Sometimes an Apple retail store can make a special order for you.

The Apple US online store tells you on its website which keyboard options are available.
When you contact a store, make sure you tell them whether you want Brazilian or European Portuguese, as they are not the same.

  • Macbook pro with retina display keyboard Turning off

Hello everyone im having a problem with my Macbook pro it's my first mac so i dont know about it a lot sorry for my bad english and the problem is that after using it for like 2-5 Hours the keyboard turns off so i have to restart macbook so it works again I dont know why it happend but i usally clean it with some water when it get dirty not a lot of water just alittle bit but i dont think it's the problem because after restarting it it works fine

SystemUIServer is a background process that controls some of the user interface. Try opening Activity Monitor, in your Applications>Utilities folder and, in the upper right hand corner, copy and paste SystemUIServer. See how much of your CPU % that it's using. There might be a memory leak with one of the applications that you're running - though I've never seen it with PS CS6 and/or Safari. If it's using even 1% of your CPU, quit the process (it will relaunch).
If you're still running Lion, as your profile says, I would try upgrading to Mountain Lion to see if some - if not all - of your random log-off issues stop. 10.7.4 is not really very stable with the 2012 MBPs and I see a number of processes running that are giving you fits. ML may recitify most of them.
Don't really know what else to tell you - perhaps someone else can come along and comment about some of the other items in your log.

  • I have only loaded phone contacts in my new iPhone 5 and my email contacts only on my Macbook Pro with retina display contacts how can I keep them from changing my iPhone to email contacts only when I connect to iTunes please

Since purchasing a new iPhone 5 and macbook pro with retina display I have decided to keep the iPhone 5 for phone contacts only, and the macbook for email contacts only .. Is there a way for me to keep these as they are recorded on each apple product when I sync with iTunes as it has changed my iPhone and put in email contacts and thus deleted iPhone phone contacts once when I syncd thanks appreciate any help

To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them

i want arabic and engilish keyboard in MacBook Pro with retina display how can i order that ??, i want arabic and engilish keyboard in MacBook Pro with retina display how can i order that ??

If you haven't found an answer yet. I know for a fact that this can be ordered directly from Apple at no extra cost
You can either ask for this when buying a new MBP at a "physical" Apple store, or as in my case in the UK the online Apple store allows such keyboard configuration in addition to 3 other languages like Spanish, German and French

Apple does make these, but they are not sold everywhere.  Where are you located?
Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store, so to find out whether you can buy a particular product you will need to contact stores directly yourself.  In the US you can sometimes get unusual keyboards by talking to an apple retail store and asking for a special order.

  • HOW DO I FIND THE EJECT BUTTON ON MACBOOK PRO WITH RETINA

i have a macbook pro with retina display , and i want to know how i eject the disc from the apple external optical drive i can't see the eject button on the keyboard layout.

Works for me every time without failure.
It's not a matter of failure, it's the idea of training people to associate the Trash with unmounting a volume. The Trash is a mechanism for the permanent deletion of your data, and designed to appear as such. Apple haters used to laugh at this..."Eject by dragging to the Trash? And you say the Mac is intuitive? Ha ha ha..." And they were right. It's better to teach ways that actually make more sense.
The great thing about all the newer ways is that they are easily discoverable, you don't have to remember or figure out that you have to virtually trash your disk. A new user would naturally expect to find an Eject command or button, and there they are in plain sight.

I always find a ton of mounted installers left behind by users who install stuff on their systems.  I don't understand why Apple cannot make an automated process to unmount the installer once it's done.  Just seems stupid to me I guess.  I've seen that mounted installer confuse people into clicking on it each and every time they want to start the app because they don't understand that once it's installed, that installer should be ejected because they're done with it.
I agree about the installer volume behavior...and Apple made it worse in Mountain Lion by putting the volumes on the bottom of the Finder sidebar, which is often out of view. Incidentally, drag-to-trash does not seem to work with volumes in the sidebar, but the other Eject methods do.
The "installer problem" is another reason I love the other methods much more than dragging to the trash. To eject multiple volumes by selecting them and pressing Command-E is much faster than the time taken to gather them up with the mouse and drag all of them to a specific spatial target.

  • Is there a way to digitize audio using the headphone input on the 15-inch (late 2013) Macbook Pro with Retina display?

I'd like to digitize audio from a minidisc player into my 15-inch (late 2013) Macbook Pro with retina display, but can't see a way to change the internal mic input.  I understand that previous MacBooks allowed the headphone jack to double as a mic input, but mine doesn't seem capable of switching.  I've tried using a mini to mini cable, with no luck, and also tried using a headset splitter adapter (3.5 mm 4-pin to 2x3-pin 3.5 mm headset splitter adapter from Amazon) because I read that that would allow me to plug in headphones and input audio.  But in both cases, the only "input" available in my sound preferences is the built-in internal microphone.  Am I missing something?  Is there a way to digitize audio through the headphone jack?

Not likely. headphone jacks are usually output only devices unless specifically stated to support input, and even then, it may not be audio input that they support, but merely control input for volume and such.
You can get a USB audio input instead. i.e:

  • Installing Windows XP on a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro with Retina display and need to install Windows XP on it so that I may run 3 Windows programs.  I have watched a few videos on the internet on how to do this through Boot Camp Assistant, and it says at one point to use the driver CD from Mac to install the drivers.  I did not get any CD's with my new MacBook Pro.  I also saw on some of these boards that said Boot Camp does not support Windows XP.  The people at the Apple store said it can run Windows XP, so I have ordered an original version.
Question 1.  Does my MacBook Pro with Retina Display running OS X version 10.8.3 able to run Windows XP?
Question 2.  How do I install the drivers?

Would this work? And also, what is the VM I need?  Where do I get it?

  • Reason for blurring of text in MacBook Pro with retina display?

I was in an Apple store recently and examined a 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.
I noticed that when I expanded the size of the text (using the touchpad) on the Apple web page on the screen that there was a brief blur in the appearance of the text before the text looked sharp again at the larger size.
I asked an Apple person at the store why this occurred. He claimed that the brief blurring of the text that I saw when I expanded its size was due to my eyes adjusting to the rapid change in text size.
The answer appeared ridiculous to me. I have a 17-inch MacBook Pro about 5 years old as well as an iPad 2 and iPad mini. On none of these machines have I seen the temporary blurring of the text appearance when increasing its size.
Is there an inherent problem with retina displays that causes this problem?
    Thanks for your help

Nah, it was due to the image zoom being processed off the server for the Apple website and the likely clogged connection wifi speeds off the local router in that specific Apple store.
most websites are not designed for retina level viewing either
Ive done zoom in on a Retina here at the house with 30MB down speeds and never had a blurring unless it was coming off a jammed up server from a specific website that was slow.

  • How does Autodesk Maya run on the MacBook Pro with Retina Display?

    Hello there,
I'm interested in using the MacBook Pro with Retina Display for Autdesk Maya and wanted find out what people's experiences with that are. It'd be great if anyone can help share their experiences!
    Thanks!

One thing I do know, is the the UI is very small and menu items/buttons are hard to see. Someone posted a video of a now removed autodesk forum response on how to adjust font sizes .cfg file style, but I tried and it did nothing to the small text in Maya 2014. If you plan on it and don't have button and menu locations memorized by feel, I wouldn't use this software on a macbook pro without an external display, or change the resolution out of retina to use Maya.

  • MacBook Pro with Retina display in game graphics and SMC

I recently bought a MacBook Pro with retina display and started playing STC2 on it. I experienced  great gameplay with maxed out graphics and 30fps, however recently the fps was down and as part of my trobleshooting I reset the SMC and that seemed to correct the issue. However the computer heats up much faster now and the fans seem to labor to keep it cool. When the fps was lower before i reset the SMC the computer did not get nearly as hot. My question is; is this the OS trying to protect the hardware from overheating or just a glitch?

Well unless you want to go through the hassle of waiting for a replacement unit you can try a few things on your own.
Make sure it is plugged in and charging (Orange LED light will indicate it is charging Green means it is fully charged)
Once it is plugged in make sure everything else is unplugged
The only thing plugged in should be the power adapter
On the left hand side of your keyboard press down and hold the Control Shift and Option Keys
While you are holding down those three keys hold down the power button as well
Hold down all 4 of these for 10 seconds
    After 10 seconds let go
    Try turning your mac on
    If this works problem fixed!
If this does not work try calling 1-800-MYAPPLE (You get 90 days of free complimentary phone support on your product)
If you purchased AppleCare you have 3 years of it and you should have this number on hand it can really help you out
I always advise friends and family to purchase applecare if they plan on having their product longer than a year
You will get 3 years of phone support as well as hardware support
That means if you have any questions or anything goes wrong just call Apple
It also means if your computer breaks it is covered! Meaning no out of pocket expenses unless it is water or accidental damage
You may really want to look into purchasing applecare

  • Macbook Pro with Retina Display to HDTV, How?

Hey , okay so i have the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display i got it not too long ago. I'm looking to hook it up to my HDTV, i have a Samsung TV not 3D and i just wanted to know what cables and such i'll need to help me display what's on my Mac to my tv. I want to be able to use Netflix, HBO GO, etc from my computer and display it over the tv. Even thou i already have it on my 360, i just want the option. Thanks anyways.

We have two Samsung tvs...one is a smart tv and the orher is not but they are both LED.  I hook up my ipad to both TV's with an hdmi cable.   Did you try all the hdmi ports available?  Also, did you change the source on your remote control to the proper input?

  • Where can I get a case specifically for my MacBook Pro with Retina Display?

I really want to get a case/sleeve that really fits my MacBook Pro with Retina Display; however, everywhere I look only has cases for the regular 15" MacBook Pro. I want something that has a tight fit on my Retina. Any ideas?

My guess is they wouldn't introduce new production line just for the 1 or two milimeter difference. They will probably just change their marketing material and websites to add Retina as compatible. Then again I'm not a manufacturer.
In reality though, apart from hard-shell cases/sheilds that have to attach directly on the laptop, the cases and sleeves are already compatible.

  • Can I buy a MacBook Pro with a foreign keyboard in the US?

I will be moving to Sweden soon and was wondering whether or not I am able to buy a MacBook Pro with a Swedish keyboard, in the US?  It is a lot cheaper buying one in the US than in Sweden (I would save a few hundread dollars). The computer I am interested in is the 13 inch MacBook Pro with the Retina display.
If I am able to do so, do you know how I would order it? I can not find any options for it online...
    Anyways, thanks alot in advance!

call 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask.  You will most likely have to order it over the phone.

  • MacBook Pro with retina display battery question

I recently bought a 15" macbook pro with retina display, and was wondering if my battery is working as it should.
I usually get about 3:03 hours with brightness at full and keyboard backlight at full with skype (not using it but on),safari with 6 tabs, twitter, and mail.
Oh and im also watching a youtube video on 720p.
    My question is this:
Is the battery life supposed to be like this?
ON mountain lion 10.8.2 and a lot of people are saying i should be at about 5-8 hours.
    Any recommended solutions?
    EDIT
Just after i finished writing this my battery time estimate went up, its now 4-4:50 hours left

When I use my MBP on battery, I turn screen brightness down to about four bars and keyboard backlighting down to a single bar. I usually only have open a handful of Internet apps (Firefox, Outlook, etc.) and spend most of the time simply web-surfing, watching very few videos. And I can get almost 7 hours out of a fully charged battery. When new, I was getting 7+ hours, but with 182 cycles and the fact that the computer is 8 months old now, that's not bad.
Turn everything down as low as you can stomach and you should get a good 6 hours of battery time, if you keep your video to a minimum and use the built-in graphics card (to force this, use gfxCardStatus).
    Good luck,
    Clinton
