MacBook Pro Running With Yosemite Isn't Seeing Photosmart 7525

Things I've done: Restarted the laptopReset the printing systemRepaired the disk permisssion in disk utilityPrinted wireless network test results The printer is connected to the internet wirelessly and can see all available wireless networks, so I know that's not the issue.

Hi , Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print to your HP Photosmart 7525, because your Mac running the Yosemite 10.10 Operating system is not seeing the wireless printer. I see you have done a few things with no success. Let's go ahead and try a different approach although some steps may need to be repeated please do ALL in order: Scrub/ Uninstall • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
• Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
• * Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
• Click uninstall. Reset Printing System 1. Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.2. In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.3. Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…4. Click OK to confirm the reset.5. Type the correct Name and Password.6. Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.. Repair Disk Permissions 1.On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.2.Double-click Disk Utility.3.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").4.Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.5.Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.Restart the printer. Now you can download and install the printer software and install it. Click on the link below to begin the download and follow the on screen instructions: HP Officejet Pro 8600 series Full Feature Software and Drivers Now, if you are still unable to see the Printer, continue here: Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs, check out the 'No air printers found' section. I hope this helps, please let me know the outcome! Thanks,

There is no upgrade to iPhoto with OS X 10.10.3 - here was an update to version 9.6.1 a few months ago and Photo 1.0 was added with 10.10.3 - what software and which version are you having trouble with - iPhoto or Photos?

  • HT5275 My Safari is not opening on my Macbook Pro running with OS X Lion. What can I do?

I need help! I snt the report to apple but seems like nothing is happening. What can I do to fix the issue with the Safari?
    Please, help!

    10.7 Lion.
Restart your computer, holding down the “D” key while the computer restarts.
After your computer restarts, you should see the Apple Hardware Test chooser screen. If you don’t, Apple Hardware Test may not be available on your computer. You may be able to start Apple Hardware Test from the Internet. Reconnect your computer to the network, and then restart your computer while holding down both the Option and “D” keys.
The above written paragraph is from Apple kb article.
Hold down both the Option and D keys while restarting the computer.
Computer is still under warranty. It is a good idea to make use of it.
    Best.

  • I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard and foolishly upgraded to Yosemite.  Is it possible to go back in time with Time Machine and reinstall Snow Leopard.  Then upgrade to Lion or Mavericks?  Any other ideas on how I can exit Yosemite?

I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard and foolishly upgraded to Yosemite. Now have numerous problems.  Is it possible to go back in time with Time Machine and reinstall Snow Leopard?  Then upgrade to Lion or Mavericks?  Any other ideas on how I can exit Yosemite?

Once you get yourself back to Snow Leopard, if you still want to upgrade somewhat, I would suggest the following:
    1. Get an external hard drive that you can use for experiments with new OS versions. You could partition it into 2 or 3 partitions. You could then clone your existing Snow Leopard system to one partition using Carbon Copy Cloner (well worth $40) or SuperDuper ($25).
    2. Buy OS X Mountain Lion for $20, through the Apple online store (I don't think it's available through the App Store). Apple has decided to make it very difficult for anyone to get Mavericks unless they have already downloaded it.
You will receive two e-mails from Apple, one containing a PDF with a redemption code, and one with the password you will need to unlock the PDF. Using the code, you will download Mountain Lion from the App Store, where it will appear among your Purchased items.
After ML finishes downloading, its installer app will launch itself. When you see this launch screen, QUIT the install app immediately! Go to your applications folder, find the Install OS X Mountain Lion app, and copy it to a safe location outside of your Applications folder. Keeping one or more copies will allow you to reinstall without unnecessary aggravation if you later need or want to do that. At this point, you can re-launch the Installer in the Applications folder and let it run. You can install it on a clean partition on your external HD, or you can allow it to upgrade the Snow Leopard clone you created on your external drive, or you can do both. This should allow you to test how everything works for as long as you like.
    3. If you left yourself a free partition on your test drive, try a clean install of Yosemite and set everything up from scratch (do not migrate anything). This will allow you to see whether your problems with it were related to something in your Snow Leopard system.

It will work fine for web pages, etc. but in email when I try to do it between by iPhone 5s running 8.1 and my Macbook Pro running Yosemite I consistently get an error. "Yesterday I couldn't update the maps on my Garmin because it said the OS I had wouldn't work"
What OS will your Garmin work with? Funny there was someone else that did that and upgraded to Yosemite and regretted it.
I'd say Lion if your Garmin is compatible.
Both Lion and Mountain Lion are downloadable from the Apple Store:

  • How do I reset Safari on MacBook Pro, running Yosemite 10.10.3 with Safari V8.0.5? The reset button is not in Preferences, Privacy, nor on the drop-down menu of Safari.

I have  a 2011 MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.3, and Safari V8.05. I want to reset Safari, but there is no reset in the Safari drop-down nor is there a reset in the Preferences - Privacy window. Any Help out there?

Hi, thanks for the response.  I have searched online and many posts say to reset Safari all you have to do is click on the Safari icon, then select reset from the drop down menu, or find the reset button in the privacy window in preferences.  My system has neither options. My Safari had been hijacked (frozen) by a pop-up.  I cleared all history, cookies, cache, etc. with the wifi off, and it seems to have worked so far. Many posts said to reset Safari, and I don't seem to have that option.
    Thanks again.

  • I am asked to Sign in with my Apple ID each time I boot my Macbook pro running the current and updated version of Yosemite

Each time I boot my Macbook Pro running a currently patched version of Yosemite I am asked to "Sign in with my Apple ID."  After that I have to approve the use of Find My Mac, and then I have to agree to the Terms and conditions of Use.   This is very annoying since I use Bootcamp a lot and it adds a fair effort to the reboot process.   Any thoughts?
Some additional clues that may or may not have bearing on this.
Once I am booted into Yosemite completely, if I open Safari (also current version)  I am told my Safari Extensions have been migrated and I have to re-enable each one individually.   They have all been disabled.   This will occur each time I completely close Safari and reopen it.
I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions everyone!   Thanks in advance.
    Dave

    Hi chc517,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your MacBook Pro. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on a couple things about your specific configuration. The message you mentioned about the disk being encrypted would seem to indicate that you may have File Vault enabled. If that is the case and you are having a login issue, you would need to use the File Vault recovery key to reset your login password instead of your Apple ID, as noted in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: FileVault recovery key

My Apple Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite freezes 10.10.1 regularly. When it freezes the only remedy is to physical shut the screen and wait for the battery to run down. These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop is running the network, and my wife's HP Win 7 laptop prints to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I do have the latest driver installed. I didn't have a problem when I had a Canon Pixma on the network, but when I replaced it with the Epson nothing seems to work. I go to add a printer to the queue and only the FAX function of the printer shows up - not the WS-4530 print function. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?  Please??? :-)

    Hi Kelly,
As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.
I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Running a cable to the HDMI port is still supported. (and still works on mine).
If the Arrangement tab in System Preferences > Displays isn't present then it doesn't recognize the physical connection.  Double check all cables.  If that doesn't work try a PRAM reset:
