three things - and hurraaa, can sync now! Unfortunatelly I didn't test sync among these three steps - so don't know which one fixed it - up to you to try. My guess is that it was the 3rd step, actually
Step 1: On my iPhone I opened Calendar and tap "Calendars" (top left). I have 7 items on the list (2 email accounts, Calendar, Home, Work, Reminders, Birthdays). Most of the calendar entries were in my Home calendar, only a few were in Work or Birthdays. I moved all of them to Home. I also checked whether there aren't any items without content.
Step 2: On the list of Calendars I had one custom item (Birthday in my local language). This item had only one entry in it. I deleted both the single entry and the custom item as a whole - so I left the default categories only.
Step 3: At the top of the list of Calendars there is an item "All from My Mac". I tapped this and thus enabled all of my calendar categories. Now the sync worked like a charm!
I actually noticed that when I synced, iTunes automatically checked all items under "Sync Calendars - Selected Calendars". Even if I manually deselected all except the "Home" calendar, as soon as I started to sync, iTunes checked all items automatically. This led me to thinking that if I check "All from My Mac" item in my iPhone it might work.
Good luck with your sync issue, hope you'll solve it.

  • Macbook pro calendar not syncing (via iCloud) with iPhone 4s

After looking through a few discussions I see some users having issues in syncing their calendars (from their computer) on to their iphone.
I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and this seems to be the key issue.
I was showed from an Apple genius that when syncing via icloud (and to avoid duplicate calendar entries) is to uncheck sync, contacts and calendars.
Which I have and I do have icloud "ON" in my phone. But whenever I update my calendar entries on my Apple laptop it no longer syncs to the iphone.
Would anyone have any leads as to why it's no longer syncing? I'm pretty good at troubleshooting but I'm at a loss with this one.
    thanks in advance    Aimee

  • Sync MacBook Pro calendar with iPhone calendar

Please help, I can't seem to find answers to this problem:
Calendar on MBP won't sync with iPhone Calendar.
    MBP OS X 10.9.2
    iPhone 4S ios 7.0.6

Hi BovRz, thanks for your reply - could you please "dumb it down" for me? I need specific instructions because I'm not used to iCloud at all.
Also, could you possible explain to me the difference between my Apple ID and my old @me.com ID?
I appreciate your help very much and I thank you kindly.

  • Calendar on MacBook Pro using Mavericks 10.9 will not sync with Google Apps for Business

Ever since the Mavericks upgrade, I have had problems syncing my MacBook Pro Calendar with my Google Apps for Business Accopunt.  When Mavericks first came out, I could do a work-around and set up a second CalDev account and that worked for a while.  But with the most recent update to Mavericks, in part apparently to solve Google integration issies, the Calendar app will not sync either through the mail account setup in System pref, or by setting up a separate CalDev account.  I have no functioning Calendar on my MacBook, thogh the CalDev account option works fine on my iPhone and iPad, and of course all work on the PC with Google Apps Sync.
Appreciate any advice, or better appreciate if Apple were to get this right ASAP.

Thank you for your answer, unfortunately that is not the solution. I found the plug-in where it was already properly installed in the Root Level Library>Internet Plug-ins Folder.  It was NOT to be found in the [User Name]>Library>Internet Plug-Ins Folder, so I copied it there from the Root Level Folder, Rebooted, deleted all cookies, signed in to Netflix, and I still get the same:
    Thanks for installing
Once installation is complete please restart your browser to watch this movie.
So, I tried a complete re-install of Mavericks OSX 10.9, from scratch. I checked all Internet Plug-In Folders and the latest version Silverlight Plug-in is in all of them. Still, I get the same:
    Thanks for installing
Once installation is complete please restart your browser to watch this movie.
    Any other Suggestions?

  • Syncing Calendar from MacBook Pro to MacBook

I would like to i-sync my 'work' MacBook Pro calendar with my family home MacBook calendar.(Both 10.5.8). I have registered both and the i-sync recognizes them but when i hit 'sync' to update the calendars nothing happens.
However the Address Book does sync successfully. The calendar used to sync and I have updated software on both computers.
Calendar box is ticked in both I-sync preferences.I am a mobile-me member.
Having searched the support pages and forums I can find no lucid help so far.

To get going with Google calendar:
    1. Go to [Google Calendar|http://calendar.google.com> and click the Create Account button.
    2. After you've created an account, you have a default calendar with your name. You can add additional calendars by clicking on the 'add' link under "My Calendars"
    3. To add your Google Calendar to iCal, start iCal.
    4. Select "Preferences..." from the "iCal" menu, and then click on the "Accounts" item in the preferences toolbar.
    5. Click the little "+" in the lower left corner of the dialog.
    6. In new account dialog, select "Google" as the account type, and provide the e-mail address and password you used in setting up the Google Calendar account.
    7. After you do that, you should be able click on the 'Delegation' tab and check off which calendars associated with your Google Calendar account you'd like to sync with iCal (other people can share their calendars with you, and they will also appear in the delegate list).
Perform the same process on all the machines / accounts that you want synced with Google calendar. You'll actually need to log into Google Calendar in order to share and change permissions on calendars since iCal doesn't support that.
Note that setting up your iOS device to sync with Google Calendar is even easier.

  • Synching iPad Calendar to MacBook Pro

I am able to enter events in my MacBook Pro calendar and they show up on my iPad calendar, but not vice versa. I have run through set up twice, rebooted iPad, both calendars. Contacts went from iPad to MacBook, but not Calendar.

    Hey Calypso2012,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities, and thanks for the question. I would check out this article and see if that resolves the issue. It'll go over troubleshooting steps for iCloud Calendar:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3999
Alternatively, if you're syncing using iTunes instead of using iCloud Calendar, you can check this next one out. Before doing that though, you'll want to follow the first two steps it goes over, including resetting sync history.
