  • Problems connecting my macbook pro to my samsung led Tv

Hi. I try to present some pictures and videos by connecting my macbook pro to my samsung led Tv but my mac doesn't recognize the Tv (or it could be that my TV doesn't recognize the mac). What should I do?

I have problems too with some projectors and the DVI--VGA adapter that came with my MBP. The projector is recognized by the computer, but does not show any signal.
With the help of Stéphane Madrau, who has written the excellent tool SwitchResX, I found out that the projector reports that it takes digital input when I connect the MacBook Pro, but analog when I connect it to my 12" PBG4. From the DDC information (collected with SwitchResX):
    MacBook Pro, DVI--VGA:
    Input signal & sync:
    Digital
    PBG4, miniDVI--VGA:
    Input signal & sync:
    Analog input with: 0.700V / 0.300V
    Separate Sync
    Composite Sync
Given that the VGA cable is analog only, I would think that the MBP tries (or rather, does) output digital signals only, which don't make it into the VGA cable. If I find a solution I will post it here.
The clue was that the computer did not report any vertical scan frequencies for the external display, while it did so for a projector that worked.

  • Connecting a Macbook Pro to a Samsung LCD TV. Can anyone tell me where to find information on what I need and how to do it?

I want to connect my 2009 Macbook Pro to my Samsung LCD TV. I am afraid to go somewhere and ask and get bogus information so am putting it out here to see if anyone can help with the how tos and the types of cords/adapters I might need to purchase.

You might profit from a visit to a Minneapolis Apple store. With a brand new Mac, I think they will be most helpful - not just with transferring files, but with other advice as well. And I strongly recommend you invest in a back up drive. The Apple folk can help with that as well.

  • Project MacBook Pro screen onto Samsung smart TV?

There are all kinds of connections on the back of a Samsung smart TV. Is there a way to have my MacBook Pro use the Samsung TV as the display instead of, or in addition to, the existing display on the computer?
    Thanks!

On Mountain Lion, an AirPlay icon appears in the menu bar whenever a suitable video output device is connected, and the device will appear as a selection. If it does not appear, then there is a communication problem between the Mac and the display device that can be difficult to diagnose.
I don't question the corporate animosity you describe but I doubt it extends to preventing AirPlay mirroring from working properly. Usually it is a matter of configuring your display device to recognize the external input. Make sure you are using a compatible adapter, if that is a factor in your application.
Use System Preferences > Displays to determine if the Mac detects the presence of an external display.

  • Macbook Pro Retina with Samsung 2053BW

I recently bought a Macbook Pro Retina that I was planning to use with my Samsung 2053 22" monitor (1650x1050) and bought a MiniDisplay Port aswell.
However I can not seem to get this monitor to work with the Macbook Pro.
The Samsung monitor works fine with my windows desktop and has done so for years.
I also went to the local applestore here and got them to test both my MiniDisplay Port with an external monitor with my DVI-D cable aswell.
They did not test it with my Macbook Pro Retina as I did not bring it, but will most likely go and get them to test that also.
Though I think the problem is with the compatability between the macbook and the samsung display.
Does anyone have anything else I can try or suggestions for my problem? I have also tried resetting the pram without any results.

You did not remove your Windows partition correctly. You need to remove it using Boot Camp Assistant. If you cannot then you will need to repartition the entire drive back to a single partition/volume.

  • Mid 2010 Macbook Pro to a Samsung Tv. (Mode not supported)

Hi, I have a macbook pro mid 2010, when connected to an external tv, i get the mirroring option, however when i uncheck the mirroring option (cause i need 2 desktops screen instead of one), my external monitor shows " Mode not supported ". I have a samsung LCD TV. It works perfectly with mirroring option, but I don't want a mirroring option..... Can anyone help?

    I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch early 2011.
The new features available in OS X Yosemite like Continuity, Handoff, etc are not supported in this model.
I did upgrade RAM to avoid any possible slowdown.
I found replacing the HD with SSD is  too expensive for  a 4 years old model.
Replacing the CPU/GPU is not for amateurs.
If you think that rebuilding a Mac part by part is a viable option, please go ahead and rebuild it.
    Best.

  • What do i need to connect my macbook pro to my samsung widescreen tv?

My Samsung Widescreen TV has a hook-up (15 pin connector/serial port?) for a PC. What do I need to do to connect my MacBook Pro to it and can I use the TV as the monitor or for viewing an internet website?  I'm trying to use the larger screen for a meeting of several people to discuss website improvements?
    Thanks

If you can tell me whch TV & MBP you have i can give you exact cable part numbers and settings but short of that i'll try & see what i can do for you. Older MBP do not support audio over the HDMI & by default VGA doesn't either so will need an audio cable in addition to the video regardless which input you use. aparently newer MBP Do support audio over HDMI so as long as your TV does also you're a one cable hookup. My Samsung has a specific HDMI port labled DVI/ HDMI which accepts a cable i got at the apple store & simply plug  play. Look in your samsung manual to verify what resolutions the TV suppports, select the input & mode from your menue and set the resolution & you should be good to go. Obviously you'll need to do a little tweaking inorder to optimize the screen but assuming you're familliar with your mac to begin with it's a no brainer. you might not be able to run optimal resolution on the TV untill you close the lid (clamshell mode) on the MBP which means you need a key board & trackpad or mouse. on the other hand if you are attempting to mirror the displays or use it as a 2nd display those modes are also available from the MBP setup. you can detect & gather your screens & calibrate the screens right on the MBP (under dispalys) and once you have the TV reckognizing the input it's nothing but a monitor. now all of the above assumes you are NOT running Lion as i'm NOT. I hope this at least gets you in the ballpark.

  • Connecting Macbook Pro 15" to Samsung HDTV - Audio Problem

    Hey guys,
I'm new to these forums so I hope i'm posting this in the correct section! On to my problem...I have a MacBook Pro 15" 2.8 GHz- Late 2009 (model: MB986LL/A) and I'm currently trying to connect it to my new TV which is a Samsung LCD HDTV (model: LN46C610).
The video connection is perfect. I'm using Apple's Mini-DisplayPort to DVI, via DVI to HDMI to my TV.
The audio connection for some reason is not working.
I've tired using an RCA cable, which has a regular audio jack on one end, and the 2 coloured wires (yellow + red) at the other end. No luck.
Now I was told to buy a Mini-Toslink cable to connect from my TV to my MBP. I've plugged the Optical Cable into the TV and the other end to my MBP. Yet I still have no sound.
Can anyone please guide me on how to set this up? Maybe i'm doing something wrong or i'm using the wrong cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Karman

Ok i'm in the Utility but i'm confused...where would I go to select it to change the output?
Because everywhere i've tried...I don't see an option to change it...
*EDIT: ok I've noticed when I plug in the mini-toslink cable to my MBP, i notice the output source changes from Internal Speakers to Digital Output*
*EDIT #2: Still no sound when I do that...also on the back of my TV, the digital output connection use to have a red light in it, and now it doesn't anymore?*

  • I cannot get a signal from my MacBook Pro to a Samsung T220HD using an HDMI cable

I was in the Apple store to see how to improve the resolution on my Samsung T220HD, which I had connected to my MacBook Pro using the PC cable and an Mini DisplayPort adaptor.  The staff recommended I buy a Kanex Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable instead.  I've plugged the new cable in, and the Samsung display reads "Check signal cable".
I don't have another cable to test it; am I doing something wrong?

Mini Dis[playPort cables have a lot of contacts, and require a lot of force to seat properly. Push until all the metal part of the plug disappears into the jack.

  • Macbook Pro with a Samsung 244T

I just connected the monitor to my macbook and it finds it instantly and sets the display to the samsungs native resulution automatically (Great!)
    My question is:
Can I use the samsung monitor as the main monitor for the macbook?
If I use mirror mode, it sets it as the lcd's native resolution making my samsung monitor look bad and pixelated.
As an "extended monitor" ths samsung native resolution looks awesome but I wanted to play the HD trailers in full screen mode on my samsung monitor and use it as my main monitor.

    Erick,
There's not much difference that I'm aware of between the two monitors as far as the software and system behavior, but you can move the menu bar to the external monitor if you wish. Just open the System Preferences, choose Displays and from there select the Arrangement tab (only present when an external monitor is attached). Now just drag the menu bar in the representation of the built-in monitor to (the representation of) the external monitor. You'll see a red outline both in the Displays preference panel and on the actual screens to show which monitor will hold the menu bar if you release the mouse at that point.
You might want to check out up front what happens if you move the menu bar to the external monitor and then disconnect that monitor. One would hope that the menu bar reverts to the internal monitor, 'cause without access to the menu bar, lots of things on the Mac become difficult...

  • Connexions macbook pro et tv samsung wifi

    Bonsoir,

You can use your MacBook Pro as a DLNA server by using 3rd party software - try to google "DLNA server mac"

  • No response from MacBook Pro when connecting Samsung Galaxy S4 to a USB port.

The PTPCamera process starts, but is only visible in the activity monitor. The phone itself reports being connected but it does not show up in Finder. I am using the USB port on the MacBook, which works with everything else. I have also tried Kies, which does not find the phone either. No problem when connecting the phone to a PC. Any known solution to this problem? I would be greatful for helpful ideas.
My MacBook Pro: OS X 10.8.4 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 8GB. All available updates installed.

Hello HowardShachter! Yes I can see how that can come across as puzzling! I can certainly step in and review this with you! Where did you purchase the Uniden device? Have you verified that your Bluetooth settings are correct within the phone? A hard reset is typically a last resort to try and resolve the issues, but definitely is a possibility to try if the problem persists. Keep us posted! Thanks in advance!
