MacBook Pro turns off when tilting backwards or forwards, also overheats
I have not seen this issue here before and I have had this since I have owned this machine. Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot for not doing it during warranty time but that's an entriely different discussion! When I pick my MacBook Pro 15" Unibody (Mid 2010 model). I sit with it in my lap, as do most of us I assume. The machine runs fine on normal applications but when do anything audio od video related, the temp rises quickly. I have a fan controller installed and I use that, and it seems to keep it at normal levels. The biggest issue I am having is that when I move the computer off my lap anda tilt it backwards or forwards, it shuts off! What a pain in the arse! It is quite frustrating. I've learned to work with it but I'm at the point now where I want to get this fixed or at least know what the problem is. I t happens whether plugged in or not. I was going to attempt re-seating the battery and maybe the logic board connections. Has anyone out there run into this issue? I may just have to take it in to the Apple folks but if I can take care of it myself I would rather do that. The computer still runs great and I plan to keep it for a while.
Thanks in advance.
do an SMC reset http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
it sounds like it would fix your issue.
if not:
Take it into apple.
The macbook pro's have a sudden motion sensor that will lock your hdd if it is being moved to prevent any damages.

You either need to plug in your charger and if that isn't working if your machine is less than a year old take it in to your nearst Apple Store and let them deal with it. Or if you are out of warrantee you will need to get a new battery for your Mac

This is a current sensor on the power bus. This seems consistent with your symptoms.
A faulty sensor on the logic board means the board has to be replaced, take in for repair:

MacBook Pro turns off when unplugged from outlet
I have a MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo 2.26GHz
2 days ago when I unplugged it from the wall it shut off. It has been doing this since even though the battery is fully charged.
Once it is off I am able to turn it back on not plugged in and use it for the full length of the battery without problem.
Anyone would know what would cause this? and how to fix it?
ThxI would try the SMC reset.

Macbook pro turns off when i charge it
My Macbook pro (2013 500mb 13') works fine but occasionally it will just turn off randomly when I'm using it. I have noticed recently that it happens particularly when I plug it in to charge. I am fully able to turn it straight back on after it turns off and it works normally again. It probably happens twice a day, I have it updated to the most recent updates and I have tried resetting the SMC and PRAM but nothing seems to work.
Resetting SMC may help.

For a while my MCP when I take it off the charger it doesnt hold the whole time as it should and the battery doesnt last long, and now the past couple days when i take my laptop off the power-cord it will stay on for five minutes then shut down. I dont know what is going on, maybe a bad battery? I got my computer august 2006 . These are my numbers.

Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 590

isnt the fully charge capacity a little low? what should I do?
thanks! If your MacBook Pro is a core duo model you may have a bad battery and be elgible for a battery replacement. The batteries on the original core duo MacBook and MacBook Pro had the warranty extended and extra year. The details are in this link.

Macbook Pro turns off when I put my iPhone by the left speaker
I have a Retina Macbook Pro from 2012 and an iPhone 5c. When I put my iPhone in a certain spot just under the left speaker of the computer, the computer will go into sleep mode without any buttons being pressed. Is this something I should be concerned about, because it seems really odd.
Magnets inside the iPhone can trigger sleep. That is normal.
Keep iPhone away from the MBP.
When you close the lid, magnets placed inside the lid triggers the sleep.

Hello all,
I have a issue with my macbook pro.
It only starts if you tilt it at a certain angle.
I have had it work and boot up normally before of I find the right angle and put a book under it.
If its not at an angle it does not boot, I can hear the Fans and th HDD start up and when it's st an angle,
Or I press it st that spot, the sleep light comes on, the DVD drive starts up and everything is fine. When I let go, it shuts off. Only, if I am
Lucky it will stay on.

Either an internal connector is loose, a wire is broken or ... ... the logic board is cracked. -
Macbook Pro turns off when the charger is moved
Had to replace my charger lately but since I've got the new one whenever I move my macbook (or just the charging cable) the macbook turns itself off. Is this a problem with the cable that I'll need to get looked at? Not sure whether this is important or not but this charger gets hot when it's plugged in even when it's not plugged into the mac whereas my old one never did.
Check the connection where the charge enters the MBP. Look for debris and discoloration. Also check that the spring loaded pins in the charger connector are free and not stuck.
Since this is a new charger, I suggest that you make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and bring the charger and the MBP. Have the technicians examine it. Also bring the purchase receipt for the charger.

I wanted to calibrate the battery my new macbook pro turns off
You should perform this procedure when you first use your computer? is this true? new macbook pro on may 11 2010 what happed was today on may 22 2010 i wanted to calibrate the battery my new macbook pro turns off when it runs out of battery. 3 times Typically, when macs run out of battery, they go into sleep mode. However mine skips this completely and just turns off. WHY? does this mean the battery is bad?
Resetting the PRAM (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/26871.html) fixed the problem in my case. then i did the calibrate the battery again this time it went to sleep not shut down i did this 3 more times why?
the 3 forced shut downs without entering SafeSleep. with logs indicating improper shutdown, will that cause severe corruption to the os and do i have to reinstall the os now?2.66 ghz 2010the 9 more 4 in 10.6.4 forced shut downs without entering SafeSleep. with logs indicating improper shutdown, will that cause severe corruption to the os and do i have to reinstall the os now?2.66 ghz 2010 but if it happens again you should try
i hate to do this reinstalling the OS, if this do not work also, then you should call apple, or take your MBP to an apple store. on june 24 2010 i am going to talk to spence about this. so what do i do now? this happed on june 16 2010 4 more times
without entering SafeSleep. only one time it worked on 10.6.4

MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.
MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on. Battery had 41% just before this happened and green indicator on power cord is showing, so it seems like it's charging. What should I do?
The led on the power adapter should be amber if it is charging. Green just indicates that it is supplying power to the MBP.
Try a SMC reset:
