Macbook Pro keep ejecting OSX disc. It won't boot.

I bought a Mac OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard CD (Family Pack) to upgrade on my Macbook Pro, but it won't boot.
There are sound like it was running but it reject in the end. My Macbook Pro is Intel Core Duo 2GHz
with 2GB Ram. It is currently running OSX 10.5.8.
I tried the disc on other Macbook running 10.6.6 purchased 2-3 years ago and it work.
So i don't really know what happen with mine. My DVD drive work fine though.
Anyone have an idea need help please.
OK I did it anyway. It make my Mac work faster a bit. For example cursur arrown moves smoother.
But still doesn't solve ejecting Leopard disc problem. Do you have any other suggestion?
By the way I was able to sucessfully install Leopard on other Mac. It seem like mine is the only problem.

MacBook Pro keeps trying to start but won't.
I have a fairly old (6 years?) MacBook Pro 17", Model A1212, that only starts up when left connected to the power adapter for several hours but then dies. It has become gradually worse over the last 6 months to the point that it now just gets the desktop screen up, at best, then powers off. Sometimes the apple screen comes up. But usually it doesn't get beyond a black screen. I press the on button, fans started whirring, then after a few seconds there's a little wheeze and a beep and it turns off! It sometimes keeps trying to start up on its own but never does successfully.
The battery is fine. The fans are fine.
I guess a visit to an apple shop is due but I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer before doing that.

Is it possible to recover individual files from my Macbook Pro's HD even if it won't boot?
Recently, my Macbook Pro would slow down longer than usual as I was performing menial tasks, like internet surfing, and so I tried to clear the memory by restarting it. It only went up to a white screen from there, and when I turned it off by holding the power button and turned it back on, it would only boot up to the white screen with the Apple logo and a spinning wheel and progress bar below it.
Mine is a late-2011 13-in Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion. I've tried every way that I've found to try and repair the disk, like using Disk Utility to try and repair my HD (I get the message telling me to back up as many files as possible, then reformatting my hard drive), to "fsck"-ing (I get the messages "Incorrect block count for file live.4.indexPositions" and "disk0s2: I/O error"), and even to using Sungle-User mode to try and delete that "live.4.indexPositions" file (I get told that no such file exists).
I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that my only remaining option is to reformat my HD, but I was wondering if it was possible for me to maybe cut and paste some of my documents and pictures to an external HD before I reformatted because I don't have them anywhere else. Is it possible? I know I should've made a back-up before it all happened, but alas, my lack of a big-enough external HD rendered me un-cautious.Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Your hard drive is broken and you can't erase it. The only option you have is to take it to a company that can recover your files from the hard disk, because you can't do anything with it.
If you want, you can try to take it out, put a new hard disk and install Mac OS X. Then, use a USB to SATA adapter to connect the old hard drive to your MacBook and try to recover your files, but probably you won't be able to access to the data -
Trying to upgrade to snow leopard and my macbook pro keeps ejecting the DVD-R
I downloaded snow leopard and am attempting to burn it to DVD-R, as per the instructions, but everytime i insert the DVD-R (Maxell 4.7 GB) it spits it right back out.
Did you download Snow Leopard (ie, Mac OS X 10.6)? If so, you have gotten it illegally, as it is not available for download legally. You should delete whatever you downloaded, as it could possibly contain malware.
If, OTOH, you purchased and downloaded Lion (10.7) from the App Store, then it sounds like there's either something wrong with the disk you're trying to use or with your optical drive. Try putting the installer on an 8 GB flash drive instead, I like that approach better anyway. (BTW, what instructions are you following, in this case?) -
It powers up, gets to the login screen, accepts my entry, then stops.
(NOTE: Running original start-up disk, I noticed OS on computer is 10.5.8 and the disk is 10.5.7)

I'm trying to upgrade from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard but my macbook keeps ejecting the disc. It started to install the first time and said it needed to restart to finish, restarted but ejected the disc. It ejects every time now. I've also installed the 10.5.8 combo update but that didn't help it. I've tried restarting the macbook with the disc in, holding c, all that. Why won't this work?!
Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try again.

the disc is spinning and I see the apple on the screen with the spinning gear and after a while it just turns off OR the few times it does get past that point when I go into disc utility it tells me that it can not install on this machine!

I'm not entirely sure I follow you here, home sharing comes with iTunes 10.2, so far as I am aware even iTunes 10.6.1 only requires OS X 10.5.8 or better. On that basis I'm not sure why you think you have a problem. -
I have a MacBook Pro running mac osx 10.8, Screen saver keeps reverting to national geographic photos.
Just found this solution on another website. I tried it and it works. No more polar bears and Savannahs!
Apparently if you put it in the folder called "Desktop Pictures" it will work.
So, copy whatever folder of pictures you would like to use as your screensaver and then go to:
Macintosh HD>Library > Desktop Pictures
Paste your folder into this folder called "Desktop Pictures".
You may have to enter the administrator code (the password you use to open your mac usually).
Then, go back to System Preferences, go to Desktop and Screensaver, click on the Screensaver tab on the top, go to the drop down menu beside "Source" (under the picture) and click on "Choose Folder". Navigate to the Macintosh HD>Library>Desktop Pictures and then click on the folder you just pasted in there. Click "Choose" and you're all set. -

I have a 3 year old MacBook Pro with MAC OSX 10.6.8, iPhoto ’09 version 8.1.2 and have downloaded two software programs: one is Aperture 3.2 and the other is Photoshop Elements 9 (which I got from a friend who didn’t need it).
I am totally happy with the way iPhoto organizes my photos and how I can work with iMovie to create slide shows with music from iTunes, etc.
I have been shooting mostly high resolution jpegs and I continue to learn more and more about photography, post processing etc. I realize that the small adjustments I can make in iPhoto are good, and are adequate most of the time. However, a have started to experiment with shooting RAW images and would like to go the next step, ie. post processing.I am totally technically challenged and need SIMPLE, INTUITIVE programs and am certainly NOT anywhere ready for Photoshop CS whatever!
After having these programs sit on my computer, I decided to try to see if I could figure them out. When I opened Aperture, this is what first comes up.

I have heard horror stories about moving your entire library to Aperture, ending up with 2 libraries, etc. etc. hence my previous reluctance in attempting Aperture. In addition, many of my photography friends are saying: Go with Lightroom 3.....you’ll love it!
So here is my dilemma. I don’t want to mess around with my iPhoto library. All I want to be able to do, is to isolate a few photos, export them to Aperture, Elements, and work on them there, then bring them back into iPhoto.
Can I do this? Should I forget about Aperture and Elements and look at purchasing yet another program like Lightroom?Export those few photos via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop. Then import them into the Aperture library. That would keep one copy in your iPhoto library and another in your Aperture library to edit, etc.
You can use Photoshop Elements 9 from within iPhoto as your editor of choice. However, if you edit a raw file in iPhoto with PSE9 the resulting edited version must be saved outside the iPhoto Library and imported back in as a new file. For editing jpegs just do a Save (not a Save As) and it all will be kept within iPhoto.
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

It looks like your NVIDIA graphic is damaged. If you need your computer now, you can fix the computer downloading gfxCardStatus and selecting the option to use only the integrated graphic, so that kernel panic won't appear anymore. Note that you won't be able to use the NVIDIA graphic, so the graphic performance may be worse than with this graphic.
Of course, that's a temporary fix, because you should take the computer to an Apple Store as soon as possible to get the Mac repaired. As the NVIDIA graphic is not soldered, the repair won't be expensive -
MacBook Pro keeps waking from sleep on its own
My MacBook Pro keeps waking itself from sleep for no reason.
I had the battery changed for free by Apple (apparently it's one symptom of a problem with the original battery) but it hasn't abated. (Occasionally it won't wake up from sleep too, but that's rare and so not much of a problem). The main issue is its inability to stay asleep.
Anyone else had this? I can't find any advice anywhere else and the Genius Bar at the only store I can get to is always fully-booked.

In addition to Michael's ideas, there have been some weird sleep issues caused by a System Preference, and although your issue doesn't sound the same, if you run on AirPort (and not Ethernet) I'd check it out anyway:
-Open System Preferences.
-Open Network.
-Click on Built-in Ethernet (note what it says underneath it: Not Connected or Inactive; Inactive is what seems to have caused the majority of other issues).
-Click the - button at the bottom of the window to delete the original Ethernet pref.
-Click Apply.
-Click the + button.
-For Interface, select Ethernet.
-For Service Name, enter Built-in Ethernet.
-Click on Create.
-Make sure your Location is set to Automatic or AirPort (or whatever you normally have it set to).
-Click on Apply and close Preferences.
