Macbook pro wont connect to wifi after password change?

Hello all!
So my cable company reset my internet and for some reason added a password. I called them and found out that password and was able to connect with my iphone and ipad no prob. Last time I changed the passcode myself I couldnt get my macbook to connect no matter what even through trouble shooting etc.. So basically I went on my other windows  laptop  at that time and turned the password off well now that they put a password back on and I dont have that old windows laptop anymore im stuck. (Plus I really shouldnt be forced to unsecure my network just because my macs a brat) I cannot log into my router from my iphone nor ipad it simply says server cannot be found when I type in routerlogin.net/ other methods, though all other websites  seem to work. On mymacbook I tried to make it forget the old wifi network network by launchpad-system preferences-network- advanced and when I try to log in an ! Shows over the wifi bars(  note it never asks me for a passcode when I click the wifi network from the main desktop wifi Icon . ) I've clicked the no internet connection alert and went through the whole network diagnostics it takes forever and says a network change has been detected and I can finally put a passcode in.  Once I do it says that the computer was unable to join because I entered an incorrect password or network name,  chosen the wrong security type or am out of base range. All not true. Ive tried everything including creating a new user account etc . Any input would really be appreciated i'm really not that tech savy on apple products . Ive read similar forum posts but none that mimic mine completely.
(P.S. Please ignore my grammar-typing on an ipad is not fun)

Special characters other than letters and numbers in your password can cause issues connecting as well.
Hope that helps,

  • Please help! My iphone 3g wont connect to wifi after password change.

    Hello Guru's,
I have the iPhone 3g and just love it. I am able to connect yo my wifi connection at home. However, recently, I had changed my wifi security password. After that, My iphone 3g does not connect. It used to automatically connect. I selected the "Forget this network" option, then reset the phone and started it again. But, it detects my wifi, asks me to enter password which i do(the new one) , it shows checked meaning connected. But nothing works, safari, apps store, just says not connected, please check your network. MY laptop works fine. IS there something I need to do! It works fine in other wifi spots.
    Please help!
    thanks

My macbook pro is connected to wifi but it will not connect to the internet. When I go on safari, it says that "Safari can't verify the identity of the website". Then I tried to update flashplayer but you need the internet to update it. All this only started happening after that Moutain Lion software was downloaded onto the laptop. Please help, I have been internet-less for a couple months now.

  • New Retina MacBook Pro does not find WiFi after booting

My Retina MacBook Pro keeps looking for WiFis after it has booted, but does not find any.
I have to explicitly turn WiFi off and on again after booting to get it working.
When I put the MacBook to sleep and wake it, the problem does not occur.
Any hints what could be the problem?

Not sure if this will help, but you can go into System Preferences > Network and, if you haven't already, create a new location (mine is called "home"), then from this location remove all connection methods from the left column except Wi-Fi. Also, click on "Advanced" and remove anything from the Preferred Networks list that you aren't using. Then click on "OK" and "Apply".

  • My MacBook Pro will connect to WiFi but will not work in one location but will at others. I have the same issue with my IPhone 4S at the same location.

My MacBook Pro will connect to Wifi at one location (this is a secure location) but will not allow access to the internet.  I will put in the password but will not display page.  Other wifi capable devises do not have this issue but my Mac and my Iphone 4S will not work.  I have tried restarting the router.  All other wifi locations I have been to have not had this issue.  Any suggestions? I am realtively new to Apple products (less than a year) so any advise is greatly appreciated.

The other devices that are working got on with the same password.  It says it is connected.  Just nothing works on the internet.

  • New Macbook Pro Wont Connect to Internet

I just got a Macbook Pro today and it wont connect to the my wireless connection. The only thing I can think of is when I was in the start up it ask what I connected to the internet with and because I was not within my own network I press "This computer does not connect to the internet" option. How do I change this?

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G and ran into these exact symptoms today. After downloading all available updates, dwiddling with a bunch of stuff I didn't really understand (but that's never stopped a hacker like me), getting frustrated in trying to figure out how to either make a reservation with a local Mac Store Genius or talk to a real person at Apple Support I tried unplugging my wireless router and resetting it. My computer came up and is now working fine... go figure.
I've got to admit that I was ready to panic after looking at the discussion board. I'm an old PC person and now consider myself a "convert" to Macs. Glad it didn't let me down.

  • Macbook Pro can't find Wifi after closing

I moved house and got a new wifi provider. My Macbook Pro can't find it sometimes after I close my Macbook which forces me to restart for it to join the network automatically. SOMETIMES I get a popup window with networks that it picks up and SOMETIMES my network is listed and I can select that, but not all the time. Why cant my Macbook find my network sometimes? It can find everybody elses except mine!

  • My MacBook Pro cannot connect to WiFi

         Hi guys.
I have a MacBook Pro 15" which I got about two years ago. I'm using OS Lion 10.7. I didn't had any problems for two years but about a month ago our wifi had a little damage. So we bought another one, the same model. First none of the devices were connected but then our iPads and iPhones did. Then my sisters macbook pro which is the same of mine, got connected. But everytime I try to connect it says "Alert: no internet connection". My Macbook can find the wifi, but it cant connect it. When I open network preferences, It says "Wifi does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the Internet." But my sisters macbook with all same settings with mine can find the IP address! I really need help, Im a student and my homeworks are on websites so I should connect to internet. Hoping for answers .
P.S ( English is not my native language, so sorry for mistakes )

  • MacBook Pro loses connection to Internet after sleep using Airport Time Capsule

I recently upgraded to Mavricks and then added a new Airport Time Capsule, and now I my MBP will not connect to the wireless LAN after waking up from sleep mode.  My MBP worked great for over a year with an non-Apple router, so I am thinking that there is a new Apple computer-to-Apple Router issue going on. Any thoughts, suggestions?
I read all the threads and have followed all the simple advice, such as making sure the Airport is at the top of the network priority list, etc, to no avail.  I end up having to reboot my MBP to get reconnected, which is super frustrating.
