Speakers on my macbook pro are too low, speakers on my macbook pro are too low
Listening to music, watching DVD's or movies on ITunes, the volumne is too low. Can I make it louder? It is already set as high as it could go.
Yes, I could use more volume myself sometimes. The speakers are not big enough on MacBooks for larger volumes... more might blow the speakers and there would be no chance of any quality sound. Make sure the volume is up on the apps. and websites you use. Earphones are perfect for me and sound way better then the baby speakers. Or try Grant's suggestion.

My macbook pro volume is low but it is at its maximum and I still can hardly hear it
Help!!! How can I get the volume louder on my MB Pro when the volume is already turned up at the highest. It is so low I can hardly hear it
I am having a similar problem. While watching videos last night, the sound on my 3 yr. old MBP suddenly decreased in volume and quality, becoming very "tinny". I have not been able to restore it to normal.

Why is the volume on my MacBook Pro suddenly so low?
The volume on my macbook pro is really low. It used to be much better, now I can hardly hear people when on skype or listening to music... everything is set on high volume... help!?!
Try:
Reboot into Safe Mode then reboot normally. Safe mode takes longer to boot than booting regularly. That is normal.

Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem. -
What i gonna do to my macbook pro its easy low battery.
what i gonna do to my macbook pro its easy low battery.
not sure what you mean by easily low - as Courcoul has stated - replace it if you're having problems with it.
or, keep it plugged in.
what applications are you running that makes your battery drain fast? if you're playing games or watching videos - you're lucky to get 3 hours of battery life. -
IPad volume too low on Apple TV when watching movies
Hi.
I have the latest Apple TV, 3rd Gen iPad and Retina MacBook Pro. If I play any movie through Apple TV using my iPad (using Video App) the volume is often far too low. This means that I have to turn my Amp/Speakers up (to around +60; +40 is normal) often leading to the sound cutting out altogether and on one occassion blew my amp.
However, I can put the identical film/file on my MacBook Pro - stream that into my Apple TV and the volume outputs at +40 as normal and everything is fine.
Also - If I stream TV etc through the iPad and play it onto my Apple TV - again this can be heard no problems at +40. The same can be said if I stream a youtube video using the iPad (+40 is fine)
I can only conclude there is something amiss with my iPad or in partic the Video App/settings for films but have no idea how to remedy it.
Pls can someone help me sort this as my Macbook pro is often left in the office and so I cant use it to watch movies at home all the time
ThanksHave you tried checking or resetting your volume limiter under "music" from the Settings home page. Scroll down to "Music" and tap "Volume Limit". Once there you can either turn it off or raise the maximum volume. If you go to the max it will just turn off the limiter.
Here's a video from CNET that also explains this easy adjustment.

Macbook Pro way too loud when headphones plugged
Hi
I've always had this problem, when I plug in any type of headphones, I must lower the volume to one - max two - "blocs" of volume, otherwise my head explodes. I unplug them, and I have normal volume range with the external speakers.
Anyone has that problem too??
thanksAnthony,
Have you learned anything more about this problem? I have the exact same issue. Headphones that work fine on an older Macbook Pro are deafening on the new (Mar. 2008) model.
I haven't had time to go down to an Apple store and see if it is the same on all machines.
Eric -
Sorry for the Caps-attack in the subject, but it's all too true. Any time I plug in headphones, the sound is painfully loud at the lowest volume setting. On video games and video players, this is usually fine (I can lower the volume through in game settings or on the player) but occasionally a flash animation will temporarily deafen me, and I have no way to avoid it but to close the tab.
Anyone else running into this problem? This forum is for troubleshooting compatbility issues between Mac OS and Windows. I suggest you post your question in the MacBook Pro discussions:

Katy Perry's "E.T." Video Volume Too Low
This is even after adjusting the video's properties and putting the volume to +100%.
When viewing the video the volume indicator in Windows displays a green bar... that green bar never moves above 1/8th of the volume available even when the volume slider is turned all the way up.
Volume in iTunes maxed, amplified through properties, headphone volume at max, Windows volume at max. This is the only song that gives me these issues, or I suppose I should say the only video. I have other purchased videos and they play fine... just this one plays too quietly.
Any help appreciated.Hi there, the left hand side of the phone has the volume up and down keys that allow you to adjust the volume during a call. You can only adjust it when a call is active so try calling your voicemail and then adjusting it to a higher volume.
If this still does not work your speaker might have a lot of fluff/dust in it from being in your pocket. You can take it in to a Nokia repair centre to have it cleaned out. They might even examine and replace the speaker if it is faulty and the handset is still under warranty

Mid 2010 MacBook Pro i7 - Crashing - Low $ - HEELLPP
My mid 2010 Macbook pro 15" with i7 running 10.85 has recently started crashing. I've really only used it extensively for the last 2 years so it's been doing quite well but has now started black screening then rebooting with no - at least not apparent to the user - sequence of events.
My partner isn't working (car hit and run) so budget is low and I'm currently pushing myself on Team Treehouse to learn coding to improve my job prospects and my salary so need the laptop right now.
Is the below the standard logic board replacement that I've found many have on forum? is it the video card? Just not sure which way to head and not in the budget for a totally new laptop though would be confident enough with the help of (PC) husband to upgrade hard drive or other components. OR am I best to take it to the Apple store for a genius assessment?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Kindest,
Kitty

Volume too low on ringer and with hands-free headsets
Both the ringer's volume and the volume within headsets are too low in my new Droid X. When holding it to my ear while talking it is loud enough well below max volume, but hearing people through headsets while driving is often too low with all volumes set to max (on loud freeways, for example). I usually keep my phone's ringer on silent vibrate, but it would be nice to be able to turn it up louder when the phone is sitting on a desk at home. Cell phone ringers can be obnoxiously loud, but there are times when people need to have them turned up.
Because it is an issue in both the ringer speaker and the jack for wired headsets, it seems like there is a good chance of getting a software fix to raise the max volume levels. Reading posts on forums, it seems clear that this problem is widespread in most, if not all, Droid X devises.
If you are having similar problems, please take a moment to call both Verizon and Motorola with a polite report of the issue. I spoke with both today and they said they were aware of the issue, and the tech at Motorola said they were "looking into" a software fix for it. If enough people call and report it, we have a better chance of getting a fix sometime soon.
Verizon's support line is: (800) 922-0204.
Motorola's is: (800) 734-5870 (I chose #6 for "other issues" a couple of times after routing into Droid support to get a live tech)
It can be frustrating to filter through the support systems and report it, especially if they tell you to try obvious things like rebooting the phone and turning the volume up, but it really is the only way to get them to fix this issue. Both techs I spoke with actually looked in their systems right away and acknowledged the issue is being reported by people.
Of course, if anyone has a real solution to this issue, please let us know what it is!Thanks for the suggestion JKramer. I should have been more clear about having adjusted all volumes up in the settings screen. Assuming all sound options are located within the "Settings --> Sound & Display" screen, then yes, I have tried changing them. I have also tried changing the option to "use incoming call volume for notifications" under the "ringer volume" settings, after reading that someone had success in improving volume that way.
This issue is not a problem all of the time. It is only an issue when there is an elevated level of background noise, such as driving on the freeway, or having music or a movie playing in the room.
The phone is otherwise excellent! I live and commute in areas of very spotty reception (with all cell providers), and this phone will keep calls and not even have voices garble where my past two phones have consistently dropped calls in at least five problem locations. So far, everything else about it seems to work great!
Maybe some of these phones don't have this issue. Or, maybe the people who say they don't encounter the problem are lucky enough to live in relatively quite environments most of the time. In a quiet house or office, it is certainly loud enough. It just needs to have the option for increased volume when in noisy places. The issue is that its "max volume" settings are not as loud as with other phones.
Searching for something like "Droid X volume" will indeed show many people experiencing these same problems on various forums... -
Finder fails to open when starting up macbook pro due to low disk space (possibly)
Dear forum,
I have a Macbook Pro (13") running snow leopard and have a partitioned hard drive (half OS X and half Windows 7). This morning I was using the Mac side and was running low on disk space (very low) so I was moving desktop files into folders to free up some space. I restarted the computer to see what the free space was but the computer stopped/froze at the desktop image (no folders or dock appeared. I restarted the computer many times but the finder never opens and all I see is the desktop wallpaper. I donnected usb drives and put in dvds but the finder never appears so I cn do nothing but shut down and start up.
I ran Disk Utility but it found no problems with the disk. I do not have a backup of the important file forlders on my drive and due to low disk space I am worried to reinstall and archive the OS since there may not be enough disk space to archive (only about 220 mb free on the apple side when I am in windows using bootcamp).
Does anyone know what happeded to my machine? Is there such low disk space that finder had an issue? I have started on such low memory before.
What does Archive actually do when reinstalling OS X? Does it make a copy of the HD files and folders or does it simply reinstall the operating system piece by piece while protecting the files and folders that I wish to save?
Thanks for all your help and sorry for the length of the writing (I wanted you to understand all before replying).Solved
By chance I got itunes to pop up (running hands over keys blindly) and with it the apple menu icon so I had access to my recently used items and so I could delete images from iphoto and thus bring the free disk space up above zero and then the dock/folders and finder came back....I have just backed up my important files......feeling better now
Any advice on how to more quickly handle this type of issue next time?
Thanks. -
I previuosly owned a Lumia 800 and now a Lumia 920, and both have exactly the same problem...the earphone volume is just too low. Things are fine of you are hearing in a quiet room, but if you are walking or jogging in the street, the music volume at 30\30 is too low.
Nokia should get an iphone or ipod and compare, Hard too see how Nokia can sell itself as a music platform, yet produce sub par music devices.
I'm angry because of this. The Lumia 920 is an expensive device. Switching back to the iphone...I love the Lumia 920 and the Windows 8 OS. I started off with the iphone, then to android, and now to windows 8 phone. However, there are certain things that should be left up to the consumer to control. Not everyone is the same, your hearing may be more sensative than another person. Since this is a Nokia issue, the volume should have been left to a volume level that will please everyone. I like listening to music loud especially when I am cutting my grass. It is annoying using a weed trimmer and I can hardly hear the music cause it is too low even though I have it at the max setting. The exteranl speaker is the same issue. 10/10 is rediculous. Everyone is always trying to control the way others do things and say things, express themselves, etc. It needs to be adressed and included in the next update.

Volume too low on download from itunes store how to fix
My download from itunes store won't play on my ipad at a decent volume. How do I fix it?
Actually, I suspect the download itself is too low and fuzzy. How do I reload? If you are having a problem with a song you downloaded from iTunes, you can report it to an iTunes worker and they will redownload the song for you for free. Go to the song you bought and find where it says "report a problem". Click on that, and you can explain your problem to an iTunes worker.
