Macbook random Rainbow Beachball at times and Flash random crashes?
My Macbook May 2009 13" will sometimes run a rainbow beachball randomly which is obnoxious, and it also crashes in flash chatrooms and youtube pages sometimes. Not crash as in crash the browser but an error pops up and asks me to either continue or dismiss it. Any solutions or is this Normal with the Mac operating system?
You do not have enough ram. While Apple states that 2gb is the minimum in reality 2gb will barely support just the OS, anything else you try to do will get you a beach ball. Your MacBook will run up to 6gb of ram, I suggest you upgrade. I have the same early 2009 MacBook with 4gb of ram and have chosen to stick with Snow Leopard to avoid any slow downs. I've also replaced my hard drive with a SSD and it really flies.

I got a MacBook Pro for the first time and just install iTunes.... how to I get my purchased songs from my Windows 7 to my new MacBook Pro..... please try to make it easier for me since im new to the Mac OS
1) Copy all music files to a thumb drive / external hard drive.
2) Open iTunes on your MacBook Pro (congrats!)
3) Under the File Menu, select "Add to Library." Navigate to the folder with your music in it and click "Open." Bam! Music. -
Hi I. Was take random picture in face time and I want to delete it how can I delete a picture from face time ?
In addition to johngrussel's suggestion the delete key by itself will run the Remove from Album comand.
Note that's the delete key with no modifier.Command-delete will delete the version from the project. -
Buying a Macbook pro for the first time and i need your opinion
Hello everyone! I'm buying a Macbook pro for the first time and i need your opinion. I'm a Web Developer / Graphic Designer, and i need this macbook for my work. Currently i have these 2 options:
1) Macbook Pro with Retina (13")
128GB SSD, 2.5GHz Intel i5 Processor, 8GB Ram
2) Macbook Pro i7 (15")
Intel i7 2.6 Processor, 8GB Ram, 750GB HD
So my dilema is. Do i go for the newest 13" Macbook Pro Retina & SSD drive or do i go for the 15" Macbook Pro i7 non-Retina, non-SSD hard drive?

Your 2nd choice
2) Macbook Pro i7 (15")
Intel i7 2.6 Processor, 8GB Ram, 750GB HD
is user upgradable. The Retina is not.
No matter what for your needs I would max out the 16GB of RAM -
I turned on my Macbook pro for the first time and the mouse is frozen
I turned on my Macbook pro for the first time and the mouse is frozen since the first screen. I did the start up, but using the comands on the keyboard. I think the laptop is configured to blind people. I just got at the desktop, but the mouse is frozen.
If this is a new machine, you have 14 days to return the machine for an exchange or a full refund. Your trackpad should work out of the box and what you're seeing onscreen may very well be settings for the partially sighted.

Random music starts by itself and at random times.
For the last week or so my 5s randomly starts the Music app and plays a random music from my library. It's very annoying and has been a little embarassing in business meetings when a Greatful Dead starts playing in my pocket. Stopping the music app and killing it from the background will quite the device for a short period but will start up again by itself. Restarting while holding the Home button will stop it from doing this for a few days but eventually it will start doing it again. Seems to happen when the battery use gets down to around 60%. I don't know if this is coincidental or if it might be related.
Anyone else having this problem? Should I suspect a hardware problem and return it for replacement?
I've also had a few hard freezes, with either a totally black screen or frozen at the lock screen. Again, re-starting while holding down the Home button will resume normal operation for a while.
I don't have any unusual apps, and the ones I do have were obtained from the App store and were working great on my iPhone 5.
Has my 5s been possessed? Does it need an exorcism?Same problem, but have not been able to connect it to the battery use. Mine seems to play which ever music source I last used, i.e. Pandora, TuneIn, or my MP3s, and it seems to start after a text message or email alert plays.

My Macbook Pro is running really slow and programs keep crashing
I have a 15" MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 Model) that is doing my head in, as it runs really slow most of the times as soon as I open more than one program (especially if I use Excel or Word of course). I ran the EtreCheck and the result is below, hopefully this will help some of you guide me in the right direction?
Most of my memory (over 200GB) is used up by "OTHER", any idea what that could be and how I could easily free up space?
Thanks a lot

Apr 14, 2015, 07:13:57 PM /Users/[redacted]/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/Last.fm Scrobbler_2015-04-14-191357_[redacted].crashLaunch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
When you post the log extract or the crash report, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created. -
How to produce the digital random generator, which counts 0 and 1 randomly
hi , i want to generate the digital random generator for my project, which counts the 0 and 1 randomly. can anybody help me in doing this.
Your question has been phrased in a way to cause confusion to what you actually want to achieve. Are you trying to display the random generator like a bit stream on a graph ie:
If so then this vi will do that:
Every time you press the 'Generate' Button it will create a digital array according to the 10 bit random number generated and display on a graph.
There is a way of doing this using a 'Digital waveform graph', i personally have never used it and after about 5 minutes of just looking into it for you gave up It is something i should spend the time to look into as it presents your digital data nicely, showing the 0's and 1's within the graph.
If i have misunderstood what you want again i apologise
Rgs,

Before update, I have just downloaded a trial version of Star Craft II for playing. It was playing well until somehow my iMac lost its network connection from my home wifi router. Because StarCraft seems to need network connection, then the whole SC hang forever and I can't close it. So I am forced to power off the iMac and restart. After restart it is playable again. Then I turn off computer, after a while then I turn on, and proceed the software upgrade of my iMac. After reboot, it is crashing. Chrome, Flash, Star Craft,...I dont know what else is crashing. Safari and Firefox seem working.
Thanks for helpingThank you very much. But the new account still encountering the crash. And not only Chrome, apps like iPhoto also crashed:

Installed Firefox 3.6.8 for the first time and it keeps crashing
I just installed Firefox for the first time and when it is finished installing I tell it to start. It tries and as soon as it does I get a crash report. Every time I click Restrt Firefox it comes up with the same crash error, which is the following:

This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.
I am running this on a Duo Core processor, Intel, Laptop, Windows 7 with 4-gigs of ram. I have never had a problem with other programs crashing like this before.
Any ideas? I have never used Firefox and after 20 years have decided to try something new.
Thanks for any help. You mean out of this whole community no one knows how to fix this ... I wanted to give Firefox a try, but honestly, I am starting to see why I have not switched from IE, it is stable and I get answers when I post to the Microsoft boards as well as the answer to everything I have ever had an issue with is out there ... what is worse is that I am not the only one with this problem and no one can still help because I am sure us five are not the only ones that have run into this.

Macbook pro 17 inch primo 2011 and thunderbolt display crashes
I have a Macbook pro 17 inch primo 2011 and thunderbolt display which has recently started to crash.
Only modifications I have doen lately is I swapped the CD/DVD drive for a harddrive and put in 16 GB of ram
but it has been running for more than a month with these hardware additions without problems.
Today my Macbook has started to crash frequently within 10 min to 1 hour after plugging in my thunderbolt display.
I tried to check CPU heat, change RAM but it keps crashing.
When it crashes it either gives me a blue screen, a black screen or a distorts everythings and freeze up.
When rebooting I have to press Command-Option-P-R to clear NVRAM / PRAM.
I found a few support threads from people having similar problems so I started to disconnect the thunderbolt display
and without plugging it in my laptop works fine.
I have done a SMC reset also but that has not resolved my issue.
Below is the crash report and if anybody has any suggestions what to do to resolve this please let me know
My thunderbolt display was purchased in late 2011
If this is not solveable what options do I have ?
Thanks !

FireWire Device: My Book 111D, WD, 800mbit_speedThe other day I got the blue screen, the fan going on high, and then when I disconnect my thunderbolt connection from my macbook pro - i get a shutdown.
Today I got flickering followed by the fan on high and then again I disconneced my thunderbolt cable and after a minute or two a shudown.
This never happened before. Actually I was suprised to hear about a firmware update for flickering since that's never happened to me but since updating I now get the flicker.
Any ideas?? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my work labtop. -
Time and date preferences crashing
Hi. Every time I click on the clock on the menu bar and go down the menu and click on "Open Time and Date...", it never works. It always stalls System Prefences, although it will occasionally open after not responding for a minute or two. This has only started happening recently, although I can't pinpoint any event that might be causing it.

Usually a preference pane problem can be fixed by trashing
com.apple.preferencepanes.cache in Home > Library > Caches folderIf this alone doesn't fix things after a logout/login, then trash it again (because it will have regenerated another bad file), together with
com.apple.systempreferences.plist in Home > Library > Preferences folder,
and in the Home > Library > Preferences > ByHost folder, the two files: com.apple.systempreferences.xxxxxx.plist and com.apple.PrefPane.Network.xxxxxx.plist, where xxxxxx = a hexadecimal numeric string.Post back to say if this works. -
This has been driving me mad for days now. I updated to the latest version of Firefox, but every single time I go to any webpage on Tumblr, (my dashboard, my personal blog, anyone else's blog) I am bombarded by error messages saying "too much recursion." I usually get anywhere from 3 to 5 messages per page. I reverted to Firefox 34 and can now access Tumblr just fine, but then I am faced with a different problem. When watching videos or vines on Tumblr, they can spontaneously lag, jitter, or stop playing. If I try to resume playing them, then they might start playing but all audio will be cut out. This seems to cause some kind of problem with Flash Player, because after it happens on Tumblr, then it will happen on ANY video playing site I visit. If I try to watch a video on Youtube, the video will spasm for a couple seconds and then go to static and say "An error has occurred, please try again later." I've tested it out on other video sites like Blip, and they also cause audio and video bugs. Even if I close Firefox and restart it, the issue will not be solved. The only way I have found to fixing the crashes is to manually reinstall Flash Player (which requires me to reset Firefox anyway). This has been a tremendous annoyance, as I have had to reinstall Flash Player and reset Firefox about five times on any given day for the past week or so. This is driving me to consider dumping Firefox for Chrome, and I don't want to do that.
Okay, I updated my graphics card drivers just for good measure. I also started Firefox in Safe Mode, and there weren't any bugs. So I isolated the problem by turning on my extensions one by one, and it turns out that something with my XKit extension was the cause. I manually removed XKit and reinstalled it directly from the XKit website. Now everything's working fine again when I use Firefox 35. Thank you!

Well this is the report, wish you can help me and tell me what I need to do, its quite difficult to find a support in Argentina for Mac!You have the MacBookPro6,2, the Edsel of Macs. You might be able to resolve the problem by reinstalling OS X. Try that first, if you haven't done so already. Otherwise, you may be covered by this program:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers may not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue.
Print the first page of the panic report, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane, but that's not a solution.
