MacBook Pro to hdtv via thunderbolt gone wrong..

I hooked up my MacPro to my hdtv and was playing around with the resolution. The screen has now gone green and won't revert back... Anyone know how to fix or am I buggered???

Which screen?  The MacBook Pro or the TV?
If it's the MacBook Pro, it sounds like the video card has gone bad, probably through the process of multiple changes of the resolution, but maybe nothing at all.  If it's a relatively new MBP, just take it back for repair.  The video card cannot be replaced, the whole motherboard needs to replaced.

  • MacBook Pro to HDTV via ATV

Is it possible to use ATV as a wireless bridge so that my HDTV can serve as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro?

Thank you. Would be a nice feature, since ATV occupies my last HDMI port and stringing a cable would be ugly and a pain.

  • Connect Mid-2009 Macbook Pro to HDTV via Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect my Mac to my HDTV via a Mini Displayport to HDMI converter I bought at the Apple Store. I have tried on three different HDTVs, none of which allow me to output video. I have tried adjusting the resolution to every available resolution under system preferences. Any advice as to how to resolve this problem would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jordan

I'm having the same problem, also with a 2009 13" MBP and a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.  Does anyone out there have a solution?  Do we need a different kind of adapter?  My tv is a Samsung 720p.  My boyfriend can connect his PC laptop with an HDMI cable with no issues.

  • Macbook Pro to HDTV via HDMI no audio with video

So I plugged in my MBP to my tv via HDMI this weekend and for some reason I was getting no audio when trying to watch a video online. I tried multiple websites to see if that was the issue, but nothing seemed to work. I was using Chrome but didn't try any other browsers. The video played but I would get no audio through my tv. The kicker was that when I played a song from iTunes, the audio would work just fine through the tv. Has anyone ran into this problem?

    Morning kirstenpolley,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you know the hdmi cable is good.
You may want to try a different input channel or a different display adapter.

  • Macbook pro to HDTV, video is working but audio is not working, how to make audio work as well

Macbook pro to HDTV, video is working but audio is not working, how to make audio work as well

If you use an HDMI cable, the audiostream will be integrated, so there will be sound when using an HDMI cable!
Not necessarily.  That only works as stated if you have one of the most recent MBP's that has a built-in HDMI port.
If the MBP only has a Thunderbolt or miniDisplayPort, you need an appropriate adapter cable and even if you use an HDMI adapter or cable to connect to your HDTV there is no guarantee it will carry audio.  You have to determine if your specific MBP model supports audio out through its miniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt output, and whether the adapter does likewise.

It's a new machine - and the Thunderbolt Display is meant to work with it. You need to just make an appointment at your local Apple Store and have them fix whatever is wrong.
If you like, you could always try a SMC reset and a PRAM/NVRAM reset to see if either of those will get your keyboard back in working order...

  • Macbook Pro to TV via HDMI - image way off center

Early 2008 15-inch Macbook Pro to TV via HDMI worked at first, now image is way off center on TV (like only showing a sliver of the computer image at the edge of the TV screen). Philips says it's an issue with the computer settings, not the TV. Any suggestions?

Could it be a borked cable ? I just bought it new from the store today, i have updated both imac and macbook pro to latest thunderbolt firmware and updates. Both 10.7.3.

You are correct, here is what Apple Says:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3775
I was able to find these instructions, however they referr to 2009-2011 27" iMacs. I think it's the same, if it's not then contact Apple directly for instructions. If either of the machines is less than 90 days old or covered by AppleCare then call AppleCare tomorrow for help, they should be able to easily answer this for you. You will find the number in your manual or you can use the AppleCare Contact Info link.
Your iMac should automatically recognize the presence of a digital video signal at the Mini DisplayPort and enter Target Display Mode.
If your iMac does not automatically enter Target Display Mode, press command + F2 to manually enter Target Display Mode.

  • How do I set up my MacBook Pro to print via wi-fi to my printer

How do I set up my MacBook Pro to print via wi-fi to my printer?

It is rather hard to know how to help you since, among other things, you didn't tell us what printer you own, what you've tried thus far, and what happened when you tried it. Your printer came with documentation and it may have even come with a disk that takes you through the process step by step. My first two suggestions are that you (1) make sure you know the password and SSID of your wireless router. You'll definitely need the password and you might need to know the router's ID name. (2) read and try to follow the instructions that came with your printer. In general, I've found that Canon and HP instructions and setup software are quite good while Brother wireless printers, at least in the past, have been rather flaky to set up (but work fine once that initial headache is dealt with).

  • Using Carbon Copy Cloner which is quicker firewire 800 Macbook Pro to external hard drive or Macbook Pro to same via Airport Extreme?

Using Carbon Copy Cloner which is quicker firewire 800 Macbook Pro to external hard drive or Macbook Pro to same via Airport Extreme?

Firewire 800 is the fastest and most reliable. Also it's bootable if you hold the option key down on a wired or built in keyboard.  Not bootable via Airport obviously or if Filevault is used.
It's only your first clone that's usually takes the longest, it's shorter when it updates as you only do the changes which you can control to keep a pure clone if you wish.
