MacBook Pro: Weird stuff happening

So it was plain nothing. I opened my MBP, resuming it from sleep mode. I signed off, and tried to sign back in. Entering password — it does nothing. Repeated it — nothing. Entering wrong password so many times — my Mac doesn't get locked. I sign in as a Guest, then sign off. I signed in successfully in Logon screen, but as soon as I signed on, another window appeared telling me to enter password (like when you exit sleep), just saying "Guest user". I repeated, signed in. My desktop image changed to solid color. Then, Mac screenshoted itself and set the screenshot to desktop image. Then I forced shut off, in case that it's a problem.
Do those symptoms mean that hackers got access to my Mac? What can I do if yes?

If you want to preserve the data on the boot drive, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
1. Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup) or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in the support article linked below, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”

If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode by holding down the key combination command-T at the startup chime. Connect the two Macs with a FireWire or Thunderbolt cable. The internal drive of the machine running in target mode will mount as an external drive on the other machine. Copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

3. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.

Macbook Pro weird boot problems

I have a macbook Pro (late 2012) with OS X Yosemite (latest update) and I have some weird stuff going on in it...
2 days ago, I was using normally it, as I use it for work, when it suddenly freezes (never happened before). when i turn it on again, a empty symbol shows instead of the grey apple until i turn it off.
then, when i opened the recovery mode to see if my HD was damaged or something, it just do not shows my HDD at all to verify for integrity. I trun it off and let it be.
After several hours later, i decided to try to boot it again, and, for my surprise, it boots normally and all my files are normal. But after 10-15 minutes backing up all my important files to cloud services, it begins to be really slow. The spinning disk is shown even when i tried to close a finder window, move simple pages files or even to open the top menu to shut it down. The weird part is going even crazier: when i put a freezing gel (a gel packet that freezes and thaw without water is involved) under the macbook, the slowness is off and it works almost at normal speed. when the freezing effect is off, the slowleness is back
All this parts repeats very often.. sometimes the empty symbol appears when booting, sometimes it boots normally and after several minutes it becomes really slow. I tried to diagnose if a hardware problem was involved (pressing "D" after pushing the power button), but no problems were found at all.
what is going on? do you guys even had this? I hope it´s not the logic board!

The startup drive is failing, or there is some other internal hardware fault.
Back up all data on the drive immediately if you don't already have a current backup. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

I am getting electric current type shocks whilst using my track pad on my macbook pro. This happens when it is both plugged in to charge and also unplugged. I am left with a constant type pain of prickly pins and needles even when I am not using it.

I have recently bought a Macbook pro and have noticed that I am getting an electric current running up my fingers when using the track pad. This happens when it is charging but most worryingly it happens when it is not plugged in. It leaves me with pins and needles type feeling in my hand and arm even when I am not using it. Also when I sit it on my lap I get the same electrical current in my legs and down to my feet.
Surely this cannot be what I should expect with an apple product?, has anyone else experienced this?.
Yesterday I couldn't bare to use it the current was so strong. I went out for the rest of the day and suffered with pins and prickly needles all day.

Two possible courses of action suggest themselves:
(1) Return your computer immediately to point of purchase and/or authorized service provider.
or
(2) Consult with your doctor about your neurological symptoms.

Graphics in MacBook Pro Weird

I'm experiencing an issue with the graphics on my MacBook Pro. For some reason the longer the computer is on the more the graphocs deterioirate. There is an external monitor connected to the laptop and it doesn't display the phenomenan.

If you are seeing changes with time on the MBP screen but not an external monitor then the issue is not with the graphics module(s) on the logic board, but the LCD monitor itself. If it degrades with use, then could be building heat or having issues with its own controller.
This would be a good candidate for a visit to the genius bar and have some diagnostics run to find out where the fault is.

MacBook Pro - Weird problem. Really weird!

My MacBook Pro, a 15-inch, Early 2011, has been driving me crazy the past few months. Here is the problem and as crazy and weird as it may seem, believe me, it's 100% REAL! Most of the time it boots just fine and my wireless card is working fine. If I'm working on a desk and the laptop is not going to be moved at all, everything goes well for as long as I want. If I try to pick up the **** thing or move it, even for an inch, **** brakes up! No wireless. Trying to deactivate it and then activate it again only makes things worse. Then the wireless sign becomes gray with a big X in the middle which means no wireless card is installed . I thought it was the card itself, so I bought a brand new one. No luck, still the same issue. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue but I can't figure out what. I've checked the antenna cables coming from the card all the way to the screen but nothing seemed out of order.
It's really annoying. I have a laptop and I have to treat it as a desktop. Any help would be really, really appreciated.

Try a startup in Safe Mode. If that does not fix it, perhaps you should take it in to the Apple store, as it is still under warranty. Here is the link for the Genius Bar.

MacBook Pro- Weird Problem

Well, whenever I press down on places near the trackpad, as I remove the pressure I hear sounds coming from the trackpad. I've never noticed it before, and I want to know what it is. Is there a way to fix it? If so, how? My MacBook Pro is a late-2011.

The sound itself IS coming from the trackpad, not any other part of the computer. I have a wireless USB mouse connected (gaming reasons)
Could it be because I press down on the trackpad? When I click on something, I push it down all the way until I hear that click. The click coming from me releasing pressure on the computer is the same click as the trackpad click. I just wonder if my trackpad is going bad, and if there's a way to fix it.
Another problem, the nearest Apple store is easily 2-4 hours away from here and I'm usually busy every day of the week, I can't just drive 4 hours to the apple store and back... even though I wish I could.
It's an on-and-off sound. It happened a few minutes ago, but now it has stopped. It happens at least once or twice a day when I use the computer and sometimes the sound doesn't happen at all.
But I can easily say its coming from in the trackpad itself.

Macbook Pro weird top left noise.

My mid 2012 macbook pro is making some weird strong noise coming from the top left corner. I tried to speed up the fans. They seemed to work but the frequency of the noise varies so it's definitely a problem linked with the left fan. What can I do ? There is no apple services where I live. Thanks.

Get a pentalobe driver and take the bottom cover off of the MBP and inspect it for possible dust and debris in the fan and other parts.

MacBook Pro: Weird spontaneous wake up

My Wife's MBP (Core 2 late 2006 model) had been asleep for 4 days when it suddenly woke up yesterday. We were not at home at the time, but this morning the machine was running (steady light, warm, but not hot), but opening the lid did not wake up the screen.
I had to do a hard reboot, but I noticed afterwards that the machine had been running all night (doing log rotations at midnight) after the spontaneous wake up yesterday. I checked the logs, and found that the wake reason was "USB7 USB4". Checking with the profiler, I found out that these are the internal iSight and bluetooth controller! My initial suspicion was that the machine was set to wake up from bluetooth events, but it wasn't.
Any clues?
Ah, and one more thing: Afterwards there were messages from UserEventAgent-Aqua about the /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/TextInput.menu

If you have another BlueTooth device, you can use it to test whether you can induce a repeatable awakening of your MBP even though your MBP setting is "Off." Knowing whether your problem is repeatable may help eliminate some potential causes.
The next time you do not use your MBP for several days, if the BT test suggested above has not yielded any new information, it might be worthwhile to perform the test suggested in my first response.

You may have hit upon something here. I live in summer thunderstorm country, so I know that power hits and lightning's electrical noise can effect any of our sensitive electrical devices. Although battery powered devices like your MBP are well protected against power surges, brownouts, and outages, it seems possible to me that RFI from lightning could have resulted in the problems you mention.
Another possiblity you can check is whether your firmware might need update:

Also, if your MBP is still covered by AppleCare, you might want to talk with them about it.

Macbook Pro weird noise in the upper left corner.

Hi....
I have a mid - 2012 MacBook Pro. Whwn the Turbo Boost kicks in, and the laptops gets hot, the MacBook starts doing a noise that sounds like... clicking?
It definitely sounds mechanical, and it also sounds a bit like something is loose as the sound becomes a bit weaker when I push the cover of the MacBook.
I have a suspicion that it is something to do with the left fan.
When I close the laptop and let it go to sleep and then open it again, the sound is gone. Unfortunately, only to come back every now and then.
What could this be?
If it really is the fan, is there a way to fix this without getting a new one or taking it to a Genius Bar?

Nope. Only an Apple tech can diagnose and fix the problem. You could try cleaning the fans yourself, or even replacing the fan yourself, but I don't recommend doing so.

Macbook Pro weird issue need help please

Just updated this Macbook Pro 2.16 ghz to 3 gigs ram and installed Leopard. Screen won't show at all, is all black though the machine seems to boot. The OS disc is in the optical drive, though can't boot to it nor can it be ejected.
Strangest thing I've ever seen. Anyone have a thought on this?

Bootup macbook pro weird sound

My macbook pro 13 inch (early 2011) makes an abnormal noise when booting up, this sound is very different than the traditional noise the computer makes, im not sure how to otherwise describe it. Instead of the normal four toned sound it makes a high pitched two toned sound.
All the help would be greatly appreciated.

Does Messages, or some other instant messaging or chat app, start up when you log in? If so, that's probably the cause. Such programs often play sounds when you go online, when a "buddy" is detected as being online or goes offline, etc.

Macbook Pro Overcharge just happened!

Today, I noticed my charger had a problem on the cable, which was shabby in one part, and it wasn't charging unless I moved it around. So, I tried to put some ducktape in order to fix that problem.
After that, what happened is the charger worked again, but when I connected to my macbook it started sparkling and after 2 seconds i heard a "puufff". I quickly went to check my macbook which I left "suspended" and he was turned off. I tried to turn it on or click the button that shows battery state, no signs of life!
Happily, moments after, I pressed the button and it magically started booting up, UFFF!
My problem is, I cannot ignore what just happened, can there be any resulting damage from this unfair experience?
I want to know if everything is alright inside, he's working quite normal now, but still wonders me if I won't have problems in the future.

You should purchase a new adapter as well. Duct tape is not a long term fix.

Weird stuff happening after upgrade to Captivate 8

Until this week I was using Captivate 7. I've now upgraded to Cap. 8 and am finding odd things happening. The oddest that the audio from one presentation is now attached to a different presentation. I am quite spooked by this - I'm wondered what else has gone wrong in the upgrade that I haven't noticed.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have spent most of the day repairing this problem so I am pretty frustrated right now.

Thanx for your post REILLY875 but this problem I have oocurs the minute you turn on the computer, before it even starts to Power On Self Test. I can assure it has nothing to do with the loading of Windows drivers etc.
This delay I mentioned occurs from the moment I turn on the computer with the PrOn switch to the time it starts posting. Once it starts the post procedure, all is then fine and it continues on to boot from the hard drive with no problems.
I made mention of the fact that it now also takes longer for the bios to detect the SATA drive, quite likely a minor fix on MSIs behalf due to some HDDs not spinning up quick enough causing HDD detection and boot problems. I have read about this. It could be they deliberatley added a delay to this detection process. Not quite sure.
But in any case though, whilst this unusual sound I get from the speaker isn't a problem, it is quite strange as you say and is clearly not normal. The really annoying thing is that it does it sometimes and not others. I really hate intermittent type problems like this one.
I guess at the end of the day, unless your running a P4EE, what was the point of updating the bios. I know all us hardcore computer enthusiasts do it because that's just what we do. It's just a shame it wasn't more fool proof.
