Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery -- mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)

Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery --> mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)
So if I hit the powerbutton my mbp booted like it is booting from the save sleep (so very fast and the login screen is there in about 10 sec.and there is no apple logo while booting just the desktop screen in "unsharp" ore foggy however...)
Then when i see the login (if the keyboard backlight turned on) i wand do tipe in my code but it won't work... the trackpad is not working; and when i plug-in a usb mouse the mbp is not powering on the usb-mouse (laser is off)
Why is that this way?
Is there n option to wake up the mbp fromm deep/save sleep without haveing issiues after that?
THX

Sorry for such a long delayed response...
I was able to get to an apple store this past weekend, and let me tell you... I'm about finished with there great "support".
Right before I went to the store, I tried to eject a disk. Well the cloth in the SuperDrive (I assume to protect the drive from dust and such) Pulled up with my disk. So I get the Apple store, describe my problem and what happened with the cloth piece. The "Genius" writes up a form and tells me they have to run diagnostic and it will take a couple days... and I will get a call when its done (1-3 days).
Well on day number 3 I called up the store and they told me it was ready to be picked up? I asked if anything had been fixed and they told me they could not reproduce my "sleep issue", so they couldn't fix that.. but told me the cloth piece in the SuperDrive had been fixed.
I drive an hour (one way) to the Apple store to find that all they did was PULLED OUT the cloth... they did not replace it! So basically I have a hole for a Super Drive.
I asked why I was not called to say that my computer was ready to be picked up... didn't get an answer on that one.
I asked why my SuperDrive was said to be fixed, when nothing was done... they told me that it would have to be sent out to the factory store for that to be fixed (FIRST TIME THEY MENTIONED THAT!) Oh, and that would take 5-7 business days. Well that's not going to happen right now considering I'm a college student that NEEDS a working computer!
So I go home, angry... start just putting all my important documents back on the computer. And the screen starts blinking!!!! I guess now I have the same thing described in another post on these forms...
Lets just say that I'm not very happy with Apple right now! If anybody else has success on either the sleep issue or the screen blinking issue, please let me know!
Thank you!

  • 15" Retina Macbook Pro won't login after 10.8.3 update failure

I just attempted to installing 10.8.3 on my Retina mbp and after failing I could no longer login. When attempting login, the screen would flash white then go back to the login screen.
I was able to get to safe boot by holding the shift key during boot.
From safe boot I was able to download the 10.8.3 combo update. OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 (Combo)http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1640
After reapplying the update and it succeeded and I was able to log back in to normal mode.
    Hope this helps someone!

Word of advice. It is a business. Don't just install changes, not without updating your cloned backup, not on day one (security patches that are critical are important but VERY often even those have a high rate of 'breaking' the china and causing havoc.
High fans etc are rarely PRAM related. Might be SMC.
Install OS X on another drive. Update to 10.8.2. Clone. Put clone on shelf. Rerun the COMBO update - if you are using delta update, they do sometimes fail to take, it use to be combo updates were the only safe update but seems updates are better and safer.
but it is best to have a TEST system if possible to try a new update or program on, even if that is just a disk that you clone, and keep and leave your production system AS IS for a week... or two.
unplug everything. hit power. connect only power and one monitor and kb/mouse.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

MacBook Pro won't boot after trying to install 10.7.3 update. Start up stalls at Apple logo and spinning gear. Computer won't even start in safe mode.

My daughter's MacBook Pro was doing exactly the same thing.  I don't know if it had anything to do with the latest update.  She called me about a week ago saying that her MacBook began running slower by the day .  She then called me Friday and told me that it wouldn't get past the gray screen and the gear just kept on spinning.  I did everything I could over the phone including Safe mode which it wouldn't go into and thought maybe it was the hard drive.  She took it to the Apple store.  Originally, they also thought it was the hard drive.  It ended up being a corrupted operating system (Lion).  Apple genius simply re-installed Lion and she's back up and running.  Good thing she backed up right before it crapped out.  She'll be restoring everything tonight.  Don't know if re-installing Lion will help your situation, but it did the trick for my daughter.

  • MacBook Pro won't start after I completed my first backup using TimeMachine

    Hello,
My MacBook Pro won't restart after I did my first TimeMachine backup.  I tried in SafeMode but no luck.  My MacBook Pro is a 2009 early version running Snow Leopard.  Please help.
    Thanks,

I have managed to get into my computer through the OS X install disk but now my wi fi hardware is gone. Ie no airport.
When I try to re install the airport extreme wi fi base station software  it tells me it can't be installed as this version of Mac OS X (Lion) on is volume is not supported.
Not even an Ethernet cable gets me on line. In system preferences when I do a network diagnostic all I get is the spinning disk. Again, any ideas how to get around this?
    Thanks

  • My macbook pro won't display on a tv with hdmi cable

My macbook pro won't display onto a tv with an hdmi cable.  But it isn't the cable or the tv because it worked with my girlfriends macbook pro.  When I tried it on her tv it came up with the display but it was sketchy.  On my tv it won't show up.  Is it a setting or could the display port be messed up?

I had same problem with mac air.  After yosemite upgrade the firewall was on, turned it off and mac started to airplay to AppleTV again.

  • Macbook Pro won't startup after Update

I guess everyone has been having problems around here. But I really have no clue what to do. I did not even know there was un update until I restarted. After I did it now my macbook pro won't start up. It makes that chime noise at the beginning and then it shows the apple and the spinning thing below it and I left it for 2 hours and came back and nothing had changed.
It my computer broken? Did I do something wrong? Have I lost all my stuff? Please help!

Yeah, I have had the exact same problem. it happen last friday. Also, i'm not sure if this is related or not but right before the update the computer for no reason in the middle of doing stuff it would tell me to force shut down by holding down the power button. not sure what to do. If i ship it out it will be about a 2 weeks before i get it back and if I take it in, they can't put it on the bench for about 5 days. its very frustrating and apple needs to figure something out for service.

  • MacBook Pro Won't Boot after Firmware Update

So I just upgraded to a MacBook Pro which came in the mail yesterday. I removed the Apple-installed HD and swapped it out for a bigger, faster HD. I installed OS X from scratch, imported everything from my Time Machine backup during the Setup Assistant, and then started installing updates. Everything was running swimmingly until the last updates.
What happened is when I rebooted my MacBook Pro and logged in after a series of updates, I got presented with both a Bluetooth update and a Firmware update at the same time. Both required a restart so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. I installed the Bluetooth update, and then when it asked to reset I installed the Firmware update instead. However, the firmware update didn't behave as advertised because instead of shutting the MacBook Pro completely down, it restarted and then started installing the firmware update.
Ever since the firmware update (which I think installed correctly but don't know how to verify), I cannot boot my MacBook Pro. Using the OS X install DVD I can view my firmware version using System Profiler, and the number it is reporting is MBP53.00A.B03.
I have tried booting in verbose mode to try and get a feel for the problem, and it eventually hangs on an infinite loop saying something about not being able to find something on disk0s2.
I also thought I would fix the problem by doing an Archive and Install, but it quit at the very beginning of installing with the error "unknown error".
Also I thought I would format the disk with Disk Utility and then try installing again, but Disk Utility reports that it in unable to unmount the volume.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    -- Update --
Remember how I'm unable to unmount the drive? I force unmounted it and then used Disk Utility to repair the volume, but still no luck.
I think the key to the problem is this new HD I put in runs at 3 Gbps. I think I read somewhere that the new MacBook Pro's don't support that.
I think next I should try swapping out the new HD in my MacBook Pro with the one it originally came with. What do you think?

I, too, have a brand new MBP 15" that I put an Intel X25 in. At the 1.5 (Prior to Firmware Update) setting, it worked fine. I rant the Firmware Update, all looked fine, but the drive is no longer able to be seen.
Flash the PRAM, per other suggestions to no avail. Boot off of the DVD and disk utility nor Profiler sees the drive.
Replace the drive with the stock that came with the MBP (which I had never even used) and it works.
Put the Intel X25 into a Windows machine and it works fine. Reformatted it (in windows) and put it back into my MBP. Still not able to see it (from the Disk utility after booting off the DVD).
Intel's firmware for the drive says its up-to-date (new drive) and if I attempt to "re-run" the Mac Firmware Update, it says that the machine is already up-to-date.
Seems odd that it worked before an now it doesn't. Also seems odd that the X25 works in other machines. And that my MBP works just fine with the stock Hitachi 7200 320GB drive.
Ideas? Intel says to call Apple Support. Not sure what I can say to them.

  • MacBook Pro won't start after changing RAM cards; just beeps.

MacBook Pro will not start after changing RAM cards.  It just beeps; then I force it to quit.

The three things that come to mind immediately are that the RAM card isn't seated properly (you should hear or feel a click when it is seated), the RAM is bad or marginal for that Mac model, or you didn't get the correct RAM type.

Help program "check acces rigths". Didn't work either.

  • MacBook Pro won't run after sleep

After closing the lid it goest to sleep. But when I come back to turn it on I find that the light indicator is on and solid. And when I open the lid nothing will work, screen, keyboard light, volume, even the power button. The only solution I found for this is to hold the power button for about 5 sec then it will be force shutdown then turning the laptop again.
Does anybody know the solution for this?!

I am having the same problem.  MacBook Pro will not enter sleep mode (white LED does not pulse but remains steady) and will not "wake up".  I end up restarting with the power button.  I have verified and repaired hard drive with disc utility.  I have also searched for firmware updates; only one available that may be an answer (MacBook Pro EFIU Update version 1.9) is not comaptible with my computer.  would appreciate any other ideas anyone may have to solve this problem.

  • MacBook Pro Won't wake after going to sleep.

I have been having this issue for quite sometime now. My 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2008) will go to sleep and then not respond when trying to wake. This only happens when my computer goes to sleep with the display open (usually when watching DVD's or writing papers). The indicator light stays bright and the only way to get it responding again is to shut the whole thing down by holding the power button I have searched the forms and can't find anything that has worked... I have cleared the PRAM and reset the SMC as it said to do on other posts on these forms, but nothing has worked. I have run all OS X updates and firmware updates. I'm running on 10.6.2.
I have heard it could be the Bluetooth or an external drive attached... neither of them are on my mac.
Should I take it into the apple store? Or has someone figured this out?
    Thanks!
