Macbook pro doesn't reboot after using Titanium Maintenance

Hi there,
I have used "Maintenace - Titanium" software to clear system chache, fonts cache and user cache.
After aplied the changes, the system automaticly rebooted.
The problem is the system can't reboot properly, inmediatly after rebooting I get 3 different icons flashing randomly very quickly in the center of the grey sreen:
- A question mark folder icon
- the regular Apple icon
- A forbiden mark icon
Most of the time the icon is the forbidden mark icon. After 3-4 minutos de machine shuts down.
I have already rebooted using the hide partition system, and verified/reparir files and disk.
Please, any ideas on this?

I've got the same problem but with QT player (not PRO version)
I've installed the 7.1.2 update for quicktime and the audio and videos files on the net doesn't start I've got a "?" then I go to the quicktime prefs and I see that the entire QT plugins disapear

so ,is someone can help me for finding the whole QT plugins ?
If it was impossible ,I suggest you to make a 7.0.4 reinstaller for 7.1.2 for Quicktime

Available space on MacBook Pro Doesn't Update After Moving Files to iCloud Drive

I need to free up space on my MacBook Pro and have moved about 10 GB of files from my MacBook Pro to my iCloud Drive; however, the available space on my MacBook Pro doesn't show that 10 GB additional space available. How do I get my MacBook Pro available space to recognize that additional 10 GB as available?

No. Sorry. You may want to look into something like the WD My Cloud drive. I've seen the 2TB version refurbished on the WD site for as low as $99 recently. I considered one myself, but I'm not pushed for space as I have an iMac at home with a 500 GB internal drive and 4TB of external storage attached. I don't need that much accessible remotely. What I do need I sync with Dropbox or OneDrive (which also behave the same way as iCloud drive in that they sync to local storage and still consume disk space).

MACBOOK PRO / WON'T REBOOT / AFTER AUTOMATIC MAC UPDATE 06.FEB.2013

I am using Macbook Pro Mid 2010 with OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
JUST RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION THAT APP STORE DID SOME UPDATE SO MAC NEEDS TO RESTART.
I CLICKED "YES".
NEXT THING I KNOW IS THAT IT IS UPDATING/INSTALLING, AND IT ATTEMPTS TO REBOOT. BUT IT DOESN'T.
ACTUALLY IT SHOWS THE USUAL START UP WHITE/OFF-WHITE COLOR SCREEN WITH THE APPLE LOGO IN THE MIDDLE, AND THERE IS A "DOWNLOAD/INSTALL HORIZONTAL BAR". IT "SHADES/DONE" AROUND 20% AND THEN THE MAC GOES OFF. BLACK SCREEN. SWITCHES OFF.
I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES. BUT RESULT IS BAD. NO LUCK.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WAS THIS UPDATE. I WAS TIRED SO I DIDN'T PAY ANY ATTENTION.
PLEASE HELP.

If you want to preserve the data on the boot drive, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
1. Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup) or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in the support article linked below, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”

MacBook Pro doesn't boot after crash.

I only had it for a few month (Novebmer 2011).
It crashed while playing an online game and wouldn't let me close the game so I forced a restart by pressing the On/Off button. Trying to start back up I get a grey screen with an Apple logo and a ton of command line text with weird looking codes.
I already tried:
Disconnecting all USB devices.
Botting in Safe Mode (by holing down shift):
Works. Repaired permissons and tried to repair disk. Both tell me it's fine now but I still can't boot normally.
I also turned off Bluetooth just in case my Apple keyboard or touchpad are interfering.
Resetting RAM (by holding down command-option-P-R):No change.
Booting from the repair partiton (by holding down command-R):
Doesn't give me and options but also a grey screen just without the error messages I get when booting normally.
(I don't have a start-up disk to use as the new MacBook Pros don't ship with one.)

The MacBook was bought from a Premium Reseller and they changed the RAM for me. I have the original lieing next to me but don't quite dare to change anything myself as I'm afraid I might break something and just make it worse. Given it's from a Premium Reseller I assume it should be apple approved or whatever though.
My second problem is that I'm in France and don't speak French so going to the Apple store is kind of a last resort. (And probably not a good experience.)
I'd be more than grateful for any tips on what else I could try.

What I think has happened is in the process of doing a Force Shut Down you have totally corrupted the hard drive.
Destroying even the Recovery partition.
Now this could be because of a hardware failure, like for some reason the hard drive just crapped out (it can happen at any time).
You can try to boot the computer from the internet, Apples web server. You do that by holding down the Command+R key combo as soon as you hit the power button.
If that does not take you to the internet boot system then you will more then likely have to wait for your Bar appointment.

It looks like your computer is only starting up to the prohibitory sign (circle and slash), and I know this may be worrying.
There are several steps that may help your Mac start up normally that are found in Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup.
For example, try these steps first:
Disconnect, test peripheral devices and network cables
Note: "Peripheral devices" refers to external devices other than what came with your Mac, such as hard drives, printers, or hubs that you connect via a USB or FireWire cable.
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Disconnect all peripheral devices such as external hard drives or printers (leave only the display, a keyboard, and mouse connected).
Disconnect any Ethernet cables.
Start up your Mac.
If you can start up this way, one or more of your peripheral devices (or installed software related to the device) is probably causing the gray screen issue. Connect one device, then restart your Mac to test for the issue. Repeat the process until you locate the device at issue. Make sure the device is powered if it needs to be to operate correctly. Check with the manufacturer of the device for support or possible software driver or firmware updates that may be available for the device. Try a different cable with the device if possible (such as a different USB or FireWire cable).
Note: If you have multiple peripheral devices and the issue only occurs when they are all connected, but not when each device is the only peripheral connected, see the Additional Information section below.
If you are using a desktop Mac with a third-party keyboard and/or mouse device, and the issue still occurs, try starting up with an Apple keyboard and mouse connected instead. Try starting with no keyboard and mouse connected, then connect them after start up. Also, try a different USB port on your Mac.
If the gray screen issue persists with no devices connected, go to the next section (with the peripherals still disconnected).
Perform a Safe Boot
Simply performing a Safe Boot may resolve this issue.
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Start your Mac, then immediately hold the Shift key. This performs a Safe Boot. Advanced tip: If you want to see the status of a Safe Boot as it progresses, you can hold Shift-Command-V during start up (instead of just Shift).
Note: A Safe Boot takes longer than a typical start up because it includes a disk check and other operations.
If your Mac starts up as expected, immediately try restarting.
If the Safe Boot does not work, or the restart after a successful Safe Boot does not work, go to the next section.
Reset the NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Reset the NVRAM / PRAM.
If the gray screen issue persists, go to the next section.

Macbook pro doesn't boot after iOS upgrade

Hi all,
I've upgraded my macbook pro (was requested automatically the upgrade) and after reboot to finish the installation, my macbook doesn't boot up.
Is there any way to boot it up? A kind of boot in safe mode?
I'm trying to power it up but nothing. It doesn't boot at all.

iOS is for iPhone, iPad not for Mac. So what upgrade are you referring to?

This morning after I installed the new iTune updates (11.2.?), the macbook pro just flashed with some color stripes and then screen went black. I need to long hold reboot key to turn it off and turn it back on.
My iPhone was connecting with the Macbook during the update. I am not sure if this is connected to the issue. I unplugged iPhone and rebooted the Macbook. But right after I log in, the color stripe things came again and the macbook went dead. Now it is stuck in this status. I think I need to bring it to the apple store and have the "genius" guys fix it

Macbook pro won't reboot after installing lion

After installing Lion on a 2007 MacBook pro, it won't reboot. Just gets to the gray screen with the spinning wheel. Have tried re-installing and disk repair to no avail. Anyone else figured out how to fix?

Lion only runs on Intel based systems which have to be core2duo. with a minimum of 2GB RAM.
If these is given on your system, in most cases it comes from running old PPC-Applications which are not longer supported since Lion.
Try to start your MB in "Safe Mode" by holding option key (alt) imediately after first chime and disable / delete this applications.

MacBook Pro won't reboot after Lion update

I have updated my new MacBook Pro (2.3GHz I7 15"), and everything seemed to be working fine. Something was chugging away at the system resources when I was away from my computer and when I came back, I decided to reboot the system.
Now all that will happen is boot up to the Apple logo and spin the little grey circle, for an hour! I don't know what to do, help my computer is useless!
I have booted into the recovery partition and repaired permissions, but it did not help. Anyone have any ideas?

Macbook pro doesn't start after a long time of inactivity

hi,
MAC OS doesn't start when I switch on my macbook after a long time of inactivity. The HD seems to turn, the non activity led is on but nothing on screen.
I have to switch off the machine by pressing the start button during five seconds and then switch on again to launch MAC OS without problem.
the problem doesn't appear if the macbook has been switched off for a short time and only appears after a long time of inactivity
I dont'know if their is a hardware problem? can somebody help me?

I have a the problem when the MBP is in sleep mode too for one hour for example. It doesn't wake up and the behaviour is the same as a power on.(power ok, hd turns , blank screen, activity led on, no launch of MAC OS)
I call apple support . They told me to look at the ram stick in order to find if the ram is in good place.
No differences , the problem is still present after disconnection an reconnection of RAM.
did someone find a fix at this issue?

Late 2008 Macbook Pro doesn't boot after installing Mavericks

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro, dual core 2.53 GHZ, 4 GB Ram (2x2).
I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this computer to boot up. Many things have been tried here. So here's the history.
Before starting this, I was running 10.6.8 on this computer.
First time I tried to install Mavericks, the installation failed, and when the computer went to restart, it just went in a loop, never really booting up, just getting the to gray screen with the apple symbol, spinning the wheel, and then going black again, restarting, and repeat. So, I took it into the Apple Genius Bar, and they diagnosed a bad battery. I replaced the battery, and had them do a clean restore back to 10.6.8.
I got it home, and tried to do an install again. This time, I downloaded the installer, and put in on an external firewire drive, and attempted to do a clean install of Mavericks. I ended up with the same boot failure problem.
I went back to the apple genius bar, and even though the diagnotics said my harddrive was fine, they said in the troubleshooting list, that the harddrive with the first thing they suspected. So, I replaced the harddrive. I did the Mavericks install again from an external HD, and for a moment, everything was great. It booted up into Mavericks. But, after my first restart, the problem was boot failure was back.
After reading a few articles, I tried booting in Safe mode. That worked. I also ran disk repair on the HD and it looked great. Still, it won't boot up out of Safe mode.
After being very frustrated, I tried just installing snow leopard from the dvd, but the install keeps failing.
Not sure what to do next.

rather than a hard drive problem, you might have a faulty internal SATA cable. Do you have an external disk enclosure, or a SATA-to-USB or SATA-to-FireWire adapter? If you can boot from your hard drive without problems when it’s external, but it remains problematic internally, then that could point to the internal SATA cable as the culprit.

MacBook Pro doesn't boot after attempting hard drive install

Here is what happened:
Installed new hard drive and ram upgrade.
Hit power button. (Nothing on the display or keyboard turned on.)
Heard the optical drive turn on every few seconds.
Held down the power button until it turned back off.
Installed the old hard drive and ram so everything I did was reversed like I did nothing at all.
Pressed power button.
Heard optical drive turn on (no chime noise-just the drive.)
Still no display on (it remains black.)
Tried resetting the smc. No changes.
Tried to attempt a pram reset. Nothing.
Battery shows full charge. Charger shows green light when plugged into computer.
Idk what I could have done or not done to make this happen.
MacBook Pro 15" 3,1 early 2008 or earlier.
Running mountain lion.

I fixed the issue. I researched many many forums and found no help on any of them, and sorry-no help on this one either.
What solved the issue - and I hope this helps someone else who has the same problem:
1). Install new hard drive (with or without osx pre installed)
2). Remove all ram
3). Power on and wait 1 minute
4). Hold power button until it turns off
5). Install ram
6). Power back on
7). BOOM! It works again.
