MacBook Pro mid 2013 13' gets stuck on White screen after login.

I'm in safe mode right now. I Booted it up in Safe Mode by holding down the shift key during startup. What do I do now to not get the white/grey screen during startup after login?

If the grey screen occurs when you boot normally (not safe mode) try bypassing your Login Items by holding a Shift key in the same manner during login (i.e. not during boot). If you can log in, you effectively isolated the problem to one of more of your Login Items.

Stuck on white screen after login

My 13" macbook pro is stuck on the white screen "after" the user login page. It started happening after installing the latest update then gave me a "start up disc is full error also. I know to clean up unnecessary files but can't do that when it's stuck before I can get to a point where I can access them. Any Ideas and help would be great.

Try a PRAM reset:
Power off, power on holding the following keys:
OPTION+COMMAND+P+R
Continue to hold thee keys till you here the start chime 2 times hen release.

If I understand right, your iMac is only starting up to a blank white screen after you log in. If so, there are some good troubleshooting steps that may resolve this behavior.
First, try booting your computer into Safe Mode, to see if your desktop appears in this mode:
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Start your Mac, then immediately hold the Shift key. This performs a Safe Boot. Advanced tip: If you want to see the status of a Safe Boot as it progresses, you can hold Shift-Command-V during start up (instead of just Shift).
Note: A Safe Boot takes longer than a typical start up because it includes a disk check and other operations.
If your Mac starts up as expected, immediately try restarting.

Macbook pro wont load, just gets to a white screen with apple logo

Hello,
I put my Mac to sleep last night. I am trying to turn it on now but it won't load.
The bar comes up at the bottom, fills about 20%, dissapears and then the spinny globe stays there forever, it will not load.
I have tried booting up by holding shift or x and no change.
Worthy of note, I installed leopard also last night.
Ive tried putting the leopard disc in, its being read but nothing changes on screen.
Ive tried holding command + p + r.
Ive tried unplugging, replugging.
Holding alt and choosing boot from disc or efi boot goes to the same white screen.
Holding c makes the disc drive make alot of noise, same white screen with nothing happening.
Nothings happening

My computer froze while I was playing music, I left it alone to recover, but it got hot and the screen went black. I turned it off and then on. However, when i turn it on, it only loads to the white apple page and will not let me sign in or anything. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro mid 2013 Running Kinda Slow?

I'm new to mac, so i'm still learning as i'm a windows pc Video editor/Gamer user.
My windows pc is fast so i'ts probally just me being picky. However i feel like every hour i'm typing in "purge" in the terminal just to get more free ram.

i5 @2.5 Ghz
4GB @1600Mhz
MacBook Pro Mid 2013
Mountain Lion
500GB HDD Drive
More info on problem/concern
When logging back in my mac some times i click on icons they litrally either take 8-10 seconds to open.
At times with Adobe premiere pro CC & Adobe after effects CC open at the same time. At times the mac grinds to a solid halt and it just dose not respond to clicks ect ect.
Some times it even takes a while just to open the finder or prefrences.
Adobe can take 25-35 secodns to finally open.
Just some questions on mac in general
Dose mac slowly get faster the more you use it, i seem to notice one times my mac was running 3 programs at once. And it was handelling it really well.
Will is OS mavericks make my mac work a lot faster. It says it will, but no idea if new mac OS's actually make much diffrence.
Would 8GB ram make my mac a LOT faster. Like 10fps more in games. 20fps more. Would it let me run dual programs better? Like adobe programs better.
Any way, sorry for the hord of questions.

On the problem/concern
1.this can be normal, especially when using a traditional HDD. the computer is spinning up the drive again and looking for the applications you are starting. one thing that can help is to restart you computer simi often (2-3 time a week at least) and making sure that you are quitting appliacations.
2. the CC products are stil fairly new. maybe reach out to adobe and see if they know about the issue.
3. hard to tell you what's happening. depends on what else is going on.
4. Adobe programs are big. again pretty normal for a newer mac with a traditional HDD.

1. not generally, but it depends on what specifically is going on.
2. in the past OS upgrade generally provide noticable speed bumps on macs that are less then 2 years old.
3. YES. this is one of the cheapest and most noticable upgrades you can do. this wont let apps launch faster, but multitasking will see a boost. RAM is user servicable and is covered in the manual. another upgrade that you may want to look into is installing an SSD (also user servicable). this will boost your boot time, app launch time, wake from sleep, all of these fun things.

Hello, i have a Macbook Pro-mid 2013 (13" inch-intel Core i5 2,5ghz-4go RAM) and i'd like to upgrade the RAM to the maximum possible.
I saw that officialy, the maximum is 8go but that it's possible to use 16go without problems.
Is there any risk to upgrade to 16go?
What brands would be the best choice?

You note two different machines, the MacBook Pro Mid-2012 and Mid-2013. There is no Mid-2013 MBP, but the Early and Late 2013 models cannot be upgraded after sale.
The Mid-2012 can be upgraded to 16 GB but like all Macs, you need to use ram guaranteed for a Mac as they are very sensitive to the timing of the memory. Buy from OWC, http://www.macsales.com or Crucial, http://www.crucial.com

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.

Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

Odd how this hasn't been archived yet.
I'm getting the same thing with my Macbook, but can't boot past the white screen. An Apple store in KS suggested I needed a new hard drive, but I've already put two in there and it's still doing the same thing. I really don't want to buy another motherboard like I had to a couple of years ago.
My choices are either buy a cheap drive to boot from and remove the current one to put into an external case, or save the money by not buying a new motherboard and putting it as a down payment toward a Mac mini.

27" 2009 iMac is stuck on white screen after OS X Maverick update

27" 2009 iMac is stuck on white screen after OS X Maverick update. How do I get past this White Screen? I have tried to use the PRAM reset, holding down Shift,Command, R, and P after turning off computer then when I turn it on, having those pressed until I see the apple symbol. I only hear one chime. Never get to a second chime. Thank you.

Mac stuck on white screen after booting.

My Mac boots and after the spinning wheel at apple logo vanishes it gets stuck on white screen..
I was running the following commands in terminal when my mac froze and I had to restart it.. After that it is on the white screen..
The commands I ran :
cd Applications
cd XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/experiment
ls -l
sudo chmod 0644 /
And after that my Mac froze and I had to force restart by holding the power button.. After restart its stuck on white screen just before the login screen.

I am able to boot in Recovery HD.. did the repair permissions but that sudo command had affected the entire drive.. Reinstalling was the only option left..
Although I had to do
sudo chmod 0644 /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs
but ended up pressing the return key just after the first "/"

I have a macbook pro that won't boot all the way. When I turn it on it will go to the apple logo, and proceed past it then get stuck on a white screen. If you leave it on this white screen after a little while a grey ribbon will come across the top with little white squares and rectangles. Someone said that it sounded like a graphics card issue, and if you all agree do you think that that would be something that a reflow would fix? Thanks for the input guys.
