Macbook Pro recognises webcam but gives no video
I recently started to use a usb camera (Microsoft LifeCam Cinema) to have meetings with teams abroad.
It was possible on two occassions to get video from the webcam. However, this morning plugging the webcam in caused the Macbook Pro to reboot. This happened on two successive attempts.
Currently, the Mac recognises the device (as per attachment), but no video is shown.
Any suggestions?
If How to Troubleshoot iSight doesn't help, Reinstall OS X.

Many thanks.Your posted info shows you are using Mac OS X (10.5.8). With this Mac OS, you can use iMovie, Photo Booth, or optional QuickTime 7 Pro to record and save a QuickTime video. (Be sure to save in a YouTube Supported file format.)
Then follow the YouTube Help instructions for How to upload your saved videos.

My macbook pro won't play any youtube video. I always get a plug-in failure message! How can I solve it? I already did all updates, reinstalled flash player but nothing helps!
1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button
Install Adobe Flash Player.

Quit Safari.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
Enable it.

Please review and consider the following which works for me in Premiere Elements 12 Window 64 bit.
From what you wrote, I suspect that you have DVD-VIDEO widescreen on DVD disc. For now I will assume that you are working in a NTSC setup.
Premiere Elements DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc is characterized as interlaced video with field order lower (bottom) field first. I am not sure how your DVD-VIDEO on DVD was produced - upper (top) field first or lower (bottom) field first. We may have to apply Field Option Reverse Field Dominance at the Timeline level, but for now let us put that aside for a later time.
Insert your DVD disc in the DVD burner tray.
Open Premiere Elements to the Expert workspace and set the project preset manually for NTSC DV Widescreen. How to details for manual project preset setting are found

Then, Add Media/DVD camera or Computer Drive/Video Importer.
The video files from the DVD-VIDEO will be the larger size files and will probably start with VTS_01_1.VOB.
In the Video Importer designate the save location for video file VOB(s) and select Add to Timeline and hit Get Media
to put the files on the Timeline for editing.
If you have more than one DVD disc to "rip", please set up the Video Importer Save In location so that the save in location has a folder for each disc. The fact that all DVDs have the same VTS_01_1.VOB name etc will cause problems if you saved all to the same place as individual files.
Determine how that works for you in your Mac computer environment. We will be watching for your progress.
Others may tell you that you need to convert the VOB to another format before import into Premiere Elements. That is no necessary for Premiere Elements.

I recently got a MacBook Pro and want to burn my videos, taken with my iPhone, to DVD. What is the easiest way for me to accomplish this? I've been told I need to download a DVD creator/burner. I've downloaded 3 different free versions, but none of them seem to recognize the video files from my iPhone. I don't need anything fancy or complicated. I just want a way to store these vidoes and be able to play them on our DVD player. Help!
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder on your PC to /Music/ on your Mac.
Then delete what you don't want.
You will need to authorize yrou computer for the iTunes account yoru mother has.
You should create & use your own iTunes account for any more purchases.
You don't need to export anything and definitely don't need to (and shouldn't) convert anything. -

I had my early 2011 15 inch 8,2 repaired (free) under the extension program. The machine now appears to run well - but much hotter than before. The case is significantly hotter - especially at the GPU corner and the fans are constantly on moderate to high (not full). Anybody else experiencing similar changes?Run an Apple Hardware Test;

I saw many users with same problem.Если для тебя еще актуально, то я нашел решение наших проблем.Все конечно же связано с обновлением, надеюсь Apple все поправит вскоре, ну а пока нужно отключить в свойствах Safari русский язык и все заработает, то же касается и Firefox, если ты им пользуешься......говорят, что в Opera все нормально работает и с русским языком, но я не проверял ,пользуюсь в основном Safari и иногда Firefox.

When you sell a MacBook Pro, you need to give them the original OS that was installed on it when it shipped from Apple. Any upgrades you purchased from teh Mac App Store (even the free "purchase" of Mavericks) is tied to your Apple ID. You would need to restore the Mac to the original OS, then let the buyer upgrade the OS themselves.

This month I just purchased a 27 Display with Thunderbolt. I have a 17 inch MacBookPro with the mini DisplayPort. How do I connect my MacBook Pro to the 27 inch Thunderbolt Video display.
Mini-Display Port == ThunderBolt.

I have a Seagate Slim Portable 500 GB USB 3.0 external hard drive that worked great with my Macbook Pro 13" Retina but gets ejected and won't show files on any iMac. My Macbook Pro and the two different iMacs I tried it on were all using Mountain Lion, so the only difference was the iMac versus Macbook Pro.
I just tried this, no luck...
I connected a different USB cable, still the same problem. Tried both cables with the problematic hard drive on two different computers, still the same problem.
At this point I assume I'll probably need professional help in saving the files, thanks for the assistance. -
I tried to install windows 7 in my macbook pro late 2011 but i tried to create partions after it installed and it turn to dynamic disks and i can't access mac or win 7 what should I do i cant format it because i dont have a backup
It's not that you can't format it because you have no backup, it's because you'll lose everything when you do. Lesson learned. Always have a backup.
