Macbook Pro - It won't let me re-install OSX (Loading won't finish).
Okay so I erased my MacBook Pro completely. Everything was fine until I re-installed, attempted* to re-install the OS X.
Everything went perfectly until it kept saying 30 minutes remaining and the loading would not finish. So I would re-install it, the download would be over, then it would restard again for some weird reason.
Now I am using online help..
The "Importing" message can be cause by a corruption of your iPhoto library - then uninstalling will not help. Try this:
Force Quit iPhoto:
From the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen: > Force quit ⌥⌘⎋
Then select iPhoto from the panel.
Then fix your iPhoto library and remove the "Importing" folder from the library -

Hi All, realy hope you uys can help me with this one, so i brought a 2nd hand 15Inch Macbook pro (post 2008 style)
2.8, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD
been working fine for the past 3 weeks and then on sunday while trying to copy filed off an SD Card the Beachball was spinning away and nothing was responding, so decided to force a restart,
then it decided to just hang on the Apple logo with the spinning wheel.
Used the install CD to do a disk utility, it wouldn't let me run it, wouldn't let me re-install or anything.
i removed the HDD and ran disk utility and disk warrior on the imac, they found errors but corrected them, put back into the macbook and still nothing.
so i took the macbook into Apple, they ran the hardware diagnostics which returned everything was working, i was assured that the problem was the HDD, so ordered up a seagate hybrid SSD Drive, popped it in and… nothing
still wont let me install OSX
Wont let me run any kind of disk utilities on the HDD
the HDD seems sound, ive plugged it into the iMac, it reads fine, ive formatted it and its all ready to be installed
please someone help me before the mac finds itself flying through my window, if i can lock down where the problem is at least i can go about getting it fixed.

AndyWell took it down to the apple store again, and explained that the New HDD was still playing up and would not install the OS, so they tried replacing the flex cable and HUZZAH! it worked

I am using my old iPhone for playlist for my Dad's funeral as that meets the crematorium requirements. Some tracks - uploaded from personal CDs to MacBook Pro and successfully transferred to new iPhone (with small doc) won't transfer on syncing. Most do, but why won't some, of my own music sync when others off the same album and in the same playlist do? I have now checked the storage, freed up 766MB, how can i not sync (and get everything i've just deleted back) but upload the required tunes? All help appreciated, many thanks x x x

it won't anyways. except or apps, you are entitled to one download only. there4 it is important to back up.

I HATE my new MACBOOK PRO, it will not let me open any PDF files and I downloaded the ADOBE READER three freaking times and it keeps saying that all the files are corrupt or damaged. I would rather have my 2008 Dell at this point. what is wrong with this thing
Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder. -

Get Info (command-i) on your backup volume, under Sharing & Permissions be sure Ignore Ownereship is not checked marked. Here's what I get for a clone...

Update to 9.5.1 from the AppStore.
Sign ino the AppStore with your AppleID and check, if there is iPhoto on your Purchased tab to be accepted to your AppleID. If yes, accept it. Then check the "Updates" tab of the App Store.
If you cannot update this way, download an update from the Software update section of the Apple Support page. You need to update at least to version iPhoto 9.4.3.
What MacOS version did you upgrade from? Did your Mac come with system installation media, or did you install and update from the AppStore? -

Hi, I have Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard all ready to install on my MacBook Pro with serial number (validated) and internet (but all windows/programs closed), but right when I get to the window that says "install" or customize, it won't let me click Install. It changes color when I click it, but does nothing.
I tried to quit then put disc back in, but no dice.
Ideas?copy the installation files from your cd to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
make sure you have no antivirus/antimalware running. if that fails, start in safe mode and then install from that directory. -
I have two questions...
1) If I do a clean install on my MacBook Pro will I be able to re-install apps (FCP, Aperture, MS Office etc.) from a Time Machine backup, or will I need the original install DVDs with authorization codes? (because I don't have them)
2) Has anyone ever seen anything like this before on their computers?
The Apple Genius' were stumped by my laptop issues and said they'd never seen anything like it before and recommended I did a clean install. Below you can see my trash bin, and if you look at the "Empty" button it reads "N201" and then there's the "N39" to the left of it. You can also see these numbers over by the folder area--"SD5, SD6, SD7." But that's not all...
When I right click on items I see the numbers again. Instead of "Open with" I get "N152" and there's an "N35" and "LB1" towards the bottom.
I have no idea what's going on so I'm just going to do a clean install on my machine but I don't want to lose my apps. I don't have the original install DVDs for them anymore. You need a USB drive to install the Windows support software. It contains all the drivers that your MacBook Pro needs, and you will have to install them after finishing the Windows installation. If you don't install them, a lot of things won't work: the wireless card, the sound card, the brightness, the trackpad gestures... Apart from that, you don't need it for anything else.

Hello, I need help with my macbook pro.
It looks like I cannot install anything anymore. Everytime I try to install a new software, I simply get stuck during the installation type process. I put in my password, it does accept it, but it does not go any further.
I tried to reset the password, put no password, repair the permissions, the disk but nothing will do. I nearly got stuck with the log in screen but finally succeeded in disabling it.
So I thought I might try to create a new account but I cannot click the lock to make changes. It simply refuses to react.
I am now thinking about using the migration assistant to save all my settings, data and so fourth, but again I get stuck when I have to type in my password. It accepts it but nothing happens...
I guess it has something to do with the authorization process, but can't find anything on the internet about it... Can you help me out?
I am running Lion 10.7.3.

First, backup your system. Next, reboot your system, press/hold the COMMAND-R keys to boot into the Recovery HD. Select 'Reinstall Mac OS X'. If you purchased Lion as an upgrade to Snow Leopard, the reinstall process will install Lion 10.7.3. If your system came preinstalled with Lion, you might still get Lion 10.7.2. Both installs are a total install of the OS. None of your apps or data will be impacted. Just the OS. -
Able to install the .ipa signed with distribution certificate using iTunes on MacBook Pro. where as the when tried to install using iTune on PC is causing a problem
The sound input going to the mic is not going to pipe through the speakers like that. It doesn't do it because it would cause a feedback loop on itself. The mic input will take sound and output it to a program or to another pathway (like a VoIP or Facetime call, etc.) but it won't behave like a Karaoke machine if that's what you're thinking.

My ipod won't let me connect to wi-fi, won't let me restore or reset it, and it keeps telling me i knew a passcode for any one and I never set a password up. How do I fix this? Says try again in 6180146 min. my passcode setting is off, but restrictions are on. Very frustrated. please help

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
