There's only have been a few issues in XP and Windows 7 with sound problems so you might want to do a search for something like:

Here's one I found real quick-like:

  • Can I transfer my email in outlook on my macbook pro (windows for mac) onto my ipad mini?Help!?

can I transfer my email in outlook on my macbook pro (windows for mac) onto my ipad mini?Help!?

Outlook is an email client and that does not indicate if your email is POP or IMAP. If you have an IMAP email account, all of your emails actions will automatically sync across your devices. If you have POP, it does not work that way.
If you are asking if you can transfer the current emails on the Mac onto the iPad, no you cannot, unless the email is an IMAP account and they can download onto the iPad again from the server.

You can use XP but it has to be in a Virtual Machine and OS X as the host instead of as a dual boot system with XP in its own partition. That is how I run Windows on my Mac, in a Virtual Machine.
Take a look at VritualBox from Oracle. It's free and works very well.

  • Cursor disappears on macbook pro windows 8.1

I have a MacBook Pro running Windows 8.1.  Over the past few weeks, while doing work (email, Word, Powerpoint  - basic office work), the cursor would disappear.  I would need to restart the computer for the cursor to reappear.  Today, the cursor has disappeared and I can't get it back with a restart.  I have read many posts on disappearing cursors but none seem to fix my problem.  All other functions (as far as I can tell) are functioning.  I am using the trackpad.  All features work except for the ability to see the cursor.  I have tried the following:
    1. Restart
    2. Power off / on
    3. Looking for additional microsoft updates and updating.
    4. Removing updates that have installed in the past 5 days
    5. Removing update KB2919355 (It wouldn't let me so it reinstalled it)
    6. Mouse settings - I tried changing scheme, size etc - no change.  I was able to select within Mouse Properties - Press CNTRL to see Mouse - this works.  When I press the control button - it shows me a target of where the cursor is but it doesn't show the cursor - WORKAROUND.
    7. Added a mouse - it connected, made a sound as it connected but same situation as cursor - functional but can't see the cursor
    8. Went to MSconfig and tried booting in Diagnostic set up - CURSOR REAPPEARED - but no idea which app is causing the problem.
    9. I went back to MS Config and did normal mode - cursor disappeared at restart  and disabled all the start up apps and restarted - still no cursor.
    10. I pressed all the FN+F1, f2,f3 etc. - no change
    11. I checked to make sure I was only using 1 screen (and not extending my screen).
I have an appointment at the Genius bar on Monday but there has to be an easy fix to this.  Any ideas?

Additional Info - after working on this problem for 4 hours, I shut my laptop in frustration and took a break.  1 hour later I opened my mac and the cursor had magically returned.  No restart, no power on/off - nothing.  Frustration.  If anyone else has had this happen and has actually fixed the problem let me know. I'm sure it will reoccur.

  • How to get A2DP on Macbook Pro (Windows 7 X64)

I have been fighting like crazy to figure out a way to get A2DP working on my Windows 7 x64 bootcamp partition, any time I pair a stero headset (tried Dynex and Rocketfish) it detects the device but then says there are no compatible drivers for it, provides a link to Broadcomm to download current drivers, and then the installer sits there saying it can't detect any bluetooth adapters. This seems to be a common theme from searching the web as Microsoft doesn't appear to include A2DP support native in Windows 7 and requires the bluetooth manufacturer to provide this support.
Does anyone know how to get A2DP working under Windows 7 X64 on a macbook pro?

I was researching this issue today as well, and so far the best I have found is:

I haven't had a chance to try it yet (I'm at work), but I will over the weekend.

  • Early 2011 macbook pro, windows 8.1 bootcamp crashes

    Hi,
I have some problems with running windows 8.1 on my macbook. I have managed to manipulate Bootcamp so I can create a bootable USB, the installation went fine and windows is booting correctly. The problem I have is with the installation of the bootcamp drivers. During the installation of the intel Video drivers I get a BSOD and shows me the following SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED(igdkmd64.sys). I already troubleshooted the problem and now the problem is wih the intel hd graphics 3000 drivers. and tried the following to fix the problem.
    -     Follow the normal apple bootcamp installation.
    -     Try the installation of the newest intel drivers.
    -     Use windows update to search for drivers
    -     Tried multiple installation and windows 8.1 copies.
this all ended in the same result during the installation, a crash with the same error. This crash also happens when I am not trying to install anything.
Here is some more information about my setup.
    -      macbook pro 15 inch early 2011
    -      2 hard drives 1 ssd for my windows installation and the other for OS X Yosemite
    -     Windows 8.1 enterprise ISO
    -     Newest bootcamp Drivers
I am stuck here and can find nothing that works, I have now tried the installation about 20 times but every time the same thing. I know this configuration works becuase I had it before.
    Thanks in advance!

I tried this solutions but not resulted:
1 -  MacBook Pro audio sound fix

    2- Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB 11)
I tried downloading the "High Definition Codecs" driver from Cirrus Logic's website but the download link doesn't work.
    http://www.cirrus.com/en/support/lic/lic3.html?uri=/en/pubs/software/CS4207WinVi sta_Win7_32-64-bit6-6001-1-30.zip
3- Have already the latest  Bootcamp drivers http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1720?viewlocale=pt_PT Boot Camp 5.1.5621
Any idea how to get the sound drivers up ?

  • On a MacBook Pro - windows on external drive?

    Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Macs. Looking to buy a MacBook Pro 17 inch, and I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to load windows on an extermal disk, firewire 800 or E-sata off an express 34 card?
If this isn't possible, can OS X be loaded on external drives?
I'd rather load windows on external drive than OS X.
    Thanks,
    Chris

You'll need to repair or replace your SuperDrive as that is the only way Windows can be installed (downloading is what you do with files on the Internet). And it must be the built-in SuperDrive. The external one Apple sells for the MacBook Air and 2012 iMac will not work.

  • Sound problem on Macbook Pro (Windows 7)

I have installed windows7 on late 2011 macbook pro but sound not working.
I have used bootcamp for installation.
Also the audio jack emitting red light.
    Please help

Assuming you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, did you download the Windows Support software when you ran Bootcamp Assistant? Did you save the Windows Support software per the instructions you printed from within Bootcamp Assistant? Did you install the Windows Support Software from within Windows per the instructions in Bootcamp Assistant?
If you are running Snow Leopard the Windows Support Software is not downloaed it is on your Snow Leopard install disk.

  • MacBook Pro & Windows 7 Driver Compatibility Issue

    Good Day,
Yesterday, I was using my Windows 7 Bootcamp Partition in my Mac and found something odd about it. When I opened my "Devices and Printer" window, I saw that the computer icon has a small yellow warning icon (yellow triangle with ! character) saying that one of my Drivers was having problems. I opened my Device Manager but all drivers seem to have been installed properly. Anyhow, I right clicked the Computer icon and clicked trouble shooting and it is suggesting me to install a NVIDIA Driver other than the one that came in the Bootcamp disk. For now I have decided to ignore the computer icon since I don't have any visible troubles in my MacBook Pro. Anyway I would like to ask if these computer icons with warning signs are common in my MacBook Pro model or any other Mac.
Thank You for any help that can be provided in this matter

Hello vea1083 -- this sounds like the persistent USB universal host controller problem. See my report on http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2411685&tstart=15&messageID=12 387554#12387554 if you need a workaround. Unless you have trouble with USB ports (some do, some don't) it might not be worth the fixing at this time.
Well, I can tell you that for the time being I haven't had any kind of problems with USB devices when connected to my Windows 7 Bootcamp Partition. I only use a USB Joystick to play Microsoft Flight Simulator X, I also went and checked the Device Manager on Windows 7 and I have not seen a warning icon on any of the devices. I specifically went to the drivers that are in question and the device manager indicates that the USB drives are working properly. However since this post I had to reinstall OSX and I will be reinstalling Windows 7 sometime this week after finishing installing all the OSX updates that I have in software update, so I'll be posting back soon.
I also would like to ask you if you know, why this issue is happening with Windows 7 when running on Bootcamp?
    Thank You for your Assistance!

  • Macbook Pro, Windows xp, Airpot Extreme, and Internet...

This may have been touched on in this forum but I still cannot make things work (semi-newbie). MBP 2.33 15", the vendor installed Windows XP, and there is not a problem connecting from the Mac side to my Airport extreme wirelessly. The Windows side, however, does not now, and has never been able to connect to the Airport. An Apple care guy took me through the windows set up and told me my 'windows wireless drivers' were not installed. Does this sound true? Do I try (gulp) to uninstall windows xp and reinstall from the cd? Do I track down a MS techie and hand the laptop and xp disc over to him to install? Will this fix the problem? Any advice from those who know is appreciated...farmdoc
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

If you open the Airport Admin Utility and configure your base station you will see a "Change Wireless Secirity…" button. Click on it and you will see what method you're using. While the Wireless security field states what method you're using it's won't state whether you're additionally allowing both WPA and WPA2 so you need to confirm it.

  • Boot Camp for Macbook Pro "Windows 8"

Hello. Excuse me my ignorance. I have MacBook Pro > http://www.zzounds.com/item--APLMBP17
And I installed Windows 8.. I can't find Boot Camp for it.. Help me please...

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Windows 8 is only compatible with Mid 2010 15-inch or newer MacBooks Pro, and your computer is older, so there aren't drivers for Boot Camp in Windows 8 for your MacBook. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634
You could install Windows 8 because your Mac is compatible, but Apple decided not to give Boot Camp compatibility with Windows 8 to your computer, so it won't work correctly with Windows 8. You can continue using it with Windows 8 or you can install Windows 7 and download the Boot Camp drivers, so it will work correctly

    Hi Everyone,
I've successfully installed Windows 8 Pro on my MacBook Pro, however I can't get any of the drivers installed properly.
I've installed the BootCamp installer package in Windows, and it ran, but I can't use Wifi at all.
Any ideas? I've tried this about 10 times, Googled it, etc. Really stumped.

    Hi Anthony,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you see unexpected video issues on your MacBook Pro, be sure to try the troubleshooting tips in this article:

I'd recommend starting with these steps:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Start up in Safe Mode.
