Macbook Retina, Loud Idle Fans, Fans start from downloading files

hello
i have a early 2013 retina 15" macbook pro
is it normal that the fans kick in from browsing in youtube? or when i download 2 big files at the same time.. like 500 MB for example
i think it cant be normal for a computer like this to have spinning fans when usage is so low
also my left fan makes a strange noise sometimes, on the right side you only can hear the spinning air from the fan, but not the fan itself,
on the left side you cleary hear a noise while the macbook is in idle, its not extreme loud, but you can cleary hear the fan fro distance when in idle
is this normal?
i trid everything, smc reset, completly reinstalled 10.8.3 but its still the same
the next apple store is over 1 hour away with my car
so i hope to find some helpful answers here first please
Should you hear the fans from a normal working distance when your maschine is in idle with alost no usage
browsing, downloading files etc..

Your computer uses Flash to watch YouTube, and it may make your Mac work harder because it consumes a lot of CPU and memory, so it may be normal. However, it's not normal that fans turn on when you are downloading two files.
I recommend you to run Apple Hardware Test in order to check if there's something wrong with your computer. To do this, connect the computer to the charger, and hold Option (Alt) and D keys while your Mac is starting to start into Apple Hardware Test. Choose the language, mark the option to run an extended test and start the test. When it finishes, if it shows an error, copy it here and get ready to take the computer to an Apple Store. If not, there's a process which is consuming a lot in the computer

Time Machine has to erase the external disk in order to make backups. Before setting Time Machine up, copy the files of your external disk to the hard disk of the Mac in order not to lose them, and then, set up Time Machine. The first backup will start automatically.

strange, isn't it ?

I want to have openbox in the job list of a bash. as if my xinitrc was "exec xterm" and I manualy enter the "openbox &" commande in the xterm window. I suppose this is a common wish : telling bash to read from file then from keyboard, but that not exactly what bashrc do.

ps have PGID equal to the bash TPGID, so it is foreground. openbox from PROMPT_COMMAND have his own PGID, so it is background. openbox from bashrc share PGID wish bash ... so if bash do not consume Ctrl-c signal openbox receive it ? I assume it is some things like this, but why ? INVOCATION and JOB CONTROL sections in bash manpage do not seems describe this, so that's a strange behaviour.

Hey ErikSimon, I kept troubleshooting my problem last night and when I loaded my samples an alternate way, actually the longer way, it worked. I think I have gremlins in the system or something, but I got it working again. I was having the issue when I tried loading the samples via these instructions that were mentioned in SFLogicninja's Youtube video @ 3:07

How can I recover a book I started from a file?

I have recently installed the iPhoto 9.2.1 from App Store.
I am having many problems with iPhoto after an electrical cut when I was working with it.
First, when I opened iPhoto immediately after that, many of the events appeared in black box, when I open a file of these, black boxes appears, photos could not being seeing, but click in one, the photo appears.
I realized that those files I did not working with them for long.
I am interested to recover them, How could I do it?
I copy iPhoto Library into a external hard disc to safe and start from the beginning. I need to work in one book.
Second,The photos for that book were in the external hard disc. I imported them into iPhoto and start working. I thought that everything was solved out.
This morning when I opened the computer and iPhoto, My work, begun the previous day, was not there, iPhoto ask me if I want to recover iPhoto Library and thinking that that was my last work, I said yes.
But it was not, It was the old library, but the work that interests me has disappeared.
How can I recover this work I started? It must be in some place.

If nothing else, all of the people who search Google for the phrase "translation downsave CS5 CS4 book" will learn that the best answer is "tell your translation supplier that they will lose your business if they fail to upgrade."
But in your case - no, I know of no such script to re-save a CS4 book from IDMLs spat out of CS5. The scripting forum is thataway; maybe they know of a script someone else has already written for this purpose. Mostly because, especically in a book file, one of the steps before saving the INDDs and book in CS4 should be "a human compares the IDML opened in CS4 against the INDDs in CS5, or PDFs generated from same, before Saving As CS4 INDD."

Reinstall of cs2 from downloaded files

reinstall of cs2 from download worked but illustrator wont launch, other programs working fine

I have a similar problem. I reinstalled CS2 but for the time being just chose to install Illustrator from the package. That was successful up until the point that I tried to launch or open the program. I get the following pop-up box every time:

WSUS replica: Imported updates and metadata but now starts to download files

Hi,
I want to setup a new wsus replica server.
I installed the WSUS service , then imported the updates and then an imported the metadata.
A soon as I pressed synchronize , it started to pull lots of updates (18GB) and more coming up.
Why is this? Why does it start to download as I already imported all updates ....
How can I fix this?

Based on the dozens, if not hundreds, of scenarios displaying this exact same symptom, my guess would be that you restored the ~\WSUSContent folder, thus overwriting the existing (empty) ~\WSUSContent folder, and as a result, modified the ACLs of that folder.
The ACL modification results in the removal of the *LOCAL* WSUS Administrators group and replaces it with the SID of the
WSUS Administrators group of the source server (which cannot be translated on the local server).
As a result, the WSUSService loses its right to read from the folder tree, and that translates to "no files exist, we need to download them".
You can fix the ACL by adding the WSUS Administrators group back, deleting the orphaned SID reference to the source server, and then clearing the BITS Download Queue.
After cleaning up the filestore issue, rerun the WSUSUTIL IMPORT.

Will not download from download file.

After downloading to download file the file will not open or open folder.

Please explain the situation! What steps where performed? Did you encounter any error messages? How about trying a clean reinstall?
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.

Sharing Icon appears from downloading files only with firefox

After the update today now when ever I download a file with firefox it has a sharing icon on it.
Tried to reset to default twice,didnt work,tried to disable all add ons didnt work.
Only happens with firefox and not other browsers I have.
I have to manually right click each download and click the share and set to stop sharing.

This is a shot in the dark: Firefox marks downloaded files as having come from the internet. This is integrated into Firefox's feature of submitting each download to your antivirus software for scanning. (With real-time antivirus protection, this scan is redundant.) You could disable that and see whether it makes any difference.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful. This is Firefox's about:config preferences editor.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''scan''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone''' to switch it from true to false.
Then go back to another tab and try a new download. Any change?

My Macbook Retina doesn't log back in from sleep after typing in the password, have to force shut down

Recently i've been having this problem once in a while (once every few days) that when I opened up my computer from sleep, I typed in my password and clicked enter. After that, it shows that normal grey box thing; normally it logs in after a few seconds, but sometimes i wait for 2 minutes and still it doesn't log in. I sleep it and wake it again, but this time i type the password and i click enter, but nothing happens, i can't click switch user either. At this point my only choice is to force shut down my macbook. This problem is a bit annoying since sometimes i have unsaved work.

Press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly to restart.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Macbook Pro 13" just won't start from original dvd

My MacBook 13", mid 2011, started to slow down, freeze. Tried to start up in safe mode, after that it just won't boot at all. Tried with the original DVD holding down "C" but no disk boot. What to do?

MacBook does not respond when I try to download files off the internet

I have a MacBook OS X 10.5 Leopard and recently I have been trying to download and open things from the internet and they won't download. For example, I tried to download Safari (I have FireFox) and the box that says save file as... came up so I hit okay and usually the application opens but it didn't. This has happened several times over the past week and I do not know how to fix it.
