MacBook Pro late 2011 battery problem

Hi everybody,
My MacBook Pro late-2011 after I upgraded to Mac OS X Maverics the battery sometimes stop recharging, and whenever I click on the battery Icon it says,
Battery is not recharging and that the power source is: power adapter, I tried resetting the System Management Conrtroller (SMC), by holding Shift-Control-Option and pwoer it worked and it recharged the battery, after 2 days the same problem appered and telling me that the battery is not recharging, any ideas

The MBP is late 2011 MacBookPro 8,2, the battery is as old as the computer, I bought it Jan 2012.
