MacBook Pro is glitching after downloading OS 10.8.2
Okay so I upgraded to OS 10.8.2 a couple days ago and now Messages is glitchy (grabs texts form a couple days ago and puts them where the most recent texts should go, so i'll be reading through my texts and realize they're completely out of order and so is the Mail app (i have different accounts on the app and i was trying to go to each one and it couldn't figure out which emails went in which inboxes and just now the desktop in my mission control was moved (which you can't do) and whenever I took an app off of a space, the screen would open up in the dashboard...I don't know what to do. I've tried turning it off, restarting it, etc. The only thing I can think of to do is just back up EVERYTHING then wipe my computer and redownload mountain lion? I don't know.

July 2010 Macbook Pro restarting constantly after downloading mountain lion
I downloaded the new OS Mountain Lion upgrading from Snow Leopard a while ago. Ever since this, it reboots/restarts randomly and consantly. My Mac has some good days where there are long intervals before it restarts on its own but its getting quite annoying. When it shows me the report when it says your computer restarted because of a problem its usually a "kernal" thing. I'm not too tech savvy but, I'm wondering if there's a way to fix this. Mind you, I don't have any time capsule things set up. I think my options are either wiping the hard drive or trying to find a way to uninstall and reinstall mountain lion. If anyone has a suggestion that varies or is different i'd love to hear it. If anyone also would like to email me about this so you can get back quicker my email is: everxdream@g

Spotlight may be indexing your drive(s). Click the Spotlight icon at the right of your menubar; if it shows things being indexed, that's at least some of the reason.

I do not know my apple administrator username and password. How do I find out what it is? I am trying to download IBM Notes and Domino onto my MacBook Pro and I cannot download the software without verifying my apple administrator username and password.

I have plugged a portable battery to the USB and my macbook pro stopped working after that, right before it shut down there was a message on the screen that said something like " USB device is withdrawing so much power, please disconnect and connect again?
if the device I connected have caused this, shouldn't the macbook itself have some type of protection that should prevent this from happening.
because when I took it to an apple certified maintenance shop, the guy said that now it could only run while connected to the power. it won't run on batteries. and that I have to change the motherboard.
can I just replace the damaged part only, would apple consider this as a design issue and they could pay for it, or should I just buy a new motherboard for 800$.

The problem is in finding a tech shop that will/can do board level repairs on Macs. They are few. And I certainly wouldn't spend $800 on a new logic board - I would replace the computer if I had to pay that much!
You could call around to a few repair shops and see if they feel competent to isolate the problem and do a board level repair - but I'm afraid, in the end, that your search will be futile.

I had to replace the corrupted hard drive in my macbook pro recently, and after I did so I did a full factory software & application restore. I had to rebuild my iTunes Library by dragging my music folders in my iTunes Media into the iTunes Application and rebuild my playlists manually. After plugging my iPhone 5 into the computer USB, it immediately recognized my iPhone 5, showing: last backups, space left on my iPhone & all options available. I then checked the box to manually manage music etc. The problem I am now having is that when I actually try to drag music from my iTunes to my phone a prompt comes up saying that my iPhone is not an authorized device. What should I do? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!

iOS runs on iPads and iPhones; OS X runs on Macs.
Given your situation, I’d highly recommended that you purchase a SATA-to-USB adapter, so that you can test both your old disk and your new disk externally, since it might be that the problem is due to a faulty internal SATA cable rather than due to faulty disks. -
just bought macbook pro and want to download purchases I have already made from itunes apps but when it says downloaded can't find it. I have run a search and found it in my mac but unable to open or do anything?? Do not understand what is happening.

Not sure if that same Application is designed for Mac Os x, Search for Applications on App Store instead of iTunes on your Macbook Pro, as Applications available on iTunes Store on a Macbook is designed to work only on iOS Device like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and whatever is available on App Store on Mac is designed for Mac Os x. -

I have a 1st generation MacBook Pro and I recently downloaded OS X Maverick. My iTunes will not open because it says i need a 64 bit version. Already followed the promted instructions but no luck. Any suggestions??

I'm no technical expert, I just like to help out whenever or wherever I can so... I don't know if this can help you, but let me tell you about how I got my Snow Leopard to run in 64 bit mode. When I got my (late 2008) iMac it was running in 32 bit mode under Tiger (2.4 GHz/Core 2 Duo). I eventually upgraded to Snow Leopard & it was running in 32 bit mode (by default) w/1 GB RAM.
Somewhere along the line, I happened to watch a YouTube Video that showed how to upgrade an iMac's RAM, so I ordered two - 2GB sticks of Crucial RAM and then - under the guidance of the 14 or 15 year-old young man who posted the video on YouTube; wearing a rather fashionable static-electricity-neutralizer-wrist-strap, I removed 1GB of RAM & plugged in the 4GBs of RAM. So - boom like that, it was like I bought a brand new machine.
It was over a year later when I stumbled across a way to boot Snow Leopard into 64 bit mode. Turns out that if you boot while holding down the 6 & 4 key combo (the ones above the QWERTY keys), then the machine runs in 64 bit mode. Go figure. Now my Snow Leopard and just about all of my applications - with the ironic exception of iTunes - runs in 64 bit. iTunes seems fine though; if there's a performance bottleneck, I really can't tell.
Well, that's about it..
I hope that something I've mentioned can help you achieve your overall goal.
