Macbook pro install spinning

I have just downloaded Creative cloud and am trying to install on my 2010 MacBook Pro with OS 10.9.3
When I install I am not getting the signon button, just a blue spinning. I saw the signon button blip by once but then it went right to the spinning.
I enabled and am installing as root (found in another article)
I've rebooted the Mac
Nothing is working
It sounds like this is a common issue, what has worked for others?
Thanks
Ali

Thanks for the link
I actually got the spinning error fixed with support last night by deleting the opm.db. Then I tried to launch Photoshop and it just crashes. so I tried the suggestion to log out and back in but that didn't work
then I found another article stating to make sure I had read write permission for my user in Library> Preferences> Adobe
The rights looked ok except for Everyone, so I gave everyone full read/ Write and now I'm back to the spinning blue circle and can't log in.
I'm going in circles here trying to just get started so I looked at the link that you provided and am going through the steps
When I go to https://lm.licenses.adobe.com/ it fails
My hosts file is OK, that link works and shows both logos
I also looked at the hosts file and it doesn't have entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) so there's nothing to delete
Then I got on the chat with support for about 2 hours. He took control of my mac and tried all kinds of stuff. We even went into Safe Mode and tried again. Nothing worked
He then asked me to uninstall CC and then create a new user account on the Mac and install under that account.
I tried that but got the same issue
I'm lost, this shouldn't be this difficult, I'm back to the spinning CC when I launch it

Where can I download a macbook pro install dvd for my Macbook pro 2.2 because i lost mine...

I don't think you can actually download the install DVD. If you call Apple they can send you the install DVD for a nominal fee +S&H. You will need to provide them with the serial number for your Mac to see if it's registered to you.

  • Can I use macbook pro install Disk with macbook?

    Hi everyone,
I have a macbook and macbook pro, I had to reinstall system after harddrive went on the macbook. I can't find my macbook restore disks/installation disks. Would I be able to use the macbook pro install disks with macbook?
    Much appreciate your help.
    Mo

It might work but it's risky. The MBP installation disks may well not contain the right drivers for the MacBook. It would be better, if at all possible, if you contacted Apple tech support and asked for a new set of disks for your MacBook. They'll send you a set for a reasonable fee. If you can't wait, perhaps there's an Apple Store or other Apple dealer near you that would have a set you could borrow in-store to do the reinstallation.

  • Macbook Pro Install Disc

Hello i was wondering if the Macbook Pro Install disc Version 3A136 - 10.5.2 2008 would work on a 17" macbook pro.
Even though it doesn't actually say on the original disk that it is for a 15" MAcbook Pro.
    Cheers
    Adam

No, you need the grey disks that came with the 17" or a later sold copy of the Snow Leopard restail disks that have your hardware drivers on it.
Call Apple with your serial number for the grey disks, the white Snow you can stil buy online in places.
If your new 2011 machine came factory installed with Lion you can't go back to Snow unless you follow "the procedure" here and the risk is all yours.

  • Macbook Pro 13 - Spinning Wheel of Death and stalling...

My year old Macbook Pro 13 inch has been oddly acting up for the past few days. When I click on almost anything I get the colorful, spinning sign that its loading and either 1. takes forever to load to the next task 2. or freezes up until I have to restart it. I have to keep one thing running at a time now to even do the simpliest of tasks. Macs should be able to handle a few processes at once such as: google chrome, itunes, and word being open at the same time. Or google chrome, itunes, imail, icalender at the same time have worked too with out it bogging down. Now I feel like my whole new, only year old laptop is out of commision and I have work I need to get done. It works so slow, that I'm surprised its even a mac, for the way its acting. What can i do to clear this? Is it an application using too much, or did I get a virus without knowing it???
    Please and thank you!
    -Alyse

This is not the work of any kind of malware.
Most likely, this is the result of some bad third-party software you have installed, but there are a number of other possibilities as well. Try the suggestions in my Mac Performance Guide, and if that doesn't help, post back here with details on what you tried and what the results were.

  • My macbook pro frooze, "spinning wheel of death", I tried to force quit.  When that failed I held down the power button.  Now I can't get by the white apple start up screen, the wheel just keeps spinning and nothing will happen...HELP!

    Again,
My macbook pro just frooze while on-line.  I got the rainbow wheel spinnin and it wouldn't stop I tried to do a force quit and I was unable to do that.  So I held down the power button.  Now when I try to restart it I can't get by the while page with the apple symbol on it.  All I have is the grey circle spinning continuosly like it is working.  I tried a command S when I started it back up and checked the HD and rebooted, still can't get by the startup page.  Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. I started an automatic upgrade that then got "stuck" for hours. I did a hard shut down and now all I get when I try to reboot is the spinning wheel. I haven't done a backup in 3 months and can't afford to lose everything in a reinstall. Any suggestions?

  • I need urgent help with my macbook pro, installed a theme and now unable to open windows, please help !

    Hello,
I installed a theme on OS X Lion that was actually made for snow leapor, because on a youtube video someone said it works with Lion too,
After installing it I got problems seeing close and minize icons.
And After reinstalling my Macbook pro, I am unable to open finder, Safari, Terminal etc.
I have tried to get help from several help forums, and tried changing files as described here

    Theme was downloaded from here

Okay, it's both for your first question: When I import the songs to the library, the songs are not in the correct order as they were on the CD. And, in the process of my importing the songs, the library scrambles the songs in different sections of the library (I explain further below)
I don't know what you mean by "little triangle" pointing up or down. What's that got to do with the price of fish in China? lol
When I get the music in the library the songs come out sorted this way: 2 songs from CD 1 appear one section of the library, then 1 song from CD 2 appears in the next column, along with the album work. Then, I go down farther, and there's a few more of the songs from CD 1 in the next section. I go down again, and maybe 2 or 3 songs are in that column. Along with the artwork for that CD. Then I scroll down again in the library, and there's maybe 3 or 4 songs from CD 1 there. Get the picture? It keeps sorting the songs in that order. And yes, the CDs I was importing were compliation dance CDs, along with some from the same artist, like Barry Manilow.
I hope I answered the questions better so that you can help me Thanks in advance, Glenn

  • Installing 10.6 on iMac using MacBook Pro install DVD

    Hi
I have a 24inch intel 2 core iMac from early 2008 with 10.5.6 installed and I just bought a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. I want to upgrade my iMac to 10.6 but before I purchase it I wanted to check if my apps etc would work.
I used the MacBook Pro dvd to install to an external drive and then I restored that drive. I then migrated my iMac install unto the external 10.6 drive and I am now running from the external drive on the iMac.
All seems to be ok for now but should this work? Do the different cd's have specific drivers or setup specific to the device i.e. might I be missing software or have the wrong software installed and thus invalidating my test?
Yes, I know what I have done is not strictly allowed but there is no other way to test an install without purchasing and I can't afford downtime to fix any problems.
    Thanks

    Hi cypher6x;
If you are willing to ignore the fact of it being illegal, then you will be leaving yourself open to the fact that the vast majority of the time when one uses hardware specific DVD for different hardware it doesn't install at all. When it does it usually causes more problems that it is worth so go ahead and pay the $29 and do it legally and correctly.
    Allan
It installs and runs. I will purchase the proper dvd *IF all my apps works ok* otherwise I will not be upgrading anytime soon. I am just trying to ascertain if my test is valid.
It would cost Apple more to package up different dvds for all their products. I imagine they may have different installers though that selects the items.
Either or, it will be hard to say unless I do a diff against fresh installs using both dvd's.

  • Boot camp, windows xp and macbook pro-install problem

    MacBook Pro 1,1
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
    Boot Camp Windows XP
I installed a SSD and want to put Windows XP back on the computer.
I had Windows XP running under Boot Camp on my old HDD.
During the Windows XP install when it tells you to
press ENTER to install Windows XP
press R to repair a Windows install
    press F3 to exit
I can't get the install to accept any input from the keyboard.
I tried searching the discussions but I'm not finding the answer.
I'm sure it is just something simple I'm not doing. I had Windows XP
running on this MacBook Pro before.
    Thanks

I wonder if your XP works with SSD or some SSDs have had trouble with Windows on Macs...
I'd search out PC forums + brand SSD for starters users with XP.
Everyone I run across though have moved on to Windows 7 64-bit.

  • Macbook Pro installed windows 7 professional and no audio :(

i've serached for sulutions all around the web and nothing, i've recently installed windows 7 in my macbook pro(newones) for school matters and there's no audio :s
    Things I tried:
    install dirvers from cd included
    install realtek drivers manually
    reinstall windows 7

At this point, if you try installing driver again, try using Driver Sweeper 2.0 from Guru3D to sweep and delete drivers in addition to uninstalling. That can clean things up and help, but I am at a loss and just from reading seems mixed results on MBP as to which ones to use and work or not.
So do browse through today's posts. Though I am perplexed MacRumors couldn't help - seems mixed and the Mac Pro section sometimes more help than Windows on Mac. Though the MacBook area you tried also?
