MacBook Pro Error code -2104F
Hello, I just bought this macbook off craigslist and I need to restore the computer to factory settings. I got it to go almost the entire way but then for some reason the download just stopped. So I tried it again and Everytime I get to the Internet recovery step( the very first step) I get the error code -2104F. Please help me, what can I do, what does the code even mean?
Howdy Walffe,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an issue with OS X Internet Recovery on a MacBook Pro that you just purchased. I imagine that would be frustrating, but I do want to point you to the article linked below which outlines the supported network configurations and protocols for Internet Recovery which may explain why you're running into the issue.

I have a Macbook Pro 15inch which I purchased in November 2011 and I have a Failure Code on the hardware diagnostics showing 4MEM/61/40000000: 0X843ba098. What does this mean.
I double checked the RAM are seated correctly, reinstalled, switched the them around and still show the same error in report. I copied for your review, any ideas? Is there another scan or system test I can try?

Install Flash from CS5 on new Macbook Pro errors
Hi,
I just tried to install my CS5 Master Collection on my new MacBook Pro. All the programs installed properly except Flash Pro. I understand why I have errors for Flash Player but the rest, I'm not sure how to move forward to get this installed. I tried opening Flash Pro anyway but it tells me to reinstall. I have tried 2 times now.
Any thoughts? I know I'm missing something or am I screwed since I'm using a Mac, which hates flash and CS6 is out on top of that factor?

Cannot write to external HD from MacBook. Error Code -36
Whenever I attempt to write to my Western Digital External HD (500 gb formatted HFS+m, USB 2.0 connection), I receive a Finder Error:
"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "filename" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)
This happens just a little bit ago as I was transferring files over with intent to perform a back up >.< I was in the process of transferring one file when the error initially occurred. Had disk utility try to repair the disk, and it says the disk is fine. The knowledge base is...less than useful in regards to this. There was no power issue during transfer (MacBook was plugged in), nothing else except Safari was running for basic web browsing. I can pull information off of the drive just fine. I cannot add, however.
Any idea as to a solution for this?
Message was edited by: Lezard Valeth1Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately, most of those would not apply since its almost all files that are having issues. None of them are password protected, in use by system (as far as activity monitor tells me. Tried after several restarts to no avail, unplugging the Ext. HD from the system, etc). I removed non-standard formating (tried simple names).
I have noticed, however, that small files seem to copy; it's almost like it's having issues with the file size. Smaller files, for example, a 21.9 mb video I made, copy alright. Larger files do not.
I can copy off of the drive, but not onto the drive. There should be around 320 gb left on the drive. What I would like to do is reformat the Mac or the HD, but unfortunately, I don't have the storage space elsewhere to back up what is on the drive (tis why I downloaded it in the first place), and I need to back stuff up on my MacBook still, hence the attempts at writing to the drive. I could probably have my multimedia machine take some of the data from the Macbook, but I really would rather try to find a direct cause, if possible, for future reference and to see if this is going to be an ongoing issue. -
SMS Relay on MacBook Pro - Verification Code won't pop up.
Howdy!
Got everything updated to 8.1 and to Yosemite. Have a 4s, MacBook Pro and an iPad mini. Working on setting up the SMS relay for my wife. (These are all her devices). iPad fired up right away, no issues. Verification code came up, and voila! messages on both iPhone and iPad. Well and good. Then comes the MacBook. Not so lucky there. I've been working on it for about 2 hours now, and I'm coming to the community here to assist.
This is what i've done so far, after reading other community questions and following instructions:
1) Verified that iCloud address is the same on all devices.
2) Switched "send new messages from:" to the iCloud email. No Dice - Switched back to Phone number.
3) Signed out of iCloud on all devices, sign back in, and wait 15 minutes. Also No Dice. (Again, iPad fired up right away).
4) Turned Message forwarding on and off on iPhone about 6 times. Still No dice.
5) Verified that all are on the same Wifi network.
On trying all of these things, I still can't get the verification code to pop up on the MacBook. I'd appreciate any assistance/ideas/suggestions that y'all could offer.
Thanks in advance!Howdy!

Installing AUTHENTIC windows 7 ultimate 64bit on Macbook Pro - ERROR, help!
I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64bit (not the beta or RC, this is an authentic windows 7 DVD -- signature edition) on my macbook pro using Bootcamp. When the computer tries to reboot, i get a message that says:
1.
2.
select cd-rom boot type:"
I saw forum posts with this problem where people were using improperly burned windows 7 versions, however, this is not a burned DVD -- its authentic from microsoft. This means i cant reburn the dvd...
Any suggestions?!Did you by any chance install Snow Leopard on your MacBook Pro?
My MacBook Pro was working perfectly fine. Installed windows many times the last 2-3 years and never had problems.
I installed Snow Leopard a couple weeks ago and since then I get this exact same error with all my Windows Install discs (ones that always worked before!).
Whatever I do. I can't get any Windows installed anymore.
The discs are fine, Bootcamp menu reads it and recognise it. But the moment you try boot from it you end up with the error the OP is describing!
And all this, after I installed Snow Leopard. Restoring to previous versions of MacOSX did not help!
So it seems that the Snow Leopard installation does something to the DVD drives on the MacBook Pro's (upgrading firmware whatever) and now it's ruined!! -
Macbook Pro error and need to know about back up. Urgent!
Hi guys
I hope you can help. I'm a mac newbie but have a problem here. I have a macbook pro 15.4, the latest unibody one. I have only had it for a couple of months and now it will not restart... It crashed downloading emails and then now never gets past the apple logo with the spinning thing below. It keeps restarting by itself but no joy...;(
Anyway, I read around and tried everything I could find. Safe mode doesn't even start and then in the hardware test mode (hold 't' down) I ran the simple test no problems then the extended test and I ws given this error: 4HDD/11/40000004: SATA(0,0)
I'm guessing hard disk issue. DO I will go tomorrow to the local service centre here in Bangkok (that will be an experience I am sure ;)) but my issue is I don't have any back-ups. The reason is I back up to my time machine from my other mac, an iMac so I didn't worry about the MacBook Pro.
The question is how I back up now or even batter would be if I can back up the iMac saved back up to my Macbook Pro later after it's fixed as they are both running identical data and programs etc...
Is that possible or is the iMac back up not compatible with my MacBook Pro?
If yes, how will I restore the MacBook Pro later and what will I have lost if anything?
If no, what do I do now before I go to the service centre?
Sorry for the longwinded expose but I guess you get my drift now.
I am assuming that this is a repair job in any case or is their a way of fixing a 4HDD/11/40000004: SATA(0,0) error???
Thanks in advance for any help on this...
By the way, both my macs were fine until they downloaded the latest safari version and then both went haywire. I went back to the older version and the iMac is fine but the MacBook Pro has never been happy since. Not sure if this is the rot of the problem or I am just unlucky as this is a brand new machine...
Cheers

As for data if you dont have a backup of the data before your Macbook Pro crashed you may not be able to recover it. If you do have a recent backup of your Macbook Pro on your time capsule you should be ok.
I always push for both onsite backup and offsite backup to prevent issues just like this. But it all depends on the value of the data you are backing up. -

Virtue.appYou've installed many apps it seems that modify Mac OS X behavior. Some of these I would question whether they are Universal apps, and even if they are whether they could still be the cause of the problem. One I would look at would be DocJector. Haven't used it myself, but it does have something to do with volume mounting doesn't it?
Many programs such as this are great, but when you start crapping up your system with too many programs of this nature your asking for problems, not to mention the troubleshooting headache. -
My laptop is a 2009/2010 MacBook Pro. I recently updated to the latest iOS Mountain Lion. I had some pending purchases (already paid for, ready to download) in my app store but I first did the update. Now, whenever I try to download my purchased apps I get an Error 1004. I have tried to give it time, I have tried restarting my computer, I have tried signing out and coming back. Nothing so far has worked. I am not that computer savvy so some of the suggestions I have found online honestly confuse the **** out of me. Also, I think the age of my Mac is a player. I would really appreciate some help on this.

MacBook Air error code page upon startup
If anyone could help, I have no experience or knowledge at all about how to fix my MacBook Air!
Basically I used my laptop as normal last week and upon startup today, a grey error code page appears and I can't get past it, basically my laptop is not usable just now.
The error coding is along the lines of:
Unable to find driver for this platform
Debugger called: <panic>
Mac OS version: not yet set
Something about kernel versions?
I've tried to reinstall my OS X mountain lion but it was taking hours and not making a single bit of progress, can anyone suggest anything? I have no idea which version of Mountain Lion I have/had so I just selected the earliest one...Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I was wondering if everyone was receiving a hardware error when they run a hardware test. I receive error 4SNS/1/40000000:'TmOP'. I have looked on the board and notice other people have received this message. I was wondering if there was anyone here that DOESN'T receive that message when they do a hardware test. Does anyone know what this error message is actually from?
Thank,
ChrisI have both the whining and buzzing noise on mine but I'm not getting any errors when I run the hardware test. Go figure.
