Macbook pro resolution support

does mid 2014 macbookpro 15" retina 2.5GHz supports 4K resolution at 60Hz with miniDisplayPort adaptor?

Hi there arielhasidim,
It looks like your model will support a 4k resolution at 24 Hz over HDMI. Please note that mirroring is not supported at this resolution. Take a look at the article below for more information.

As Tom said the FCS forum is the better place to post the question.
Here is Apple's best practices doc for installing both on the same system.
BTW, FCP7 is part of the FCS 3 suite of apps.

The Mid-2007 model didn't come out until June 2007, so you must have bought an earlier model. It won't run Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.x), but it might run Lion (10.7.x) if you can get hold of a copy, depending on which earlier model it is.
Lion requires at least a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The first MacBook Pros came out in January 2006, but they had "Core Duo" processors (no "2"). The Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros came out in October 2006. You could have bought either in March 2007.

  • Do 2/11 Macbook Pros Displayport Support Dual Head?

I'm unable to find any documentation on if the Mini-Displayport is using spec 1.2 which would allow for multiple monitors to be connected to a Macbook Pro.
Does anyone know specifically whether or not Apple supports the standard?
    Thanks!

Yes the Matrox DualHead2Go DP edition works on my MBP 15" 2.2ghz machine.
If you are setting up from new you might have to delete a few 'extra' screen resolutions that appear to be supported by the new AMD graphics card. The one you need is
    2 * 1920x1200 60 Hz
This goes in the Active Resolutions and Refresh Rates box, via the Matrox PowerDesk - GXM Control Panel config tool.
Its early days so I dont know if there is going to be any visual funnies, but none so far.
It also has the improvement, where you can restart your system whilst connected to the Matrox device and the monitors will wake and come on without having to first disconnect the MPB.

  • Older Macbook Pro Resolution stuck at 1440 x 900

I have mid 2011 Macbook Pro 13" 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 running 10.6.6. Recently it has developed a problem with the resolution settings. The highest resolution I can achieve is 1440 x 900 in Syetem prefs. It also means that i cannot see all the screen at one time. I have tried to delete any prefs I can see with Displays in them and it has made no difference.
Has anybody seen this problem before I have never come across anything like this before. I am currently downloading the 10.6.8 combo update and may try an update to Mountain Lion if this doesn't work.
    Thank you in advance

You know what I can't remember, pehaps its not the resolution that's the problem, it's just that I cannot see the whole screen at once as if it has been zoomed, but as far as I can tell it hasn't. Made me think a bit differently about it. Thanks

  • Does the new Macbook Pro 13" support TOSLink cable (audio out)

I just bought new Macbook Pro 13" (April, 2010) and I want to connect my Macbook to AV receiver or home theater to decode DTS digital sound. Can I use the TOSLink cable (mini 3.5mm jack to Optical) with Macbook Pro 2010 audio out ? (My AV receiver does not have HDMI input but have Optica).
    Example of the cable :

  • What's the maximum RAM my Macbook Pro can support?

According to Apple's website, my Mac (MacBook Pro, 13-inch, late 2011) can support up to 8 GB of RAM (two cards of 4 GB each) as a max.
Yet, in other websites (like Kingston's) and questions in Apple's Support Communities site itself I've seen that it can support up to 16 GB.
I'd really like to know if I can upgrade up to 16 GB so I don't make any useless waste.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

  • Does Macbook Pro Retina support non-Apple optical drives?

So, Im facing the decision of which Macbook to invest in. I understand the new Retina Macbook Pro does not include an optical drive, which is a problem for me as I am a gamer usually using Bootcamp. I see that Apple offers a "superdrive" though it only supports CDs and DVDs and if I am to buy a seperate optical drive I believe I should go for one that also has Blu Ray support. So my question is if I get a third party drive will it work with my Apple computer?
    Thanks for your time

  • New MacBook Pro resolution randomly changes at log out

    Hello!
I recently ordered a brand new 15in 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro with a Glossy Hi-Res Display and it arrived Tuesday of this week. I set it up with only one account but still goes into the Login Screen at startup. After a while, I went to shut down and accidentally logged out out of habit. When I did so, the resolution changed. I logged back in to restore it. When I went to the Display Preference Pane, two windows popped up, indicating that the computer detected two displays. I tried changing the resolution on both "displays" but it would not let me. The only way I was able to reset the resolution was by restarting, but the problem still persists when I log off. After getting through the set up screen when I first set it up, the first thing I did was run software update, so I know everything is up to date.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!
    -Jake

The problem is that when the machine is closed, it goes to sleep, and in sleep mode, all that goes on is that a bare trickle of power is used to keep the contents of RAM alive.  Networking is definitely not active while asleep.
Now, regarding ds store's solution, that's a fairly bad idea.  If the machine is just sitting at your desk, you don't need to close it, or if you feel a need to close it you can use Kappy's solution.  (Although, it should be noted that apps like InsomniaX and Caffeine do not, as far as I know, keep a machine awake when the lid is shut.)  If you're worried about passersby seeing your screen, just activate the screen saver instead.  You could even require a password to dismiss the screen saver for added security.
On the other hand, if the machine is being transported, keeping the lid open and the machine running is not a good idea.  The sudden motion sensor ought to protect your hard drive against damage caused by moving the machine around...  if it's working properly, and I'd rather not depend on an "if" to prevent hardware damage to the machine.  Plus, if it's in a bag and you've forced it to stay running, it could overheat due to lack of ventillation.
So, long story short: if you're transporting it, close it and deal with logging back in to the network, and if it's on your desk, don't bother closing it.

  • Will my MacBook Pro '11 support the software needed for my new AirPort Time Capsule?

I've got a MacBook Pro '11, OS X 10.6.8 and am trying to back up my photo library to a new AirPort Time Capsule 2TB.
When trying to set it up in AirPort Utility, I am getting the warning "This version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this AirPort wireless device and might improperly configure the device if you continue to use it. Check www.apple.com/support/airport for the latest version of AirPort Utility."
    1. Where do I go to get the latest version of AirPort Utility?
    2.  Will the latest version work with OS X 10.6.8?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes. The latest version will be installed when you upgrade to Yosemite.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
