How do you look at and edit documents in word/excel etc created on your macbook pro on your ipad?
You can copy word and excel documents to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that support those document types - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents and Numbers for Excel spreadsheets. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go (and 'premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
As to how you then get the document to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc. Some apps also support iCloud storage e.g. Pages and iCloud.

If you are on iTunes 11 on your Mac then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar, which might make it easier to navigate and may instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos -

My HP Officejet pro 8600 at work will no longer connect to my macbook pro or my ipad, yet it still connects to my bosses ipad just fine. I had tried uninstalling it on my mac, and then when i try to reinstall it its not there. I have tried unplugging the printer several times and this too doesnt work. I have tried resetting up the printer on wifi and even tried restarting my wireless router nothing has worked at all i'm getting really frusterated having to take all my work on a flash drive to my bosses computer to print it off please help ASAP.

Try unplugging the router from the power for 30 seconds, plug it back in and allow it 2 minuts to fully start.
Next turn the printer off and back on and check for any difference.
If the issue remain, may you changed a wireless router lately? what is your exact router brand and model?

Today When I tried to open the app store on my ipad I found out that's the store is not working,,, It's giving me the loading screen like for ever without any error message. So I tried my Macbook and my iphone and it was the same,,,, I thought it was from the connection so I tried several different connections and It was the same.
Any Idea what is going on with the app store ?The App Store app on your iPhone in your iPad is a different App Store than the app store app on your Mac. You use the same account for both app stores. So I would guess that the real issue is perhaps something to do with your Home Network. You might try rebooting your modem/router. Also, turn off any antiviral software, firewalls or apps such as Little Snitch.

If they apps were bought on iTunes on your Mac then you can connect the iPad to your Mac, select the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and use the Apps tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to sync them to the iPad - or you can re-download them directly on the iPad via the App Store app.
If you bought the apps in the Mac App Store then you can't sync them to the iPad as Mac apps are not compatible with the iPad -

What kind of document is it? Keep in mind that you may need an app on the iPad to do anything with the document. You can sync documents to particular apps by opening iTunes with your iPad connected, select the iPad in iTunes and click the Apps tab:
Then scroll down to the File Sharing area, select the target app and drag a document to the Documents box.
Alternately, you could use something like Dropbox to sync documents between your MBP and your iPad, as well as any other devices you like. -

The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
But unless you restore the backup onto a device then you probably won't be able to make much sense of its contents -

I have a new MacBook Pro, and existing ipad 2 and iphone 4s. icloud was already set up on the iphone and ipad, and it is now set up on the MacBook Pro. However, when I make an entry in one device, it does not populate the other two devices. Also, all my podcasts and music did not populate itunes in the computer. What am I missing?
Could you please confirm what it is you are making an entry in, that isn't syncing (address book, iCal etc)
Is there any reason you think iTunes should automatically fill your library for you. -
I uploaded photos onto my Macbook pro from my iPad 2 and they are not on my computer any longer. They were in the computer and deleted from my iPad. They are now where to be found in the cloud. Is there any chance they can be recovered?

what do you see when iPhoto opens?
how did you upload the photos from the iPad to your library?

where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

I live in the US, and I will be traveling to The Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg in May. I will be taking my MacBook Pro, 1st generation iPad and iPhone 4G. Is there a universal charger that I can use with all three devices, as opposed to taking three seperate chargers?
I obviously have three different chargers, I guess my question is, can I use just one of those chargers for all three devices, and if so, which one of the three, or does it matter? And if I can in fact use just one of the three, then why would I need all three in the US? Also, if one of the three will work on all devices, would the automotive charger work the same, one for all? Should I buy a macbook pro or an iPad 2?
Here's the thing: I want a macbook pro and an iPad 2. I already have a PC laptop that works and looks great and recently bought house computer, but I am an Apple lover at heart. So my question is should I buy an iPad 2 or a macbook pro? Whichever I don't buy this summer, I am going to buy next summer or for christmas. I have also read that both devices will be updated next year. What do you guys think I should do? This stress is started to make my head pound...
If your goal in the end is to have both, but buying one of them sooner, and then another later, in my opinion I'd buy the Macbook Pro first. Seems to me the differences and features added between Apple computer refreshes are less significant than the updates to the iOS devices, particularly the iPhone and iPad.
Ask anyone still using an iPhone 3G with the latest software updates installed how their experience today is. Aside from not having the newer features & functions, I've been told by several friends that the iOS updates have **** near crippled the thing, and it's slow as **** to do any of the basic functions (quite the contrast to when it was originally released).
This is largely due to the rapid increase of CPU speed and amount of RAM on the newer models which has lead to software development that's more demanding of the hardware. No doubt next years iPad will have a dual core chip in it, so I can't help but speculate the iPad 1 will inevitably suffer the same fate, and later on the iPad 2, etc... Oh and it will also probably have a flashy new HD camera similar to the 720P iSight found in the new MBP's for facetime calls instead of the current VGA camera (640 x 480)....again though, I'm talking speculation and opinion here. -

I am switching over from a PC to a MacBook Pro and an iPad. How do I import my Outlook contacts into MacBook and iPad?
One option is forwarding your Outlook contacts as vCard files which can be imported by the Address Book on your Mac, followed by being synced with your iPad.
In Outlook, select all contacts and at the menu bar select forward as vCard. Each contact will be a separate vCard file. Send the email to an email account you are accessing with the Mail app on your Mac.
Save the attached vCard files in a folder created on your Desktop or in whichever chosen location for the folder. At the Address Book menu bar, go to File and select Import navigating to the folder that incudes the vCard files. Open the folder to select.
