Macbook pro charger light flickering, tried smc reset and undoing cord in back inside computer, nothing working....

I have tried to do everything I can find in previous forums, ex: smc reset, removing back panel and undoing cord for a min, nothing seems to work, any ideas please.

Magsafe light glows very very faintly (barely visible in a room with lights on).

Is it a 15" or 17" MBP? There have been logic board issues with that model.

If it's a 13" take the bottom off and disconnect the battery:

So only do this through step #3!
Wait 10 seconds. Push the power button for 5 seconds. Wait 10 seconds. Reconnect the battery. Put the bottom back on don't screw it on just yet. Tape it temporarily in place and try to start it

Do other USB devices work on your MBP?
Does this USB stick work on other MBPs?
There is a possibility that the stick requires more power than the MBP delivers. Try it on a powered hub.

Macbook Pro charger light is orange. I has always been green before. This time I got a "low battery" warning at about 20%. When I plugged in charger it went immediately to zero and the light is orange. Problem?

How large is your HD and how much space do you have left?
Check out the following & do the necessary:
Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
Try SU again.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.

Yesterday I noticed that my mbp 2011 dos not sleep when closing the screen cover. Today I Turner my laptop in. However the fan was working loudly and stayed loud. After Start I noticed an X on Battery symbol. Clicking on it, it showed 'no battery.' I found out that a potential solution for this problem was SMC reset. I also noticed that the leds on magsafe was not lightning. Despite this I tried to execute the smc reset as described on apple support site. Switching off, plugin the magsafe connector, pushed the buttons shift + alt+ ctrl + power. Then i pushed the power button, but my mbp is not turning on. I pushed several times on the power button but nothing works. The magsafe is also dark meaning the leds not lightning. Can anyone here help me on this ?

I have been a proud owner of Apple products for many years. However, this problem is very frustrating! Any help will be appreciated. I used the migration tool to transfer the contents of my old MacBook Pro to my new shiny MacBook Pro Retina! After migration finished I tried to access my new MacBook Pro retina. However, when asking me to log in it refuses to accept the passwords from either the new MacBook or the old one! I do not have the option of using my Apple ID either.... Please help! Restart holding down the CMD+R keys, launch Disk Utility and erase the HD, quit DU, and restore the OS. On first boot, use the Setup Assistant to do the migration. Details in Pondini's Setup New Mac guide.

My Macbook Pro ran out of battery last night and wouldn't turn back on even when connected to power for a period of time. However, when I woke up, it did turn on. Is there a reason this happened and should I get it looked at?

Last night, I was watching something on my Macbook Pro and it died (out of battery). I went to plug it in and waited a couple of minutes to try and start it back up. However, when I connected the power source the light was green, which could not have been the case since I know 100% it was out of battery. I proceeded to hold the start button for a long period of time, but my computer made no noise and refused to turn on - it looked like for all intensive purposes it was dead. I left it alone overnight praying that it would be alright in the morning and luckily, when I opened the computer this morning it was restarted and fine. I'm concerned because I've had this happen to me a couple of times and while it always turns back on, I feel like there is a bigger issue that I need to get addressed. Can anyone help me with this? Any ideas? Thank you!

After migrating CS3 to new Macbook Pro Retina... I get and error: "Licensing for this product has stopped working"...

Don't have old discs to reinstall nor serial number (unless I can use the serial number that appears on the product info on my previous mac).
I know that there are other forums indicating some steps to take. I've tried some of these steps but have not had much luck.
If I reinstall the programs on my old mac I am afraid that I wont be able to re-access them if I cant get either computer to work...

The problem is that migrating Adobe applications doesn't work.
You'll have to clean all the CS stuff off the new computer with the Adobe Cleaner tool:

Then install with a new clean install file here:

However, be aware that CS3 often does not work on the latest Mac OS X versions!

There is no 'Erase and Install' command on a Mac with a Recovery Partition (Command+R), please check your research again.

HT3964 SMC Reset and Battery still not charging

Few months ago my battery wont charge, I performed a SMC Reset and the battery gets to work fine again. Recently the battery is not charging again right after a long period of inactivity when the macbook air was not plugged or use it for months. Now is working only if it´s plugged to the electrical socket.
I have been reset the SMC on my macbook air but still my battery is not charging, it is 0% and when I disconnect the magsafe it will turn off. What else should I do?

A four year battery could be dead. I'd contact an Apple Service Center.

I would do another SMC reset. If nothing changes you should take the computer in to an Apple store for a free diagnostic. You should make an appointment.

This didn't work for me, so I did a bit of searching and TONS of pages later in google, I found an answer. Here are the steps for people who also were in my situation:
1. Take off bottom case
2. Unplug battery - blurry image here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/03cC79r5Dx4/0.jpg
3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
4. Plug a charger in, and it should start booting up
5. After shutting down again, reconnect the battery and close the case up
6. It works! (hopefully, if you guys had the same situation I did)
