Macbook pro losing connection to Laserjet 100 M175nw

I was using a MB Air (running mountain lion) and the above printer and no issues at all.
I recently switched to a MB Pro running Mavericks.  Now, I cannot keep a wireless connection to the printer.  When I try to print or scan it says "Printer Not Connected".  If I reset the printer (turn off-on), then I can print, but the connection will drop after one minute.  (It even dropped during a scan job).
I tried to re-install the HP drivers (delete the printer and re-install).  But same issue.
Is this a known issue or any solution for me?
I am currently running iOS 10.9.2.  The printer/router/computer are all near each other.  Its not a distance issue.  Again, everything was fine previously running Mountain Lion on a MB Air.
Thanks in advance!

Hi erichk,
May I know what is the exact OS you are using ( e.g 10.7 , 10.8 or 10.9 etc ) . Please make sure you installed the Full featured software in your Mac. You may download here : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=sg&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5076465&task=& please don't forget to select you OS.  As much as possible your printer is near to your router approximately 3-5 meter. Please prioritize to connect your printer first.

  • MacBook Pro losing connection w/ AP Extreme after Firmware Update

Since the firmware upgrade (7.3.1) of my AirPort Extreme 802.11n/Gigabit, my MacBook Pro running 10.4.11 keeps losing its network connection between sleeps, so that when it wakes up, it gets a 169.254 address, and I can't use the Internet. It stays connected to the Airport network, but just can't get an IP. I've tried turning Airport off, sleeping again etc., but the only remedy that works so far is to reboot.
My other two machines, a MacBook and an iMac, both running 10.5.2 have not had this problem at all since the upgrade.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help - this is getting really annoying...

I think this is an issue with mac book pro Airport.
I'm not 100% on it though, but occasionally i get periods that WHENEVER i am connected to a wireless network, when my computer goes to sleep and wakes up again, the airport can connect to the wireless environment, but will not get an address, hence rendering useless.
I get the problem at work (airport extreme) and at home (netgear 'n' series modem/router). Everyone else at home is doing fine with the wireless setup, and so from knowing the situation arose in bothe environments, i put it down to the wireless enabler/ airport in the mac book pro.
(At least if you are using airport base stations, you can connect airport utility and restart it via software).
i notice that my comparable issue is nothing do do with leopard, airport extreme firmware update. but the symptoms are similar.
I will post again if i find anything further

  • Macbook Pro losing connection to Airport Extreme

I have a Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite ver 10.10.3 connecting to an Airport Extreme. The connection between the AirPort and the Mac is randomly dropping causing me to lose WiFi. I have other devices (iPad, Lenovo Thinkpad) connected to the Airport extreme and they are not having any problems maintaining wifi connectivity.
Any thoughts on what the problem might be? Or is there an app I can download to diagnose the problems?

Diagnostics will tell you directly if you have a major issue.. It will list them for you.
Within the diagnostics there is a utility.. Since I consider Yosemite the major problem of all networking I have avoided wireless issues by avoiding Yosemite.. very simple really.. stick to earlier OS.
However if you use the utility it might show you something that is happening.. otherwise it is pure Yosemite.. bad drivers.. bad install (please clean install if you upgrade installed and then started having issues).. Network wise you can fix it.. but the method is arcane.
    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/01/why-dns-in-os-x-10-10-is-broken-and-what-yo u-can-do-to-fix-it/
Apple ruined the dns app in Yosemite.. hence at least why it is unfixable. DNS is key to how networks function now.. !! You cannot leave it broken and expect reliable network operation.

  • New Airport Extreme to First Gen MacBook Pro Losing Connectivity

I just purchased the latest Airport Extreme and am having severe issues between my MacBook Pro and the Airport Extreme. My wireless connection will appear to "hang" as according to the menu bar icon it will appear connected but if I click the drop down it does not show any status information (whether is it connected via PPPoE or not) on the wireless network the Airport Extreme is providing. During the time that no status information is provided the Macbook Pro is unable to access anything across the wireless. Other computers (non-macs) that are using the wireless continue to work fine as if there are no issues so it appears that it has to do with how my Macbook Pro is receiving connectivity information. Sometimes it seems that I can get it to start working again if I click wireless network icon and it rescans for wireless networks. I am currently unsure whether its using wireless A or G (this is a first gen MacBook Pro) but will try to determine that.

  • HP LaserJet 100 M175nw - Change from an old SSID to a new one

    Hi all,
I had an HP LaserJet 100 M175nw wirelessly connected to my WiFi a few days ago without problems. But I change from ADSL to Optical Fibre Internet Connection yesterday, and the SSID name of my new Router has changed (from WLAN_55 to WLAN_43).
The problem is that my Printer has configured and saved the SSID  name of the old router (WLAN_55) yet, and I don't know how to update it!!!
I have run the HP install CD several times, navigate through the printer menu display and I am desesperated...
The printer works well though USB, but wirelessy is not working because it is trying to connect to the old network.
    Thanks an regards.

I have the exact same issue and unfortunately this link does not help
The link takes me to the new install procedure and the wps option suggested just does not work due I believe to a problem with my router.
SO I still need to change the existing SSID and password manually.
On an earlier post it was indicated that this is possible to do manually on the printer but I cannot find a way to do that.  Are you able to post the menu directions to get to the change SSID option?  I dont think it exists!
    OR
How do I access the printer configuration via a usb link? in order to find and change the SSID and password?
I dont think there is a way to do this either!
    OR
How do I access the printer configuation browser without a wireless connection?  Maybe this is the answer..
To do this I connected a network cable between the computer and the printer and typed the network ip address (IPv4 Address) into my browser.
I found the network ip address by printing a Config Report like so....
    Print a network configuration report
The network configuration report shows the network or wireless settings for the product. Follow these steps to print a configuration report from the HP product.
Load letter or A4 unused, plain white paper into the input tray.
On the product control panel, press the Setup button ().
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Reports, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Config Report, and then press OK. The product prints a configuration report.
Then I chose the Networking tab on the printer configuration page
Then the Wireless Configuration option from the menu on the left
There I found my new router SSID listed and clicked on it
And futher down a space to enter my new password
    And clicked Apply
    And hey presto - solved!

Hello, my sister her macbook pro cannot connect to our wireless internet. My imac however can, so the problem has to do with her laptop. We were wondering how we could solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance!

We did that, but it just doesn't seem to be able to connect. So basically we tried to connect to our network and insert the password, but afterwards it does nothing. Weird thing is also that the network symbol (top right of the screen) says that it has been connected, but when I go look at the system preferences --> network, it states that it has not been connected

  • Macbook Pro cannot connect to the internet even when others can

Hi! Please help me. We have an internet WIFI connection in our office but only my MacBook Pro cannot connect even when I entered the correct password. My Iphone and Ipad work just fine. It says "connection timeout" but all other laptops can connect. I tried network diagnostics already and it always say "connection timeout". I dont know what to do anymore.

Yes, and when I open the Network Utility it shows a working IP address, and a 54Mb/s speed from the wireless router. It even shows the shared computers from my roomates. But when I try to access the internet it does not load anything on Safari or Firefox ( or any other internet application for that matter). It is completely unconnected. YET, As soon as I activate the AirPort card on the top right where I have my signal strength, it shows on the Network Utility information that there are 'packages' being sent and received, and I have NO programs open what so ever, I have closed everything except finder and network utility... Does this mean I am being hacked, or have some sort of Trojan or something in my computer? I ran an antivirus that my school provided, called Virex by McAfee, it came out clean except it says it cannot read one file.
I tried repairing my disk, and that did not work either. I did the Ram reset like you suggested, but that also did not work. I doubt it being a hardware error. I am going to try to connect it to an ethernet cable to see if that will work. Then I will let you know what happens with that, but that would still not be a solution since I need it wireless, cause the router is in another part of the house.
Thank you for your help, and I hope we can get this sorted out.

  • Macbook Pro WIFI connection slow and intermittent

I recently moved to a new apartment and had Time Warner install our internet/Wifi. My Macbook Pro will connect to the Wifi and work fine for about 30-60 seconds and then become extremely slow, even to the point of no connection most times. I have tried using both the new router and the old router that worked just fine at our old apartment but both behave the same way. I have reset the routers multiple times but that does not fix the situation and I do not believe the router is the problem since my two roommates (one of which uses a Macbook Pro) have no connection problem. My iPhone connects perfectly fine as well. When I am on other Wifi addresses, my Macbook works just fine. Also, my Macbook is only one month old. I called Apple to try and solve the problem and they believe it is an interference problem however the connection remains the same no matter how close or far from the router I am and all other devices don't seem to have interference problems. Any help is very much appreciated!
    Eric

Might be corrupted network preferences ..
Type or copy paste the following:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
See if that makes a difference.
Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

My macbook pro is connected to wifi but it will not connect to the internet. When I go on safari, it says that "Safari can't verify the identity of the website". Then I tried to update flashplayer but you need the internet to update it. All this only started happening after that Moutain Lion software was downloaded onto the laptop. Please help, I have been internet-less for a couple months now.

my macbook pro is connected to internet via my time capsule but my iPad and iPhone won't. it shows wifi connection to the time capsule but when i go on to the internet on the iPad or iPhone, it comes up with network error. can anyone help?

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get.
