Macbook pro turns off suddenly after the installing of a new 1Gb Ram

Hi everybody, ive just intalled today a new 1Gb RAM module from the apple store and now my macbook pro is 2Gb.
The thing is that today it have just turn off suddenly, loosing all my work, two times. It never happened before so i think that its just because of the RAM but, can this normally happens? Wat do you think i should do?
Thank u very much!

Sounds like you didn't install the RAM properly. Open back up, take the RAM out, carefully reseat it until you're sure it is all the way in, then put your computer back together and see if that solves the problem.

    Help Me!
My 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo shuts down without warning after I start it up. Sometimes it's 1 minute into the startup, sometimes its 10. But after installing snow leopard 10.6, it does this everytime without fail. My screen doesn't work, so I have it plugged it into an external monitor. When it's turned on and working, it functions perfectly. But all of a sudden, it will turn off. I copied the power information from the system profiler, which is pasted below. Any help on possible fixes would be great. Maybe some sort of MPU reset or something. Also, I tested the battery I'm currently using in another Macbook Pro of the same exact model, and it works fine. • Macbook Pro turns off suddenly

    Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro 13" and since I upgraded to Lion sometimes I recieve a message saying something like this:
"You need to turn off your computer. Hold down the power button..." and I can't do anything but restart my Mac.
I already did a disk repair and my HD is ok, updated my Lion to latest version. What should I do?

This is the kernel log of today, about 1 hour ago since I started to use my macbook.

without entering SafeSleep. only one time it worked on 10.6.4

This is a current sensor on the power bus. This seems consistent with your symptoms.
A faulty sensor on the logic board means  the board has to be replaced,  take in for repair:

  • MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.

MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.  Battery had 41% just before this happened and green indicator on power cord is showing, so it seems like it's charging.  What should I do?

The led on the power adapter should be amber if it is charging.  Green just indicates that it is supplying power to the MBP.
    Try a SMC reset:

WHAT??? Now that's a disappointment! I was sure the all-seeing, all-knowing Prof. Kappy would instantly discover the problem thru time and space....
Ok, back to the issue at hand, the Prof. is right. In none of the OP's participation, nor in any of his choir of followers save mommy power is there the least hint of what Apple product is failing. While y'all get a move on and disgorge the details, may want to try a Safe Boot. Hold down the Shift key prior to the startup chime and wait awhile. IF it starts, then it means you have some third-party software that's causing the problem. Else there's a strong probability a complete reinstall will occur in your near future.
In the future and in spite of what some purists may say, be sure to service the system disk BEFORE patching. By "service" I mean booting up the Mac using your Install DVD (Snow Leopard or priors) or booting in Recovery Mode (Command R, in the Lions and successors), running the Disk Utility found in that mode and doing a Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions. Until NO errors show up. Cause patching up an already damaged system will only make things worse.

You either need to plug in your charger and if that isn't working if your machine is less than a year old take it in to your nearst Apple Store and let them deal with it. Or if you are out of warrantee you will need to get a new battery for your Mac

  • How to install Photoshop Elements 11 on Macbook Pro 10.8.3 after the installer failed to initialize

I tried several times to install Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro (10.8.3) but the installer failed to initialize and the Support Advisor inspection could not identify any issue. I went today to the Apple Store to get help and the Genius guy couldn't resolve the problem either. He told me to contact Adobe Support and he gave me an Adobe token number.
Does anyone knows how can I resolve this problem? Any help would be truly appreciate it!!!
    Thanks a lot!!!

  • MacBook Pro turns off intermittently.

I have a 2008 MacBook Pro.  Every few days the unit turns off while I am using it.  I have to hold the start button down 4-5 seconds to restart it.  Any suggestions as to the problem?
    Thanks,

  • Macbook Pro turns off during OS install

I have been given a 1st gen MacBook Pro to upgrade (clean install of Snow Leopard and a few apps). Specs are 2.16GHz with 2GB RAM and a (non-standard) 640GB drive. It is second hand so I don't know the history of it. After booting from SL DVD and starting the install (format drive first) the laptop turned off after a few minutes. Repeated process and same result and also tried a Leopard install DVD with the same result.
Any ideas? Never seen or heard of this ever happening to a machine short of having a power failure! The battery is fine and it will boot and run normally from an external drive.
    Any help appriciated.
    Cheers, Paul

    Try a new internal drive.
