Hi, I downloaded the app for macbook "Lens Flare for Final Cut" and I've struggled a lot to install this app at final cut . Someone could help me ? how i can install this app in Final Cut? this app cost me money and not is working to me, i am disappointed sorry if a write bad, i´m from Mexico i speak spanish

This is a user2user board for FCPX - maybe better you discuss your issues with the makers of that 'plug in'
Seems for me a  bit 'fishy', isn't it? - other professional plug-in makers deliver with an installer... That advice at AppStore, how to install it, is ... rare:
How install it ? – click the launch button. Motion 5 will start itself. When Motion is open click save as. Write a generator name - Lens Flare and choose category RGB HOUSE or make it. Click Publish and you are done. If you don’t have Motion 5 look at support site - how to install in FCP.
How it works ? – In Final Cut Pro you will find in Generators RGB HOUSE group, where will be Lens Flare. Drag this generator above all clips in timeline. When it’s there remember to change blending mode to Screen (in video section). You can adjust color, steak color, glow, intensity, scale - apacity and blur of artifacts, position. Any parameter could be stored as a keyframe, so You can easily animate the flare.
so, I don't speak Spanish, lets have some fun with translate.google...:
Hope it makes at last a little sense... I don't trust these automatic translators
(the German translation is ... awesome funny!)
Finally: it's from 2012! Needs probably an update - contact the dealer!

  • MacBook with retina display worth it?

I'll be a college student next year and am ecstatic that I am required to have a MacBook pro. My intended major of industrial design recommends that I have at least 500GB of storage and FireWire capability.
I really like the new MacBook with retina display because the screen displays text, photos, videos, etc. with an extremely noticeable (at least to me) definition, which I feel is perfect for art and design. I also like how it is thinner and a tiny bit lighter than the Non-retina MacBook pro, making it easier to to carry around Syracuse's large campus. My only concern is that if I go with The standard model of the Retina display, I'll be paying quite a hefty sum, and still won't have the hard drive size I need. I have no problem paying more to get what I need, but my urgent questions are as follows:
    1) Is the higher price ($2800) MacBook with Retina display worth it?
    2) Would I be able to upgrade anything (Hard Drive Size, RAM, battery life, etc.) after I purchase the MacBook by sending it to apple or some other retailer?
    3) Is it inconvenient to not have an optical drive?
    4) How is the battery life?
    5) Is it possible to have a retina display installed on a MacBook pro that does not originally have one?
    6) How easy is it to switch from a PC to a Mac?
If any or all (1, 2, and 3 most importantly) of these questions could be answered I would really appreciate it, I would also love to have any other advice on this topic.
    Thank You!

Buy one of the other MacBook Pros.

If you are worrying about cost: you cannot afford it. This so called Pro MacBook has only 1GB of VRAM when even an ugly DELL has 2GB using the same GPU. For some reason, proably due to heat it had to be downgraded to 1GB of VRAM which in the Mobile Workstation world is considered rock bottom and means you will be buying a GPU that is already date and underpowered.
    1) Is the higher price ($2800) MacBook with Retina display worth it?
It's really only useful if you have clients who are impressed you can afford it. Plasma Blue Ray is set at 1920X1080 and until HD is 4K no one will see what you see.
    2) Would I be able to upgrade anything (Hard Drive Size, RAM, battery life, etc.) after I purchase the MacBook by sending it to apple or some other retailer?
NO, maybe sometime in the future a thrid party will construct an SSD that is compatible but it will be very, very expensive.
    3) Is it inconvenient to not have an optical drive?
YES, you do not really need it these days and can easily use the external DVD drive.
    4) How is the battery life?
Considering it's ok but not as good as the other MBP.
    5) Is it possible to have a retina display installed on a MacBook pro that does not originally have one?
    NO
    6) How easy is it to switch from a PC to a Mac?
    EASY.

  • How do i clean the screen of my macbook with retina display?

how do i clean the screen of my macbook with retina display?

To clean the screen on your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, first shut down the computer and unplug the power adapter. Dampen the included cleaning cloth with just water and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.
Important: The bottom case of the MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009) and MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) uses a soft nonslip material. Use a 3M Gray Microfiber or soft dye-free, lint-free cloth to clean the bottom case.

  • I have a macbook with retina display and when i use it, it gets hot on the bottom is this normal?

When i use my macbook it gets hot on the bottom is this normal?

If you're talking about the "new" MacBook with retina display, it's normal (Especially when you're playing games or watching a movie) and like Stark_Hu said, it will start displaying the temperature warnings, slow the processor, and try to regain normal temperatures. I actually had that happen to me while I was playing the Sims 4 while having 3 Pages documents and 5 or so Safari pages open.
Now if you're talking about the Retina MacBook Pro, I would clean out the fan ports and everything because that doesn't seem too normal!

  • Problems with timeline for PE 11 on Macbook with Retina Display

When I use the expert timeline mode in PE 11 on Macbook with Retina Display, it zooms in excessively, to the point where I can't tell where I am.  It makes the timeline unusable.  I tried the fix that Adobe recommends, which involves replacing a HandlerTimelineFramework file.  This didn't work.  Any help would be much appreciated!

This has been a continuing problem, sometimes even with the Adobe fix in the Adobe Tech Note.
I recall seeing a recent case of this that was finally resolved by Adobe. You may have to contact Adobe directly on this one.
But let me see if I can find the thread that "I think" that I recall.
Have you atempted to contact Adobe directly on this matter?
    To be continued....

    Airplay mirroring.
Macbook 2012 retina display. Unable to see desktop on television, audio works perfectly. Both OS on ATV and Mac are running latest versions.
    Firewall set correctly (allow incoming...)
When I click mirroring to turn it on, teh Apple TV screen goes blank (from its home setting)
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi!
I figured it out! It was a firewall issue.
I use Handsoff and I checked it before i wrote here. There was no "user defined rule" that denied the communication but when i changed to "All rules" the program displayed several rules regarding AppleTV and its IP.
So if anybody has the same problem make sure you see all rules of your firewall and get rid of the AppleTV related rules generated by the program itself. You dont need to update to the latest iOS on the AppleTV!
I hope that I can help some people with this info to fix the problem.

  • I have Problem with my new macbook with Retina display

my new macbook with Retina display i have Problems
(Suddenly Stuck) stop working don't thing move even mouse even caps lock light in keyboard it not work it is totally Stuck till shutdown it from keyboard and restart

Hmm sounds like a saved application state issue and memory related.. I hate to ask are these graphic intensive apps. ?? games ??
Try these two things and restart if it still occurs then i recommend contacting AppleCare
disable the Resume and App Restore feature completely in Mac OS X 10.7.
Launch System Preferences and click on the “General” icon
At the bottom of the “Number of recent items” list, uncheck the checkbox next to “Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps”
    - Click on the Apple on the top left. Choose shutdown "Uncheck" Reopen windows when logging back in
**use your mac normally just like you were if the issue reoccurs then contact AppleCare..  Enjoy..

I have a student Visa. I wanted to purchase the new macbook with retina display. Can i clam a VAT refund?

When I go to europe and head back to the states I can go to customs at their airport i.e france, italy or germany and get VAT refund for all the purchases I made. It does not work the other way around. purchase in the US heading back to europe as far as I know but you can ask US customs at the airport if they do such thing, just make sure you have copies of your receipts.

  • MacBook Pro 13" or MacBook Air 13" for Final Cut Pro?

I am looking at buying either a MacBook Pro 13 inch with 8Gb of RAM, 750 GB, and a 2.8 Ghz i7 Processor or a MacBook Air 13 inch with the 4gb of RAM and a 1.8 Ghz i7 processor. Which is better for Final Cut Pro X? I would rather have the Air, but if the Pro is better (which is what I currently have) that's what I will get.

Is it a very noticable difference? Will I REALLY notice it? I know that the Pros are more powerful but I just wanted to factor in the SSD in the Air.

  • Macbook 2.0 and Final Cut Studio?

I need a notebook computer for traveling as supplement to my G5 dual 2.5 G5.
I would like to just go for a Macbook. It looks to be a snazzy computer at a very good price. But I've heard that the graphic card is not really sufficient for Pro applications.
So my question is: Can Final Cut Studio be run succsessfully on a Macbook 2.0 GHz with 2 GB of RAM?
    Dual 2.5, 4.5 GB RAM, 30" Cinema Display,   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

While the other responses are correct in that you will see somewhat better performance with a MBP, I have to tell you that the MacBook can run FCS perfectly well. I own both the MacBook and the MacBook Pro and I am running FinalCut Studio on both. The performance gains on the MacBook Pro are very marginal, and I would not consider them enough to justify the higher pricetag. Now for a more graphics-intense app like Motion, or Shake, yes, the Pro will be required. But for your situation, wanting to make some edits and do some work in FCS on the road, the MacBook will be fine. I would suggest a RAM upgrade to at least 1 gig, and optimally 2 gigs. Good Luck!

  • Macbook with retina display + 500GB western digital hard drive

I have just bought my macbook pro with retina display and I have a Western Digital hard drive that doesnt show up when I plug it in. How can I make this work?

    Just an update:
I tried to boot by MacBook into safe mode with the external plugged into the USB port and could never get past the Apple Logo boot screen. I then detached and tried to boot up my MacBook regularly and still nothing.
So today i took my MacBook and WD External Hard Drive into the genius bar (they were super cool), turned out that my MacBook hard drive had dismounted itself so I had to wipe and reinstall (not a big deal, I had everything backed up).
Then they plugged the WD into different machines running 10.6.8, 10.7.1 and 10.7.3 and the External did the same thing with everyone of the machines, proving my intial theory wrong that it was my upgrade to 10.7.3 that caused this problem.
Didn't get a chance to try Paragon's NTFS driver and at this point I'm a little gun shy. The external is still under warranty so I'm going to see if WD will just swap it out for me. Anyways, thanks for the input.

  • Scratched my macbook's retina display.

Hi guys, I'm her because I want to know what can I do for my notebook.
I bought my very first macbook pro (retina display 13'') only a month ago and accidentally I scratched the display. I was so sad when I found it out, but what can I say? It happens...
What I want to know is if there is some kind of procedure if the product doesn't have 90 days of "life" yet. Or, in case not, how much would the costs of a reparation be? I any other cases I would leave it alone, but the computer is brand new so...

Use your warranty and bring it to an Apple store or an authorized repair facility.
    Ciao.
