MacBook Pro casing blocking slot-drive

My MacBook Pro's right corner casing (above the slot drive) was pushed down so hard that the slot drive was curved that pushing a CD inside was impossible. I was able to lift it up which gave it terrible scratch marks. The cloth that prevents dusts from going in is a bit damaged. I am able to put CD-ROM's inside but it scratches it considerably. My Slot-drive is scratch sensitive that the slightest scratches on a CD will give it a hard time reading.
I don't know how this happened and I am wondering if it's possible for me to go to the Apple store to get some repairs. I really dislike the look of the scratches and my warranty has ended. I don't know what to do. Please help.

If you replace the Top Case, you will probably need to replace the keyboard as well, since it is held down with adhesive and is very hard to unstick and transfer without damage:

Sounds like you'll need to access that drive while it is not booted. You need to replace it anyway, so do that, then one way or another (ext enclusure, et), access it and copy files.
If you keep trying to boot it, you might kill it for good and not get your files, so just swap it out first.

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

It can't be done. If your computer has an internal optical drive, working or not, that is the drive you must use. Only computers such as the Macbook Pro Retina/Macbook Air that have no internal optical drive can install Windows from an external drive.

Like I said, I bought one of their inexpensive enclosures and now can use the hard drive just as a source for the files that are on it...my external drives are much larger and faster so I just plug that drive in when I need something from it.

More then likely that external drive is formatted the Windows NTFS format which Mac OS X can Read but it can not Write to that format. So you would need to copy all the data off that drive, to either a Windows PC or to your Mac, thenn use the Mac to format it for the Mac OS. Which would be Mac Extended (Journaled) with a Partition Table of GUID.
If you want to use that drive on both Mac and PC then you would need to format it either FAT32 or exFAT.

I have a complete, legitimate, registered version of CS5 Master Collection. I also have a new Macbook Pro with no DVD drive. I have lost the disk, but have the box and confirmation email when I registered the product, with the key code. This product cost alot of money and I really need to get it onto my new machine. Can I do this without having the additional cost of a new DVD drive? I already paid for and own the software with keys so it's not like I'm trying to bend anything or do it for free. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
