Hi Lee_Anne,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you're describing. If, as it currently stands, you're having both trackpad and sleep issues, you may want to try resetting the SMC and PRAM on you MacBook Pro. You may find the following articles helpful:

Tried plugging in a mouse as well. Nothing working

Can't quite put numbers on my score. In another thread about the same issue, the poster was able to free up the trackpad with compressed air blasts and regain complete functionality. In this case, success has not been complete. Maybe you need to be more agressive with the duster. And if push comes to shove in a Mac under warranty, better take it in. Trust me, Geniuses have seen more than their share of sand, dirt, crumbs or worse on the trackpads.
If the Mac is out of warranty and the Genius won't accomodate without a fee, here's an alternate approach. First get a can of high quality non-residual electronic contacts cleaner. This is a solvent used for cleaning circuit boards, microswitches and the like, in a spray can presentation. Now comes the tricky part: you want to be able to flush out all the crap jamming your trackpad but WITHOUT letting the solvent trickle down and carry the crud inside.
So open the lid, wrap the screen in a protective towel and while holding the Mac keyboard facing down, spray the cleaner liberally around the trackpad and ONLY the trackpad, letting it drip out and away from the Mac, working it till it clicks free. This, of course, is a two-person job: one hold the Mac and its protective coverings while the other sprays and exercises the trackpad.
According to what at least two posters reported afterwards, this solved their issue when the dry approach (air duster) didn't.

I have a Serial Number which worked fine on my MacBook Pro but does not work on my desktop PC (Win 7).  What is the problem?

You haven't identified the version so I can't tell if offering you contact options for Adobe Support will be of use to you.  But they will likely be your only hope of getting resolution unless you just happen to be using the wrong number as the serial number.

  • HT1899 Installed windows 8 through boot camp ,track pad not working

I installed windows 8 though boot camp , track pad not working

The update to boot camp is now available!
Just installed Windows 8.1 Pro to my MacBook Pro, Retina, Mid 2012, OS X 10.8.5: Memory 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
After going through the usual process from boot camp, then installed windows and the support drivers... the trackpad rt click did not work. I had to then go download the boot camp again from windows 8 using the url below and ran the set up.exe from the boot camp folder you can download from below. Run it within windows 8.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638
    Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033
This solved the Trackpad Right Clicking issue (not working) as well as tapping.
The wireless and network connectivity issues where resolved as well. The Boot camp support software enabled a boot camp control panel available in the windows 8 system tray and from there you can enable the track pad to tap and use the secondary click.

    Hello Vikas,
It certainly can be inconvenient and frustrating when your trackpad is acting erratically.  I recommend reviewing the following article for an issue like this:

  • MacBook Track Pad Not Working

My MacBook is 2 years old and recently the track pad will not click or pinch to zoom.  I had to change the setting so that I am able to tap to "click" on things.
    Any help?

Most likely the track pad is damaged or made contact with water.. (Since the bottom layer is glass) Either way, best solution is to bring it back to the nearest Apple store to get it fixed. It's usually a hardware problem from either manufacture error or you've used it intensively

  • Bamboo Track Pad not working properly

My Bamboo track pad is not working properly.  Plugged it in into my macbook pro via USB like usual today and for some reason when I try to use it and begin using the pen tool in illustrator my pointer only stays in the top left corner of my screen and wont move with my pen.  This is the first time I have had this problem with my Bamboo track pad.  Not sure why it is doing this.  My MBP recognizes the track pad but for some reason it just won't work properly.  Not sure if I need to reinstall the driver or what?  Any help would be grateful, thanks.

Ralph, thanks for the quick reply.  All of the Trackpad preference boxes are checked for "Point & Click" except "Three finger drag."  Once "Three finger drag" is checked, this action spawns a simultaneous action in the Trackpad "More Gestures" area that changes the gesture for Mission Control from "three finger swipe up" to "four finger swipe up."
Since I am having this problem on an early 2009 iMac, I decided to check-out my 2013 MBPr for the same behavior.  Amazingly, all was working well with the built-in trackpad functionality regarding the "double-tap select and drag" until i checked and then un-checked the "Three finger drag" box (in Trackpad preference > point & click).  Now my "double-tap select and drag" is BROKEN on my 2013 MBPR.

  • Right side of track pad not working, only left side is working

the right side of the track pad on my MacBook Pro is not working, only the left side.

If this computer has a removable battery, take it out and see if the battery is swelling. If that is the case, try running the computer without the battery on just the charger, to check if the swelling is the cause.
If the computer does not have a removable battey, the best you can do is examine the underside for signs of a swelling battery.

  • MBP keyboard and track pad not working

Today the keyboard and track pad on our mac book pro laptop just stopped working. The mouse connected to it by usb continued to work but we can't type or anything. We tried the ^F6 keyboard shortcut but it did nothing since of course the keyboard isnt working. And it is also not the number lock key. The computer was working fine all day up until now. It is just under a year old. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. It appeared yesterday and then magically "repaired" itself. My MBP was fine today. Tonight the problem is back. No response from the keyboard and track pad. Track pad works fine using a USB mouse. My problem appears at start up. The cursor is in the usual upper left hand corner. It can't be moved. Restart, sleep then restart do not solve the problem.
    Suggestions?

  • 2008 Macbook pro left click not working properly after upgrading to 10.6.8

I have a 2008 Macbook pro and a few months ago after upgrading to 10.6.8 my left click has been wonky.
Using the trackpad the left click eventually gets "stuck" or stops responding and I have to push it multiple times before it does anything.  I have tried plugging in a mouse, but when I do so the mouse also behaves the same way.  The only way I seem to be able to get the clicking to work properly is to restart the computer with the mouse attached.
I have seen threads about trackpads being messed up by swollen batteries, but my battery is brand new and looks fine, and the clicking problem extends to an external mouse, so I believe it is something with the preferences.
I tried deleting  com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouchTrackpad.plist   and restarting and the problem seemed to be fixed, but then after about a half hour it returned.
Having to keep a mouse plugged into my macbook is driving me crazy, anyone know a solution?

I started having the same issue after update.  I'm on a MacBookpro running 10.7.2
ICalled apple and they did a remove battery reboot, a reload lion and a option/command/R/P reboot on startup and then the computer started working.  Two days later problem was back.  I then did a reboot and the computer was back to working.  Today the computer worked fine tell it went to sleep.  I had to do a hard reboot to get the Mac up and running and now no left click.  Please help. I can not use the Mac  with the trackpad, a mouse, a Bluetooth mouse, or a digital pad. All so signs of left mouse click not working.  One other item when you go to pick your user at startup the left mouse click works.  Help!
