Macbook Pro charger broken still under warranty

My macbook pro charger has a little split. The charger in still in the warranty period but I don't have the receipt. Just wondering will Apple replace my charger?

Check you warranty status here:

If the warranty is in effect, I should think the charger would be coverrd if the problem is not caused by abuse.
Ciao.

  • Macbook pro charger broken in China, warranty?

Says it all in the question, meanwhile I have had my Macbook Pro for nearly 4 months and the charger is on it's way out. I was wondering if it may still be covered by the manufacturers warranty? The main problem is that I'm currently in China for the longterm and was bought in the UK. Is it possible to get it exchanged here?
    Thank you,
    Chris

I don't see how I'm going to prove that it's within the warranty period, surely they will be able to check at the store you would think?

Will Apple replace IPad charger for me? Still under warranty.

If it's not working as a result of a built-in fault, yes. If there's damage that you've caused, probably not.

  • Will apple replace my macbook lcd display if still under warranty ?

    Please help me ASAP

Is the MacBook LCD physically damaged? Physical damage is not covered by the Terms and Conditions of your limited warranty.
If the MacBook LCD is flawed or defective then it's replacement would be covered by your limited warranty.
    The limited warranty can be found here;

    I hope this helps!

You posted in the iPad forum instead of the MacBook Pro forum. To get answers to your question, next time post in the proper forum. See https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa  I'll request that Apple relocate your post.

  • My macbook pro is still under warranty.  I have just put it into Mac 1 to be repaired because I had the folder with the dreaded Question mark on it....new hard drive.  I was told that if I wanted my data retrieved, I would have to pay $445 p/h. Ahh!!!

My newest Mac just did the same "folder of death" dance. It's too late for you now, but you might consider a passport backup drive. You can get 2&3 T-bytes now fairly reasonably priced. A given with computers is they will crash, just a question of how bad and when, so you can be prepared for the next time.

My Charger is broken but still under warranty but I'm not near any apple stores, can I just call I send my old one back and they send me a new one

No. You must call and make an arrangement to return yours for a replacement. They will set up the return and send you a box and shipping label. Then you send your old charger, cable, etc. back. A new one will be returned to you.
Do not simply send something to Apple.

Did you purchase Apple Care prior to your 1 year warranty expiring?

  • Macbook pro charger wire broken

My macbook pro's charger has broken at the neck, right under the magnetic part that attaches to the computer. The wire inside is not frayed. It seems to have come apart.
I have only had my macbook pro for 5 months and did not expect to happen.
Also, I have read a lot of similar complaints on this forum.
The technical support team here in India is not proving to be very helpful and my work is suffering a lot as a result of this sudden damage.
Considering my product is still under warranty, can I expect a replacement asap?
A prompt reply would be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Shruti

Should not have any problem. Take it to an Apple store or call Aplle support to get a replacement.

  • My macbook pro charger does not work!! I have extended warranty/Guarantee from the store, do they exchange or give me a new one?

    Hi,
There is a problem with my MacBook Pro Charger. It was working for a few months, but then it just doesnt work. My laptop doesnt charge!!
I have an extended guarantee from the store, i got my laptop, does it apply Warrantee/Guarantee? There is no problem with my laptop, cause it charges all fine with my wife's charger!
    Thanks

In as much as we here are not the store the best thing to do is bring it back and have them give you a new one. You should be most certainly covered under warranty. (As long as your dog didn't eat it).

  • Screen is broken...still under warranty?

my screen cracked and i asked the tech guys about it. they said that they can repair it free of charge. so i click on the link they give me and it says i have to purchase their service. how to i get them to repair it for free? and it is still under warranty.

look i know that there was some ipods that were
having lcd issues and the screen was cracking inside
instead of externally. that WAS covered by the
warranty, or have u not read previous posts where it
was covered. don't get all snotty with me in ur
replies either. u Don't know everything
That was a very very very small fraction of iPod nanos. I do not believe that iPods are still experiencing that.
    From this article...
Our figures show this issue has affected less than 1/10 of 1 per cent of the total iPod nano units that we've shipped (as of that point--many months ago). I doubt that newer iPod nanos are having the same issue.

  • IPhone Charger still under warranty?

I have an iPhone still under warranty and while pulling the cable out of the wall charger a piece of the charger (inside the charger) broke off. I do not believe that I pulled the charger too hard but removing the cable from the charger was always difficult from the moment I got my phone. I know that all accesseries that come with the phone are under warranty, but would my charger still be considered under warranty if a piece actually broke off from the inside of the charger while removing the cable?

Your best option would be to visit and Apple store genius bar and have the iPhone and charger checked by the techs and replaced if faulty.  You could also contact Apple customer support for service, http://www.apple.com/contact or click the Support button at the upper left part of this page and follow the links to iPhone service.
The best approach, though would be a visit to the Apple store if you can do that.

  • Iphone 5 won't charge unless I wiggle the cable around to fine a spot where it works. It's not the cable/charger as it works perfectly in other iPhone 5's. I haven't even had it a year so it's still under warranty and the phone is in very good condition

Iphone 5 won't charge unless I wiggle the cable around to fine a spot where it works. It's not the cable/charger as it works perfectly in other iPhone 5's. I haven't even had it a year so it's still under warranty and the phone is in very good condition and has never been abused/dropped etc. I'm taking it into apple tomorrow for an appointment. Has anyone had this problem? if so, what happens? thanks

I had the same problem and took my iPhone 5 into the Apple store.  What happened was a little embarrassing.  The genius took out a "special tool" (a paper clip) and began digging out an unimaginable amount of lint from the lightning connector port.  After that I was able to connect the cord and charge without any issues.
A few days after, I realized that my problems associated with the remote/mic not working on my ear pods might be due to the same issue.  (The volume and action buttons on the ear pods sometimes were not responsive)  I grabbed a paper clip and began digging.  Again, a large wad of lint came out of the headphone port and my ear pods have worked perfectly since.

  • What would apple do if my ipod touch is broken and is still under warranty?

What would apple do if my ipod touch is broken and is still under warranty?

It depends on how it was broken. Apple are very strict when it comes to enforcing warrantys so unless the damage was a result of a manufacturing error then you have little chance of having your device replaced or serviced without having to pay a fee.
    The warranty states that Apple do not cover;
damage resulting from accident - ie. accidentally dropping it
    liquid damage
    disassembly
unauthorised service - ie. trying to fix the hardware yourself
    unauthorised modifications - ie. "jailbreaking"

  • MacBook Pro charger overheating.

MacBook Pro charger overheating replaced it and new one is overheating also don't know if its the charger causing the the problem.

Yikes!  I assume you mean that thing some people use to smooth out their clothes?
Are you still under warranty?  I would take it in to make sure it's not something on the computer side.
