Macbook shutdown. It won't reboot and the power cord isn't lit when plugged in
Had my macbook running and it just shut down. I cannot get it to reboot and the power cord isn't lit up when it is connected to the computer. The only problem leading up to this was I could not use the computer unless the power cord was connected. Any suggestions? Thanks

can you please tell me whats wrong with my mbp and how do i resolve itFirst check the connections on the power adapter and the MBP. Make certain that they are clean and see if the spring loaded connectors on the power adapter are not stuck.
Try a SMC reset:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
If available, try another power adapter.
If no success, bring the MBP and the power adapter to an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.

My MacBook Air won't charge using the power cord and it's not the power cord that's malfunctioning. I went to Radio Shack and tried two new cords. The battery is now dead. Any thoughts?
Unfortunately, my battery has died as a result of not being able to charge with the power cord. Not sure what an SMC reset is but I have made an appointment to bring my laptop in to the Apple Store. Thank you for your response. Very much appreciated.
Warm Regards,

Computer won't turn on and the power cord doesn't light up
My problem with the computer is that it will not turn on. The battery is fully charged, power cord is plugged into a working outlet. I have held down the power button for 10 second or even longer. Nothing turns it on and the power cord doesn't light up at all. Any thing will help.
ThanksFirst, check that your AC outlet has power. Second, see this article: Intel-based iMac- What to do if your computer won't turn on and this one Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC).

Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode
I have tried installing a disc to try and reinstall the operating system.
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.
If you did manage to reach the desktop after doing any of the above
my battery was dying after a few minutes so I was trying to kill the battery and recharge it to see if I couldn't get it back to a full charge.

My iTouch won't turn on and the computer doesn't register it when plugged in.
The screen never went white or crashed, it just won't turn on. I tried plugging it into the computer but it won't register and the base of the iPod near the plug area got really hot. I don't know what's wrong with it or what to do. Help please?
Any charging icon when the iPod Touch get connected?
If no, you can let the iPod Touch connected with any power source, such as computer usb port, then press and hold the "sleep / wake" and "Home" button at the same time until you can see an Apple icon on the screen (usually take around 20 seconds)
Maybe you have to send it to Apple if still won't switched on. -
G4 ibook won't turn on the power cord stays orange and won't charge the bat
I plugged my g4 ibook in and it turned the computer
off, I am in Ghana and used a surge protector but
think this might be the reason. I have tried
resetting the PMU and the orange indicator light on
the power cord blinks green when I do this but then
nothing happens. The battery on the bottom only one
light lights up when pushing the battery button. Has
anyone else had this problem.
In addition I removed the battery and the power indicator light went to green without the battery in and the power in it, but absolutely nothing. Replaced the battery and nothing. Please help I am in Ghana, and have no way to get help!!!Hey Ryan,
Can you hear drumming [I studied with a Ghanian master from the Univ. there for 5 years and have a few hand carved djembes which are awesome].
I'm hoping that will divert you because you're not likely to find a new adapter there but that's undoubtedly the problem. I bent the prong on one slightly and it did the same thing, it's possible yours is like that. If you don't have any knowledge of it being bent it probably happened inadvertently, so you might try letting it sit out in the hot African sun until the gold is very malable then just run your fingers round the prong very lightly try to align it. I tried all night and this didn't work but it did get the thing closer so it might work for you.
Here's a link to a very good price where I got my replacement and it's good $38: http://store.shentech.com/ap24v145wsqs.html -
Hi,
I bought a Macbook Pro last February, and this is the first time this issue has occurred. My computer has been working fine, but this morning the battery icon is showing a big "X" through it, and when I unplug my power cord, the computer shuts off. Also, the power cord light is green, which I take to mean that it can't be charged anymore. How can I fix this?
Thanks!!I had similar issue with one of the macbooks in the office. Make sure you've got latest firmware installed (run Software Update). This resolved the issue for us instantly (you may need to reboot mac AFTER firmware upgrade for this to work).

Won't recognize that the power cord is plugged in
trouble with the power cord. won't let it connect
are you using the original power adapter for the device? has it been working before or is this out of the box?
please indicate what's the model number for your unit and the output specification of the power adapter. -
Qosmio X500 won't start and the power LED is blinks every 5 seconds
Hi,
I need help my X500 won't start now. I tried to start the NB as usual and suddenly the X500 wont boot or even power up.
If I press power button it doesnt make any sound, the power LED on button and the second power LED just bliks once and turns of, and keep blinking every 5 seconds.
I tried to:
* remove battery and power up with AC only
* power with battery only
* remove battery hold power button for 30 seconds and more athen power with AC only, battery only
but it didn't helped.
I checked the AC & Battery LEDs, but they are not flashing, they are just RED, so there is not proble in battery or AC.
Any idea where could be the problem?
Thanks for help

My MacBookAir needs to be charged and the power cord is not lighting or charging
My MacBook Air needs to be charged so I plugged it in as usual, but the green light on the cord is not on and it is not charging. I have tried several plugs to no avail. Does the charging cord wear out???
You can try upgrading your device software, here is the link with the procedure

Laptop not even a year old and the power cord is stripping really bad and barely working
My toshiba laptop is not even a year old and the part of the cord closest to my computer is becoming really stripped. I noticed that it got very hot during pc use, I just assumed that was normal, but I'm starting to think that this heat made the rubber very soft and caused the cord to strip. I guess my question is, do you think toshiba will replace this or will they just say that it was my fault that it happened?
You can either use a cloud service like Google Drive, or use the built in Verizon Cloud Backup, or you could plug the phone into a computer and use it like a USB drive and copy the photos from there to the PC. Your contacts are backup up through Google if you've been saving contacts to your Google account, otherwise Verizon has a backup on the phone as well and when you restart the phone after wipe you can select either or both accounts to restore from.
To factory Reset: Go to Settings (pull down notification bar click on gear top right corner). Then go to Back up and Reset. At the bottom is Factory data reset. Press that then press reset phone. It WILL be completely wiped, but it will keep the current OS version. It'll be like you just bought it. -
How do you turn on the laptop when it shuts itself down and the power button isn't working
How to I turn the laptop on after it has shut itself off
If you hold the power button down for 15 to 20 seconds and the machine still will not turn on, you should do one of three things:
1. Take it to an Apple Store for an assessment and estimate.
2. Take it to an Authorized Apple Service Center for an assessment and estimate.
3. Consider purchasing a replacement machine. -
So I have an IPhone 5 and the power button isn't working
I'm still within my one year warranty but the phone has some scratches on the side of the phone and I'm debating sending it in and not getting a repair
If the iPhone remains under warranty and Apple determines this is a result of manufacturing problem and not caused by accidental damage or abuse, the iPhone will be exchanged under warranty.
