Macbook pro speaker output via iphone 4 connect via bluetooth ?

Hi,
I wonder if anyone could help me out with this question on my head. If the functionality for bluetooth on macbookpro, could pair with the iphone's bluetooth and it could have the other function than only function like network sharing for example the one that I wish is sound output, so iphone could become bluetooth headset too.
Thanks,
Sfnteja

Hi,
Infortunately I do not have a solution neither.
Just to add that I have a triple boot, with Mac OC, Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit and I have the exact same problem in recognising the external iphone earset microphone.
I have been trying to tweak the windows registry with no luck yet
Hope that there will be an an updated version of the bootcamp drivers that will solve this.
I went to an apple store yesterday (at Genius Bar) and i was unpleasantly surprised when a technician told me that the line-in socket was also compatible with an external mic (poor him)!

  • Macbook Pro Core 2 duo: could connect via airport before bootcamp. cant now

Hey there guys.. ive recently bought a macbook pro core 2 duo. i used wireless internet through airport all the time, even at home. when i installed windows xp via boot camp, my airport express simply stopped working, in both operational systems. it does work actually, but whenever i try to connect to my d-link router connection wirelessly, it gives the "There was an error joining the Airport Network Toska"
When i plug in an ethernet cable, it works fine. When i try to access it via my mac mini G4, it works smoothly. but my macbook pro cant connect to airport connections, although i can see them in the airport spot!! ive got a non encrypted connection, and it doesnt work neither in MAC OS X or in Windows XP. ive tryed removing windows and also formatting and reinstalling mac os x, but it still doesnt work. im desperate, can anyone help me? thank you

    Cannock,
I am in exactly the same situation as you. I have a US MacBook Pro C2D and just received the new Airport Extreme (UK version).
In response to your question, I believe you must set up a 2nd wireless network for your Airport Express (with AirTunes), then duplicate your network port (in System Preferences > Network) and use that to configure. Not sure if that's the correct proceedure, however. Can someone else confirm?
With regards to setting the AEBS to a lower channel - this is only possible if using it in 802.11n g-compatible mode. If you set the base station to an 802.11n-only network, then channel selection is set to automatic (and will now allow you to change). Therefore, it seems there is no way to create an n-only network and have the US MBP on it!
    Any further ideas?

  • Problem connecting my macbook pro to a wired internet connection via ethernet cable adapter

I am having a problem connecting my macbook to a wired internet connection in an area in my workplace where there is no wifi.  The macbook works fine on the same internet connection via wifi in other parts but when I add it as a wired connection it doesn't show any connection.  I have turned off wifi to make sure that it is not trying to pick up a poor connection but I still can't get this to work.  I think I am trying to set up the connection properly but can't be completely sure.  Any help would be appreciated.

Open System Preferences>Network and make sure Ethernet is selected. If it is, open Advanced Settings (at the bottom of the Network window). Click on the TCP/IP tab. Configure IPv4 should be set to "Using  DHCP".
Configure IPv6 should be set to "Automatically". When those are set click the "Renew DHCP Lease" button

  • Macbook Pro can't find Canon MG6350 via wifi

Macbook Pro purchased earlier this year and running OS X (10.9.1) can no longer find my new Canon MG6350 printer via wifi. Printer can also not be found by other new Macbook Pro, iPad Air or iPhones.
I have reset Canon printer, Macbook Pro printer system, downloaded latest drivers, tried inputing Canon printer IP address. Nothing works permanently. I temporary resolved issue by re-enabling Boujour on Canon printer settings, which magically allowed printer to appear on all devices, but this "fix" has now stopped working. Can also see all devices on BT Home Hub 3 when logged in as administrator.
I can print via USB, but want wifi printing to work. Very frustrated, as it worked brilliantly before latest OS X / iOS upgrades. Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Thank you for your interest Clinton.
Yes of course the printer connected to the wifi network. I can see all devices including the printer when logged on as Administrator on the BT Home Hub. I have also reset the Hub itself several times and reconnected all devices.
Note that I had no problem setting up the printer and all devices wirelessly on the network previously, and that this exact setup was working for months brilliantly and without issue until roughly the time I upgraded to the latest releases of OS and iOS on all my Apple devices.
I have also reset the printer to its factory setting several times, reconnected all devices to the network numerous times and have spent roughly four hours trying everything I can think of on both the printer and Mac to no avail. Hence my post. And yes all devices have the latest drivers as indicated by Apple and Canon.

  • I am trying to hook my macbook pro to a sony bravia TV via DVI to HDMI cable and the TV will not recognize the signal. The same set up has worked with three other, though different televisions. Any thoughts?

I am trying to hook my MacBook Pro to a Sony Bravia TV via DVI to HDMI cable and the TV will not recognize the signal. I have used the same setup with three other TV's, each a different brand with no problem. Any ideas?

Is the TV set to take input from the HDMI connection?
On your computer, if you open the Displays preferences and do not see an Arrangement tab (or there is an Arrangement tab that shows only a single monitor) then there is something physically wrong with your connection.  Try clicking Detect Displays just to see if the computer can now sense the presence of the connection.  Check your connections.
If you do have an Arrangement tab, and it shows two screens, then click Gather Windows to bring the TV's Displays preferences on to your main screen if the TV is not yet showing an image.  Set the proper resolution (probably 720p, 1080i, or 1080p).  Set the refresh rate (probably 60Hz) if that preference is shown.  You should see a picture at this point.  I  recommend turning off mirrored displays if it is enabled.

  • I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?

I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?
Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.
    Please can anybody help.
    Cheers,
    Dan_nz.

  • Trying to set up my brand new MacBook Pro and it does not connect with the wifi network I have selected for this purpose. Nothing wrong with the wifi as both my iPad and iPhone are happily connected. Suggestions for connecting to the wifi network accepted

Setting up my brand new MacBook Pro and it will not connect to the wifi network. Nothing wrong with the network which is happily working for my iPhone and iPad! Suggestions accepted for making this connection.

Fixing this is a two step process:
    1) System preferences > WiFi/Airport ...
... check [√] Ask to join new networks
"Known networks will be joined automatically.
If no known networks are available, you will
be asked before joining a new network."
    2) Remove unwanted networks from the list of "known" networks under
    System preferences > WiFi/Airport > (Advanced) > | Airport/WiFi pane ...
Close the window and save changes. If no joy, do a restart to ensure you are playing under the new rules.

  • If I upgraded my MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Lion via the web and now wish to erase the hard drive and restore it to factory settings to sell.  How do I accomplish this?

I upgraded the operating system on my MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Lion via the web.  Now I need to erase the hard drive and restore it to factory settings, so that I can pass it on.  How do I accomplish this?  When I insert the Mac OS X install disk, the only option is to erase the free space.  Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thank you

You need to boot off the original Snow Leopard DVD's that came with the system.
Once you are running off of the DVD you will be able to do a clean install of SL
To boot off the DVD with the system up running Lion insert the DVD. Open Sytem Preferences->Startup Disk and select the DVD then restart the machine.

  • I have a new Macbook Pro.  Had just selected link via safari and the compuuter locked-up.  It won't turn off...don't seem to have an option (no contol, alt, delete like PC).  How do I unlock/reboot?

I have a new Macbook Pro.  Had just selected search via Safari and computer locked-up.  How do I unlock/reboot?  On/off doesn't do anything...no  cont/alt/delete option like PC, no easy battery removal available.  What's the secret?

Hold down Option Command Escape at the same time... from the drop down Menu choose  Force Quit Safari.
    Or,
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Force Quit.

Your iphone is right, it is not supported. The iphone's bluetooth protocols do not include file transfer, but are intendes only for headsets, stereo headphones, cars, and keyboards.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes.

  • HT4437 Is it possible to have my iphone connected via 3g/4g airplay youtube videos to apple tv?

My internet connection is opposite the rest of the universe: I have an iphone 4S with unlimited data. My home internet connection is limited data (rural satellite service). I'm thinking of getting an Apple TV. Is it possible to have my iphone connected via 3g/4g airplay youtube videos to apple tv? Can the iPhone even "see" the apple tv if it's not connected to the home wifi network?

No. Both devices need to be on the same network so they can see each other and stream over the local network.

  • I have a problem with using MacBook Pro as wifi router when connected to ethernet

I have a problem with using MacBook Pro as wifi router when connected to ethernet. The Airport icon changes to show a laptop inside, my iPad shows connected (I think) but Safari will not operate. I tried pinging my iPad, it seems to see the iPad, but no connection to Safari or to other apps such as Good on the iPad. I have read many posting and tried repeatedly via Sharing in Systems Preferences, but no luck. Suggestions to fix, or is this a Lion problem?

Usually this is a problem related to the domain name server address. If you open Network preferences, select your Ethernet port then click on the Advanced button then on the DNS tab. You will likely see an entry like 10.0.1.1 already listed. Click on the Add [-] button and enter 208.67.222.222 then click on the OK button and then on the Apply button.  See if this helps.
if it does not help then repeat the above but with the Airport port.
