Macbook pro retina - Sennheiser mm450 bluetooth pairing problem

Sorry people but have, with surprise, comunicate a bluetotth pairing problem of my Sennheiser MM450 bluetotth  headset with my new macbook pro retina 15".
No headset detected by may mac.
No problems with other bluetooth devices and this macbook.
No problems with this headset and iphone or other computer.
I'm very disapointed.
Hope to have some suggestion for solve the problem
Thanks

It may be necessary to turn on the aptX codec via Bluetooth Explorer -> Utilities -> Special Options
That did the trick for me.
The bluetooth explorer used to be available by pressing option then the bluetooth button, but now its bundled seperatly either with xcode or here :https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action?name=bluetooth%20explorer

  • Macbook Pro Retina 15, Stop bluetooth device during file I/O on Bootcamp Windows7

    Hi.
My Macbook pro Retina 15, Stop magic mouse & apple bluetooth keyboard during some file copy local folder or usb storege or nas on bootcamp windows7 pro 64bit.
I called apple korea. but they don't have answers. also It base on bootcamp windows, they can't support me
It only occure on my macbook pro retina on bootcamp. only bluetooth devices not own keyboard or touchpad.
    My iMac(2009late) does not problem.
Yesterday I clean setup bootcamp again, It still problem.
I just guess some bootcamp driver problem at ssd or bluethooth. Mac OS also OK.
First time I got new ratina, no problem. nothing to chaged. just update collectly.
Anybody help or same problem here?
    Thanks

I should point out, this happens with/without peripherals attached.. ILOK dongle was disconnected at the time of crash. I will however check for updates..
I have found somthing interesting tho - as it's out of warranty I downloaded a fan controller and forced the fans to full speed... The MacBook played video for hours, no problems. I believe this is a overheating issue because they fans just do to turn spin fast enough without being forced... Or it could be dust?
I'm going to have Genius Bar clean it out if the will?.,.

  • Macbook Pro Retina and Older Bluetooth Keyboard Bug

I have the macbook pro retina and the older full size white bluetooth keyboard.  When I wake the macbook from sleep mode, the keyboard repeats all keypress many times.  Like the keys are sticky.  Turning the keyboard off and on fixes this problem.  I am running OS X 10.8.1.

I have the same problem with my older white Apple Wireless Extended Keyboard, which had been working fine with my 2009 iMac. But I experience the issue sporadically with my new Mac Mini. I've read reports of people resolving some BT issues by turning off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" in the Advanced pane of the Bluetooth System Preferenes Pane.
There are also people having the issue on iOS devices using various Apple BT keyboards. No help, but interesting to note that it's happening across various devices, keyboard models, and OSs.

  • I just purchased a macbook pro retina and I'm having problems with flash

I just purchased a macbook pro retina, I have installed flash and tried everything recommended in previous threads, however, youtube is still requesting I install flash. Any suggestions?

    hienn,
Not yet. There was an upgrade page to 10.8.2 for the late 2012 models but it's down now. I have to assume that Apple pulled it because of some bugs. I would look for something next week, more likely than not. In the meantime, the OP should be good with 10.8.1 until the update shows up again.

  • MacBook Pro Retina 13" late 2013 Trackpad Problem

    Hallo zusammen...
Alleine heute ganze 4 mal.
Vielleicht kann mir ja hier jemand weiterhelfen, weil beim Support weiß auch keiner weiter!
    Danke im voraus
    Jojo

  • Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013) sleep wake problems under Yosemite

    Hi,
Ever since I installed Yosemite on my MBP (details in the screen shot below), I've been getting Sleep Wake problems.  At night, I simply close the lid of the laptop, leaving all applications running, and in the morning I wake it up.  This worked fine under Mavericks on this laptop, but since Yosemite, every time I open the lid, I've had problems.  Initially, I'd open the lid and the machine would restore from what looked like a deep sleep (screen would get an alpha layer on it, and the little progress bar would appear, as though it's waking from the battery running out).  I ran Disk Utility, which found and repaired an issue on the disk (can't remember the details, unfortunately), and ever since then, when I open the lid, I have to hit the power button to get the machine going.  It restores in about 15 seconds (nice and fast), and it does re-launch all of the applications I had open, but the machine will also show a little system alert, indicating a "Sleep Wake Problem".  Each time I see it, I submit the issue to Apple.  Because I'm an idiot, I forgot to copy the crash log from this morning, but I'll do that tomorrow and append it to this thread.  Meanwhile, if anybody is having a similar experience and can isolate the cause, I'd love to know.  A few variables which might matter:
    * I have a Thunderbolt external hard drive which I use for Time Machine.  Each night, I eject the disk before shutting the laptop down (I bring the machine home with me each night).  My laptop used to have issues ejecting external disks, which I traced (thanks to this board) to an issue with attempting to put an external drive to sleep (I think that was the issue).  I haven't had any issues since that time.
    * The apps I have running all the time are Mail, Safari, Coda (text editor) and VMWare 8, which is running a Windows7 VM.  That's been my environment for years now, yet the sleep-wake issue only started since upgrading to Yosemite.
    Any help/advice is appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Ben,
Another sleep issue and adding to your post... My MacBook Pro (2.7ghz early 2011)
Leaving apps open and closing the "lid" and then going to bed... several times thru out the night my MacBook will start to wake up.  The optical drive spins up (DVD is in the drive), the hard drive fires up, I think i can see the screen glow ("lid" is still closed).   Then it sets itself back to sleep (must detect the closed lid).
Did not do this with Mavericks or other earlier OSs.
I have not begun to try to figure this out... today is the day!  lol.

  • Macbook pro retina 15 mid-2012 display problem : solution :)

Well. This topic is not really a question, I hope this could be a solution for both users and Apple. Its free, but if Apple wants to offer me a full options Mac Pro, or hire me as consultant we can discuss ^^
The story is long, but is worth. Sorry in advance for my swissy english. I hope you'll enjoy.
As many of retina mid-2012 owners (and perhaps other versions) I encountered the symptom of my machine crashing more and more frequently (from once per week to more times per day). Crash usually with a message of "read error" or some display related crash dumps, often linked to the switching of graphic card (integrated<->dedicated).
For a long times a suspected some burnt chip (because of using 1-3 external screen all the day) and seeing istatmenu with crazy temperatures of 90-105°C. I was disappointed because of the evolving symptom (crashes more and more frequent and sometimes no display at power on)
It took me ages to discover what exactly did my MBPR crash, as it was crashing "randomly" for me. Sometimes after crashing, hard shutdown and restart, it wouldn't display or even power on the backlight, for one hour or one day and suddenly it would display again !!
I tried all the solutions found here and there including replacing the thermal paste, smc or pram reset -> no luck.
I took it to my local Apple provider and I was told I would have to change the motherboard. An expensive operation, since the warranty was expired by 2-3 months.
So I bought a 13 inchs retina as replacement and continued to diagnose my 15 inchs in parallel.
I discovered that it would crash if I bend it : Power on, one hand on each side applying a light bend in the two directions made my MBPR crash. So suddenly the problem wasn't random anymore. Mouhahahaha. This could be motherboard or chip related (de-soldered solderings here or there), or case related. Let's hope the problem's not mobo related.
I opened the case and tried to see in the dark if I could see a mini lightning when bending (because of a bad ground somewhere). -> No luck
So I tried to put paper here and there to try to locate the potential bad ground. Booting, bending, hard shutdowning, papering, booting, bending,...
And suddenly the darkness became light : If I put a paper at the right place, my MBPR will resist to the bend test. Was my mobo alive, and was this nightmare only a progressive bad ground ? Yes.
Here me good : the progressive symptom of random crashing of my MBPR (which I imputed for a long time to an old chip since the symptom was the same under windows 7 bootcamp + because of the graphic switching behaviour) was in fact only a bad contact at a very given place.
The very given place (my diagnose and my solution) ?
The screws of the left's fan (thunderbolt's side) or/and the fan case itself are screwed through the motherboard. For a reason (temperature, mecanic constraints or corrosion) this stuff entered in contact with each other, the redox gained the near electronic motherboard tracks (especially the thunderbolts one I guess).
    Proof :
If I put a piece of paper between the motherboard and the case, I can bend my MBPR without it to crash and use it as before (except for external screens).
    My diagnose :
once the material of the screw/fan case/motherboard track enter in direct contact, there is a corrosion effect that affects more and more the neighboor.
Here is a pic of my repair :
    I can now :
play hours in windows 7 bootcamp
switch between graphic cards with gfxcardstatus (even with a playing itunes animation)
sleep and wake up with integrated or dedicated graphics
    I can't :
connect a screen through thunderbolt since it activates the corosionned part of my MBPR, so it will work for a period of time but will assure me that a crash is awaiting (perhaps after a wake up or randomly from this time)
I'm confident that this problem is conceptual and that a big part of 15 inches retina mobo's exchanges are due to this question.
    Hope this helps
    Kisses from Switzerland

I tried to diagnose this mid 2012 retina 15 inchs for a couple of month now. With a very similar symptom of a lot of people :
some that exchanged the motherboard more times and experienced again the same freezes / shutdown again
some that installed mavericks by believing it workarounded the problem (but majority also says after a while that actually the problem was only differently reproduceable)
some hoping Apple to release a sowtware fix for that or a recall of the concerned machines
I now think to have isolated one of the cause of such symptoms. At beginning I thought that the fan electric insulation had worked but actually not.
    Solution for me :
    open the under case
dismount a bit the two fans
insert paper bands under the motherboard (between the black bottom and the motherboard, I used ~120gr/m2 paper and cut it into bands of 10-13cm by 2-3cm).
I would have dismounted the motherboard if I had the right screwdriver, but this seemed to be a too long/hard work, so I went into this idea that my motherboard was ok and that the problem was only caused by a supposed short-circuit under the motherboard.
    My thoughts :
The more big the hole in the black tape under the motherboard, the more frequent the freezes / shutdown due to a short circuit (electronics grounded at the false place because of the mobo entering in contact with a grounded metal part through the black tape)
I also thinks this short circuit is more dedicated graphics linked than integrated and that this is the reason why the symptom persists or reappear even after multiple motherboard exchanges for a lot of people and the reason some people use their machine with forced integrated graphics
This solution should apply as self doable for a lot of people
If I should bet, I think that the black insulating tape under the keyboard is scratched by the time (mecanic constraints on the chassis) by some mobo component until a false contact is created through the insulating tape
    I can now (mid-2012 retina 15 inchs I7 8go 256go, osx 10.10.2) :
run firefox or VLC with integrated or dedicated graphicssleep/wake with integraded or dedicated graphics (forced or auto-switching) with such programs runningrun multiple screens (2x TB + HDMI at the same time), sleep the machine, unplugging 1 of the 3 screens during the sleep, wake the machine + bending the machine during the process without it to crash. \o/
The goal of this post is to share this amazing experience with both Apple and the users facing such a problem.
Problem solved without motherboard exchange and with a quite easy workaround

  • Macbook Pro Retina Display Pixel / Dust Scratch problem

I have a MBP 15' Retina purchased in October 2012 and last night noticed a number of small white dots on the screen which appeared to be dead pixels, booked into the genius bar this morning and was told that the dead pixels were actually dust scratches where a small piece of dust had got caught between the screen and keyboard when it was closed and had damaged the screen. You can feel tiny bumps if you run your finger nail over the areas so this may be the case but while it may be the reason you'd expect that a $3500 machine wouldn't have a design fault that allows tiny dust particles to damage the screen.
The Genius said that this was a known issue and that while it had been escalated with other customers' machines, the issue is cosmetic and not covered under warranty.
Has anyone else had this issue and what were the /are the steps to getting the screen replaced under warranty given that this apprears to be a known isssue and shouldn't happen to a $3500 computer.
    Thanks

This is a load of malarky!!! Do you know how big the dust particle has to be in order to chip the screen.  Remember there is a rubber seal that runs the edge of the screen, and this is 1mm in height. So what we are talking about is something the size of a large grain of sand.
Ok, lets say you have this, the sand must be very sharp, in order to chip glass.  Secondly, if you press gently on the glass while looking at a light in the reflection of the glass, you will see it distort, right?  So that means, even a 1mm piece of dust is not going to "Chip" it.
Ok, lets say, that you happen to drop your wifes 0.2 carat diamond on your keyboard and close the screen.  In this case, yes it may chip the glass, but I ask you, don't you think that this kind of protrusion would at least result in a scratch on the aluminium body?   What is not known by these guys is that this glass is crystalline.  If the manufacturing process doesn't go well, it can sometimes cause fault lines in the crystallisation structure.  Not all glass chips are physical.  In fact, heating and mild distortion of the glass could cause chips in weakened areas.
I AM 100% sure that if anyone threatens legal action they would replace the screen.  Any laboratory low-end microscope will examine the chip and will clearly show the crystal in the glass flaking.  Did someone say CLASS ACTION.
I have this issue after having the laptop for 3 days, I AM VERY ANGRY that the twerp at genius who thinks he is very intelligent, tries to fast-talk his way out of things.  I am not one to make a scene at the store and dont think this gets us anywhere, but Apple needs to step up and train these nappy-heads about these things.
I mean, I have had laptops for 20 years, I have had scratches, cracks, smirks, plastic burns on the screens, but NEVER a chip in the glass, only time I have seen a chip is on my windscreen, and doesn't that look different?  This is one for the courts, I am not happy that I have spent so much on a MBP now and have to live with the fear that the screen can spontaneously crack, perhaps even explode in a mushroom cloud (ok, that one was comedy relief).
I am a very honest person as most of us are here, and the bearded baboons at Genius have no right to call me or any of us liars, granted there are 1% of people who come in any lie, but the other 99% are loyal RETURNING customers, this is why Apple has been successful, not cos of the flarnin (that word is so I dont get sensored,!!) logo!  Laptops are portable devices and don't belong behind museum glass.  If Apple "Stuffed Up" with this design, that is ok, however they should take a few bucks off their soaring share price and help the consumers who help them succeed.  Either redesign the product, do a recall on all your machines, or at least don't be a JE_RK about replacing machines still under warranty and make out that YOUR customers are liars.
The problem with a monopoly is not the company, its the staff who get a rush out of feeling like they are somehow in a position of power, but go home and realise they are only paid $20/h and get grounded for coming home too late.
I say, take action, prove your point, and don't take their nonsense.
(In case you are wondering, this was a rant, mainly at the Genius boys!!! But some good points.... I hope :D)

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) Bluetooth Not Available

I have disconnected my BT mouse which was unresonsive. The MacBook then restarted of it's own accordand and now says BT not available.
System Info say Bluetooth - No information found.?

Try a SMC reset and test.

If you still don't have any BT hardware installed then you have a hardware failure and you should take the system to Apple to be repaired.

  • My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

Ah, sure it actually won't.  I have the same problem, and I contacted Apple Support.  They told me that there is an incompatability between the iphone 5 and MacBook Pro Retina such that Bluetooth pairing is not possible.
The Support Agent actually had the audacity to tell me this was part of the design of the OS on the MacBook Pro, like Windows people saying, "That's not a bug.  It's a feature!!"
Personally, I think this is insane.  While I was trying to tether the iphone to the MacBook Pro retina for an internet connection, there are other reasons related to file transfers for which one would want to pair the iphone 5 with the MacBook Pro retina.
I am hoping this "feature" is fixed in iOS 7, and/or in some dot release of Mac OS 10.8.
By the way, the personal hotspot feature on my Verizon iphone 5 works great either via a wifi or USB connection.  There are occaisions, however, when one would 1) not have a USB cable, and/or 2) have another wifi relationship between the phone and a network that one would not want to have to "forget" in order for it not to connect to that wifi network.  The Macbook will not find the iphone as a wifi hotspot if the iphone is connected to wifi in the first place.  At least mine won't.

  • Jaybird headphones and Macbook Pro Retina bluetooth connectivity issues

I recently purchased the Jaybird Bluebuds X Premium headphones and for awhile it would connect to my new Macbook Pro Retina 15'' via bluetooth, but now it doesn't anymore. The headphones connect just fine to my phone (iPhone 4S), and other Macbook Pros (not retina), but they do not connect to other Macbook Pro Retinas. I was wondering if this was a connectivity issue with Macbook Pro Retinas and if so how can I get around it to connect the headphones again?
    Thanks

    Hey there LongHorn16,
It sounds like your Bluetooth headphones aren't working with this one computer, but there is no issue with other devices that you have. I would start with these 2 steps from the following article:
    Restart your computer
Sometimes a simple restart of your Mac is all it takes to get things running smoothly again. You may also want to try resetting your computer's PRAM and NVRAM.
    Reset your Bluetooth device
Try turning your device off and then on again. If that doesn't resolve the issue, see if you can reset your device—refer to the documentation that came with your device for instructions.

If it still doesn't work, then I would next use this article to remove the device:

Then restart your computer and pair it again:

  • Can I use my wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse with my 15 inch MacBook Pro retina display

  • Bluetooth cannot pair samsung s6 and macbook pro retina

    Hi all,
I'm trying to pair my new samsung S6 to my 2013 macbook pro retina running yosemite.  I have gone to "bluetooth preferences" and I can hit pair and the S6 receives the code to verify and it connects, but then immediately disconnects and goes to a not connected status on the MBPro.  I keep receiving a "network is unavailable" message on the MBPro when I go to try again to connect it.
For troubleshooting, I have enabled file and bluetooth sharing in system pref's.  I have re-started both devices.  I have re-started bluetooth on both devices without a total restart.  I have enabled media share on the S6 just in case it was that.
On the S6 under the bluetooth menu, it is saying it is paired up with my MBPro.  On the MBPro however, it is showing a "not connected" status.
I would love to transfer photos and video from the S6 to my MBPro via the bluetooth connection.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Chris

I have the exact same issue.  Furthermore, the problem extends to creating a wifi hotspot on my s6.   May yosemite macbook will not recognize the network that was just created.
