Macbook pro occasionally doesnt charge until powered off
My late 2011 macbook pro running the latest version of mountain lion, occasionally wont charge untill powered off. I checked the battery health and its normal. I have the battery health app installed and it has 97.1% of its capacity availabe.
Could this be the charger? or some other issue?
1. The Genius will tell you the cost of the repair before having to pay for the repair. Moreover, you pay for the repair after having your Mac repaired.
2. Correct, but as I read, it looks like the hard drive isn't damaged so you shouldn't have lost anything, because this problem is different. Apple won't modify the hard drive, but to make sure, ask to the Genius about it when you take your MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro July 2011 edition suddenly powered off
Last night after using my MacBook Pro for 6 hours plugged in for the most part, I went to plug my Iphone USB into the socket and it went black. It shut itself off and now won't turn on. The green charge light dimmed off moments before it turned itself off.
The battery has been hungry for a long while as after charging to full 100% it would eat up power rapidly.
I guess my only option is to take it to the apple store
I am wondering as to what happened?
Could it be the battery? I'm out of warranty so I hope it won't be a heavy cost to fix
Thanks

When the battery charged fully in macbook pro and the charger (AC Adapter)
when the battery charged fully in macbook pro and the charger (AC Adapter) is connecting (Showing Green Lamp) to the macbook pro does that effect to the battery live of the macbook pro with Retina Display 15'' ME665
Also I want know the Best headphone compatible with macbook pro Retina that help me to Hear and Record ?
Notes ( the macbook pro 15" has just one port for the headphone usually it's tow for record and hear)
Best Regards,The MacBook Pro charging circuit will charge the battery until it reaches 100% charge and then switch to power mode for the MBP. When the battery drops to 93-95% charge the circuit will switch back to charging mode to top off the battery charge again. You will not harm the battery or MBP by leaving it plugged in most of the time.
There are many good headphone/microphone combinations on the market, best really is more a function of how much money you want to spend. Check those offered in the Apple on-line store for features/price to see what would best fit your needs. You can also look at audio equipment suppliers, all the earphones need is a standard 3.5 mm plug. -
My Macbook Pro will not charge. I have tried other charges and nothing. Can the MagSafe port go bad? Is that expensive to repair?
The port can fail. Internal boards can fail. Batteries can fail. All with the result that no charging occurs.
You can try Resetting the System Management Controller and you can try Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters.
But usually you will have to take the mac in to a service place for testing. It can get expensive, although occasionally it is not.

Macbook Pro (Early 2011) charging problems
Hey Guys,
The Macbook Pro was bought in July of 2011 which is only a few months old .When I plug in my magsafe to charge the macbook pro it turns green, then orage to show that it is charging. However, after a few mintues of charging the orange LED light goes off and it stops charging, then the orange light comes on to charge for another few mintues then stops charging. I have been aren't to charge the macbook pro
Is the charger broken? I cant find or see anything tearing in the charging cable or anything broken with the power brick.
ThanksFirst try resetting the SMC...
Reset SMC of a MacBook or MacBook Pro’s with an internal battery:
* Shutdown your MacBook/Pro
* Connect the power adapter to your Mac
* On the MacBook/Pro’s keyboard, hold down the Shift+Control+Option keys and the Power button at the same time
* Release all keys and the power button at the same time
* Boot your Mac as usual
Then try resetting the PRAM...
Resetting the PRAM
You reset the PRAM by rebooting a Mac and then immediately hold down theCommand+Option+P+R keys, you will then hear the Mac reboot sound again, signifying your PRAM has been reset. You must hit the key combination before the grey screen appears otherwise it won’t work.
If those two tricks fail, take the adapter and the laptop to the applestore. IMO it sounds like a battery issue and not a charger problem. -
My macbook pro won't charge due to an electric shock
My macbook pro won't charge due to an electric shock that was caused from a charger that was in a bad condition, the computer didn't turn off when it happened but it stopped charging. When the battery died it refused to charge with any charger, I even bought 2 new ones. I sent it to apple and they are asking $650 for fixing it! The problem is that the macbook is only a year and a half old and I live abroad where there is no apple branches or any of that. I had to send it to the USA first. Also, I might lose everything saved on the macbook after fixing it! Any solutions? please help!

HT3964 I have a macbook pro and it randomly will turn off
I have a macbook pro and it randomly will turn off. This happens when the computer is plugged in and when it is not. The condition of the battery says: good.
I borrowed someones charger and after 5 to 10 minutes of charging it turned on. The charger light came on amber and was amber during the entire charge and has been green since. Unlike my charger which would only come on green, or very very dim green no matter what since the batter has died completely. Do you think that this is definitely the problem or is there anything I should check while I have it on and running?

2 week old MacBook Pro doesn't charge.
My 2 week old 13" MacBook Pro won't charge, I worked on it until my battery was completely depleted.
Now when I connect my charger it won't charge, also the LED doesn't light up.
Is my 2 week old charger broken?
(sorry for my bad English)Call AppleCare for warranty service.

If you are having an issue with charging your MacBook Pro, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

If the battery appears to be working correctly you may want to see if the issue lies with your power adapter. Use the steps in this article -
