MacBook Pro charger port, MacBook Pro charger port
Hallo there
My MacBook Pro 17 charger port broke and I was wondering if apple replaces the logic board or just the charger port and howuch would that all cost
For definitive information an appointment at an Apple store genius bar will be required. Upon inspection, the technician will be able to tell what repairs will be required and the costs. We cannot examine your MBP from here.
Ciao.

Can I use my thunderbolt display without charging my macbook pro?
First off- Here's what I have-
2012 13 inch Macbook Pro
2.5 GHz Intel core i5
8GB RAM
Stock 500GB 5400rpm HDD
Mountain Lion OSX
Anyone know how I can use my thunderbolt without charging my Macbook Pro?
Also, my Thunderbolt jack, port, and my overall computer get really hot when I'm using my display. Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks!Ohhh I see it now.... The thing is I only have 13 cycles on my battery, but the max is only 92% percent charge... I thought that would be the charger charging my MBP and using the battery at the same time.... Another thing, would you happen to know why I have a max of 92% charge and only 13 cycles? (Two different apps are telling me the same thing...)

How to fix magsafe port Macbook Pro early 2011
For a while I struggled to charge my Macbook Pro, so I decided to buy a new charger. It worked fine for a couple weeks but now it has started to do the same thing. I have to spend like maybe 3-4 min wiggling the charger until it finally starts, and then I have to keep it perfectly still for it to charge. Recently my macbook stopped charging completely. The magsafe port looks very burned (its kind of black). Also the area around the magsafe port is always HOT, even before the charging issues. How can fix this issue? Is this common for Macbook Pro early 2011 13" ? I don't have apple coverage at this time.
Sean, see if these troubleshooting tips help:Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters if not, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out.

I have a Macbook pro 13.3 w/ i5 that has no hdmi port. I want to be able to connect the Mac to my TV set to watch Video, Photos and files from Mac to TV.
Is the Thunderbolt port similar to a display port or mini display port? Can I use thunderbolt port to connect thru a mini displayport to HDMI cable or converter?
Been trying to locate a USB to HDMI cable or converter (at a reasonable price) but all I found is a displayport or mini displayport to HDMI cable/converter.
What other options are available ?
Thanks a lot for your assistance.Thunderbolt uses a Mini DisplayPort adapter to send video and audio to HDMI. How to charge my MacBook Pro Retina for the first time?
I just bought a brand new MacBook Pro 15inch 2.7ghz 16GB RAM model. I want to know how am I supposed to charge the laptop for the first time & plus charging cycles as I continue to use it later on? I've had bad experiences with the iP
There's mixed responses upon Googling the question, some say let it drain completely with others say to charge it when the battery reaches between 25%-5%. Currently my battery charge is at 33% and I haven't used it much either, say maximum an hour's usage in the past 6hours or so from the time I received it and it has not been on standby except for an hour, the remaining time, it was switched off completely. HELP.Interesting, looking at this page from Apple http://www.apple.com/batteries/ and then following the links at the bottom for each device (notebook, iPod, iPad, iPhone) Apple seems to be recommending one deep cycle a month, that is a discharge to 0 and then a full charge.
For example from the iPhone page:
Use iPhone Regularly
For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
So is Apple wrong here, or are they using different technology? -
How to connect MacBook Pro 17" Mountain Lion with HDMI port on TV, Panasonic TC-P55ST50
Any experience with cables for connecting MacBook Pro 17" Mountain Lion with HDMI port on TV, Panasonic TC-P55ST50 (or similar)?
It depend upon the model (age) of you MBP. If you have a Thunderbolt or minidisplay port, then you will need a minidisplay/HDMI adapter.
eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/CBLMDPHDMI/
Or you can get an all in one:
http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Premium-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt/dp/B004CADYD O/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1361985588&sr=1-3&keywords=minidisplay+hd mi
If you have an older mac with a DVI port, you will need something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/DVI-HDMI-Cable-6ft-Male-Male/dp/B0002CZHN6
Note that audio is supported via HDMI for MBPs 2010 and later. Earlier ones require tapping the audio output port.

I have an Apple MacBook Pro with 2 USB ports and a MiniDisplay Port. I also have an HDTV with a HDMI port. How can I use the TV as a display without any tethering wires between my computer and the TV? I have a MiniDisplay Port to VGA adapter, but there are two issues with it: The new display doesn't have a VGA port, and even if it did, I wouldn't want to have my mac constantly attached to the display by a cable. I was looking for a way to use the TV as a display without any wires. Is there some type of bluetooth setup I could use? Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
As I wrote above, I think you should look into the Apple TV yourself. The best place to find information about what it can and can't do and to ask your own specific questions is probably in the Apple TV forum, here:

HT3382 Connect from a MacBook Pro's mini display port to a Display Port monitor?
Hello everyone,
Is it possible to connect from a MacBook Pro's mini display port to a Display Port monitor with resolutions higher than 1920 x 1200? It seems Apple does not supply a mini-DP to DP adapter.
However, just as they do not make a mini-DP to HDMI adapter, but they do recommend a Belkin product for this purpose.
Is there any reason that a mini-DP to DP adapter or cable wouldn't work and support high resolutions?
Thanks for your feedback!danz0r wrote:
Hey tjk,
Thanks for the response.
Do you have any recommendations for a potential set up? The audio output and Apple DVI are on different sides of my MBP, which is alright, I guess I can get two long cables to handle each. I was hoping to just have my MBP closer to where I use it, with a cord nearby plugged in on one side to the HDTV and resting near where I keep my MBP for when I want to use the HDTV as an external monitor.
With a converter like this, you can run video out of the MBP's DVI port, and miniToslink (optical) audio out of the 3.5mm stereo mini jack to the converter, then it will combine the two and output audio and video through HDMI to the monitor.
http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/apogee-dvi-to-hdmi-converter-spdif-opti cal-toslink-coaxial-input-output?utm_source=cj&utm_medium=aff&utm_content=HDMI+A ccessories
Otherwise, depending on the TV's inputs, for video you could run DVI to DVI on the TV, or DVI to HDMI to the TV. For audio you could run 3.5mm stereo mini plug from the MBP to RCA adapter on the TV. Toslink/optical is also an option. -
So a few weeks ago my MacBook Pro 2011 started having charging problems. I would use it normally. Then plug it in to charge anywhere between 5-20 percent like I've been doing for the past year that I've had it (since August 2011). Anyway, what happens now is that it charges but extremely slowly - at least 4 hours to fully charge as opposed to the 1 1/2 to 2 hours that it used to take. Also, it seems to be draining a lot quicker than it used to while only browsing the internet. Furthermore, while charging, the battery meter goes from the percent its charged to to "not charging" back and forth. What's going on? Is there a problem with my battery, my computer, or the magsafe charger? [please refer to the pictures below to get a better understanding of my problem - these pictures were taken over a 2 hour time period - a time period that usually is enough to charge my computer] - if you'll notice, in the first two pictures, the percent barely went up by 10 in a half hour period:

Thank you,
macstrtry doing a SMC RESET and see if that sorts it out for you.
if doesn't work - better take it to Apple and have them look at it before something else goes wrong...
good luck - hope you get it sorted out.. -

hi, i have a late 2008 15 inch macbook pro, which have a mini display port.
I noticed that thunderbolt and mini display port looks a like. So, my question is :
can i connect thunderbolt duo hard drive to the mini display port of a late 2008 macbook pro which do not have thunderbolt port, but have mini display port.
thank youken94538,
no, you’d need a Thunderbolt-to-FireWire adapter or Thunderbolt-to-USB adapter to be able to access your Thunderbolt hard drive from your 2008 MacBook Pro. -
Hello. I recently pieced together a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15". Everything works fine except the battery constantly goes between "not charging" and "calculating" or, rarely "charging". It does charge after a long while and will report that it is charged.
I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC a couple of time but that didn't work so I ran an Apple Hardware Test and while testing the logic board it gives the following error:
4SNS/1/40000000 LB1T
I've done some research and found this is a temperature sensor related to the battery, but cannot find where the sensor is located in the computer. Would you know how I can find the sensor to test it? Could my battery problem be related to something else? Would a fresh install of Lion help?
Thank you!
Mike
Two pieces of information that may or may not b helpful, the hard drive is from my early 2008 MBP and the only test disc I have access to is from an iMac.Why do you have LION installed on that older machine?
So you say you built a macbook from a bucket of parts eh? Kudos
heres a pic of the battery temp sensor -
Why does my macbook pro "goes to sleep" when charging?
Why does my macbook pro "goes to sleep" when charging? It is working fine without charging but once I attach the charger to my laptop, it just blacks out or goes to sleep mode and I can't wake it up unless I unpluck the charger.
I read from threads that it is a logic board problem....How do I solve this problem?Try an SMC reset. Follow the method for "a battery you should not remove yourself."
