Macbook Santarosa kernel panic when ends battery charge

I have a serious problem with my Santarosa Macbook (less than one month old).
When I am in battery mode, and the MB ends out the autonomy, it does not go in standby safesleep mode. It simply goes (badly) "off", just like if I would take the battery outside the battery bay.
I have tried to recalibrate the battery, following more the one time the apple's tutorials. No results.
I have also reseted the SMC and the PRAM: the only result is that now, when I arrive at the end of the battery level, the MB does not anymore go "Badly off", it goes in Kernel Panic.
What can I do?
Could it be a software related problem? Or (sigh) is something Hardware related?
Thankyou!
Here follows my last Kernel Panic:

    Best Regards,

The MacBook Pro charging circuit will charge the battery until it reaches 100% charge and then switch to power mode for the MBP.  When the battery drops to 93-95% charge the circuit will switch back to charging mode to top off the battery charge again.  You will not harm the battery or MBP by leaving it plugged in most of the time.
There are many good headphone/microphone combinations on the market, best really is more a function of how much money you want to spend.  Check those offered in the Apple on-line store for features/price to see what would best fit your needs.  You can also look at audio equipment suppliers, all the earphones need is a standard 3.5 mm plug.

  • 15" MacBook Pro kernel panics, Safari crashes. EtreCheck inside

    Hello.
Regular kernel panics when using Safari, Safari web content crashes incredibly regularly. I've looked at the crash logs etc and a couple of kexts keep popping up for PACE Support and Waves audio plugins. If anyone could help, that would be nice.
    Here's my EtreCheck:

  • Kernel panic when I try startx: edited again

I just reinstalled arch (slight mishap yesterday  ) I'm running testing, have installed xorg, kde, ati stuff, etc. When I try to startx I get a "kernel panic not syncing". Has something to do with xorg configeration.
    Any ideas :?:
If I just run xorgconfig no panic when I then run aticonfig etc panic.
For the moment I've given up on fglrx and am just trying radeon. the message I get says the system can't find the radeon driver    :?:

If you're getting a kernel panic when trying to install, then I'd start with RAM and the installation disks.
RAM: Panther has higher standards for RAM than does 10.2.x; if you have more than one RAM module, take one out (assuming that leaves you with at least 128 MB) and try again. If it panics again, try switching the RAM. As far a brand names go, I prefere Kingston or Azen RAM.
Installation Disks: if they're grey, they won't work. Grey installation disks are packaged with specific Macs, and only contain hardware drivers for that specific Mac. You need the retail version of the disks, which were sold in a black box. There are four CDs in the set, three of which are for installing the OS (the fourth contains Developer Tools). The three OS disks are black with a large silver X in the middle.
    Good luck!

  • MBP Kernel Panic when connecting to HDTV (DVI)

I have a 15" MacBook Pro that has been working perfectly since I got it. I tried today to connect it to my Hitachi 51" HDTV (via DVI) and got an instant Kernel Panic. I used my 15" Powerbook with this HDTV without any issues.
I've searched and found folks with kernel panics when waking their MBP if the RAM is faulty, but nothing at all about issues when connecting an external display. I am running with all the latest updates, firmware update, etc.
I don't have any problems connecting to a 23" Cinema display or to a 19" Samsung LCD, but I tried several times to connect to the HDTV and got a kernel panic each time. I changed resolutions on one try and still got the same issue (720x480 so the TV would see it as 480p). I even tried booting up with the display already connected and it kernel panic'd when it tried to switch into the full OS X GUI.
The specific error is in the panic.log is:

What happens if you boot from the DVD that came with the MBP instead of booting from your hard drive? It could have something to do with your configuration.

  • MacBook Pro kernel panic on wake from sleep

I need some advice. Over the past few days, my MacBook Pro has been experiencing kernel panics when I open the screen and it wakes from sleep. The panic is immediate; there is no lag or time between opening the computer and the initiation of the event. It appears to be intermittent however and I wanted to get some input on this before I start troubleshooting it. Perhaps I may need to have Apple take a look at the unit but I would like to solve the issue (if possible) myself.
One thing I did notice is that the kernel panics started only after I recently updated Mac OS X with the most recent Security Update 2006-003, Quicktime 7.1 and Front Row 1.2.2. Not sure if this is related however, it is interesting that the panics started almost immediately following the software update.
    Here is the panic log:

One other thing I noticed that could or could not be the problem but is sure curious is the option in the Energy Saver control pane for automaticly dimming the screen before sleep. I first noticed when I got my MacBook Pro that this option was enabled without it be marked as on. I checkmarked it then unchecked it again and the screen did not appear to dim before sleep anymore. However, since the last kernel panic on Monday, I have reenabled the option thinking it could possibly be this. It's kind of far fetched I know, but my system has been stable for past 2 days so perhaps this software flaw in the Energy Saver is the blame. Sort of makes sense since this timmer for dimming is activated before sleep of the display which might corrispond with some part of the sleep/wake system of the computer and/or Mac OS X. Later, I am going to try turning the dimmer off and cycling the computer from sleep to wake and see if I get a panic. I'll keep everyone posted as to my results.

  • Duel System Adapter + MacBook Pro = Kernel Panic?

I was on set for a P2 shoot as the "P2 Dumper" a few days ago. Cards where all ranges of sizes (4GB to 32GB) offloaded to my MacBook Pro via a Duel Systems Adapter. The MBP was purchased brand new on Sunday (2.5 Ghz 15"; so 10.5.2 & QT 7.4.1 were pre-installed). I installed the Panasonic P2 Mac utilities (P2PCCard Install, P2 Formatter, etc) as well as P2CMS after I installed FCS 2 and updated to FCP 6.0.2.
Now, I'd read that the Duel System Adapter usually required a system restart before you could typically read the card. What I didn't expect was the kernel panic I kept experiencing whenever I inserted a P2 card into the adapter after a period of inactivity.
What I mean to say is, when offloading one card after another (usually in the span of 20 minutes), I never got a kernel panic. But when I had to start the process from scratch - meaning I hadn't offloaded a card in 30+ minutes - inserting a card would guarantee a kernel panic.
This is with the adapter continually plugged in. Was that my mistake? Is it required to eject the adaptor when done with a series of cards, then reinsert it (and restart) when beginning the offloading process again?
I'm guessing this is just me overlooking an understood aspect of the workflow, rather than me bumping into some brand new issue...

    Hey Hanumang,
I too am having kernel panics using the latest (Penryn, Feb refresh) Macbook Pro and a duel system adapter. My kernel panics have been occuring during ingest/export when using P2CMS. Here is my set up:
    Penryn MBP
    OSX 10.5.2
    Quicktime 7.4.5
    FCP 5.1.4
    P2CMS 1.1.9 (latest)
I have all the necessary drivers (no additional drivers are needed with Leopard and the Duel Adapter).
My kernel panics are happening when I am ingesting/exporting using P2CMS after about 1gb of transfer. Here is my exact workflow:
Shoot 720/24pn on an HVX to an 8gb card.
    Write protect 8gb card.
While off, insert Duel Adapter to MBP.
Boot MBP and insert P2 card into Duel Adapter, P2 card mounts fine.
    Launch P2CMS
Select P2 card as the source
Select all clips -> right click -> export to MBP hard drive.
After about 1gb of transfer, I get a kernel panic, 5 times out of 5.
Notes: No issues with the Duel Adapter when using a drag and drop method. No issues using above workflow using P2CMS and using the HVX and firewire to mount P2 cards. I only get kernel panics when using the Duel Adapter and P2CMS to ingest footage.

  • Kernel Panic when Networking! Help!

    So:
Since December I've been experiencing kernel panics (which was a phenomenon completely unknown to me before I got a Mac Pro). It usually happened when I was networking with an old iBook. Figured there might be some incompatibility. Got a new MacBook. Kernel panics are now happening more frequently. Its at the point where the panic is completely re-createable if I network from the MacBook to the MacPro, and then disconnect. KP every time.

  • Kernel Panic when attaching time machine USB external drive

Really hope someone can help me with this.
I've got a late 2011 Macbook Pro, and was running Time Machine on a 500GB GDrive USB external drive. Was working fine when I last attached it on Feb 29. The Time Machine backup was encrypted.
When I tried to use it yesterday, as I have lost all my iTunes data on another drive, I got a Kernel Panic when I entered the password for the drive.
I managed to de-encrypt the drive using Disk Utility, but now I get a Kernel Panic everytime I plug the **** drive in.
I really need this backup data, would appreciate any help people can offer. Am running Lion 7.3, and the same error occurs on a Lion iMac that I have tried the drive on.

  • Kernel panics when in sleep mode

I bought a macbook pro about a month ago. It first came with Mountain Lion installed on it. I began having kernel panics when I put the laptop into sleep mode by closing the lid. After some time I would open the lid to find that the laptop had rebooted with a kernel panic. This continued to sporadically happen. I called apple and went to the apple store. The mbp passed their hardware tests so they did a clean Yosemite installation. I am still having the kernel panics. They all look nearly identical. I'm not sure what could be causing this. Any ideas are appreciated.

Apparently the forum software here is preventing my from posting my entire log.

After doing a clean install of Yosemite this same kernel panic continued to happen and I started getting gpuRestarts as well. Finally they replaced my logic board at the apple store and so far no more panics. My google results lead me to believe this was a failing GPU.

  • TS3742 kernel panic when unplugging arduino

    Hello,
I have a very repeatable problem when doing development on an  Arduino.  Randomly when unplugging the Arduino from the USB port my macbook will Kernel Panic.  I've seen a lot of chatter about this on the forums but no solutions.  This is a serious problem for Arduino development on a mac, because you typically have to unplug and plug in the device to upload a new software version.
    Here is my environment:
    macbook Pro
    OSX Lion 10.7.5
    Arduino 1.0.2
Boards: Happens when working with both UNO and MEGA  boards.
Any recommendations would be most appreciated.  Even a way to close/open the serial port without unplugging so I could load new software would be a step in the right direction.
    Thanks!

Please open a bug report at http://bugreport.apple.com - that way Apple will know of the problem and hopefully someone will work on resolution.
PS - You will need the free Apple Developer Connection user id for reporting the bug.

  • Kernel Panics when machine is idle

    Good day all,
I just purchased my MacBook Pro last week -- 2.4 GHz. I am new to OS X. I have gotten these Kernel Panics when the machine has been left idle -- 30 minutes or more. Does anyone have any idea why I am getting this Kernel Panics? What does the panic log below revel about the problem?

I unchecked the "put hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" option in the Energy Saver configuration under System Preferences and this seems to have solved the problem. I left it idle last night for hours and not problem. I will keep monitoring it.
In the mean time, if anyone knows how to read the panic log (or can suggest a tool to do so), please post a reply.

  • PowerBook wake on Sleep-then kernel panic when re-mounting External Drives

Hey all, I found a peculiar behavior with my PowerBook and my Lacie External Hard Drive. If I wake up my PowerBook from sleep, either by shaking the mouse, or opening the lid- the computer sometimes kernel panics when it attempts to re-recognize my partitioned 250 gig external hard drive. This seems to happen 1 out of every 5 times. The external is already mounted that I can tell upon waking; its just that it seems like it panics when it tries to recognize it again. Any one else experienced this? I've had this problem since I've had my external drive, and that probably dates back to 10.4.2. Thanks!

    Hi, Zach.
You might want to try a different FireWire cable, a different FireWire port on your Mac (if available), or contact LaCie, the latter as the enclosure may be malfunctioning. Another potential problem area, although this also usually shows up as spontaneous dismounts of the FireWire drive, is the FireWire drive's power supply, i.e. its power brick, but that seems less likely here.
While it certainly seems like you've isolated the cause to the FireWire drive, you may also want to review my "Resolving Kernel Panics" FAQ. This FAQ includes step-by-step instructions for identifying and resolving some of the most common causes of kernel panics. The FAQ is a roadmap: start at the beginning and work systematically through the end, i.e. the "If all else fails..." section.
    Good luck!

I think you need to post the panic dump listing for folks to help you.  There's no way anyone could guess based on no real information.
