Macbook slow after lion update

Hi everybody,
i have a MacBook, the device is working fine with snow leopard, but when i updated to Lion, my MacBook is slow, i can not view the animation when i open the apps or the app is on full screen.
do i need to restore to factory defaults?
why snow leopard size is: 7.8GB and lion size is: 3.5GB?

What makes you say that? Both are distinguishable from the predecessors based on the CPUs they will run on, and the amount of RAM they will run on. Both are paid for purchases from Apple.
Lion requires 2 GB of RAM and 7 GB of hard disk free. It also got rid of Rosetta, and CoreDuo, CoreSolo compatibility.
Snow Leopard requires 1 GB of RAM, and 5 GB of hard disk free. It also got rid of PowerPC CPU compatibility, though continued to include Rosetta.
Leopard requires 512MB of RAM and 9 GB of hard disk free. It got rid of Classic. It added Boot Camp. It adds certain iTunes to iPhone, iPad, and iPod compatibility.
As for your animation issue, is it with an application known to be Lion compatible?

Do you also have the arbitrarily found additional 15% of hard disk free that helps with Mac OS X in general on top of the specs?
Are your peripheral drivers, and router firmwre all known to be Lion compatible?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

I too have had the problem since updating to Lion. My superdrive isn't even recognized. I have repaid hard disk permissions and also reset PRAM. Sure wish I had a fix.

While researching frame rate I came across this helpful blog posting: Crazy about Captivate: Lessons Learned: Video and Resolution in Adobe Captivate
This is the line that caught my attention: "I discovered, after several experiments, that if you publish a course in Captivate as SCALABLE with a video inserted, no matter what the resolution, it makes the video look pixelated."
When I unclick the "scalable HTML content" button before publishing, the video is fine!
Big sigh of relief! Now I just need to figure out why audio won't play on one of the slides (it has an accordian widget, if that's relevant) and why I can no longer use Effects (I get the message, "Effect file is not valid")

My Blackberry Z10 became extremely slow after OS update to version 10.3.1.2243. For example it sends text message 10-15 seconds after send button has been hit.
Can not answer the phone when a caller is calling (answer slide interface is unrespnsovie), if I want to launch any application screen turns black and nothing happens, etc.
Does anyone experience similar issues?

A quick read of this site will answer your final question quite clearly. The "fix" depends on several factors, but given what you describe I recommend you immediately update, via AutoLoader, to the most recent version (.2582)...some of the prior versions contain some particularly challenging issues, which are reported to be fixed in this version.

Itunes starts extremely slow after an update of windows 8.1.
It takes up to 10 minutus.
If I see the appliction log in event viewer then I see the following errors on the Bonjour service.
For instance:
Client application bug: DNSServiceResolve(a8:fa:d8:3a:1e:8f@fe80::aafa:d8ff:fe3a:1e8f._apple-mobdev2._t cp.local.) active for over two minutes. This places considerable burden on the network.
followed by
SendWakeupPacket error: sent -1 bytes: 10065
What can this be?

I did all the step with save mode and that didn't gave the same result.
Then I created a new account and there itunes started up normally.
So I contued with the user section.
I removed the itunes directory from
c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
This gave the same result in not starting up.
Then I removed the itunes directory from
c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
The a popup appears that the Bonjour Service has been disabled.
I looked in services and saw that is was still running.
But I tried to restart this service and it took a long time to stop this service.
Even if I selected restart the Bonjour Service didn't start.
Manually starting was not a problem.
Clicking OK on the popup let itunes start quickly. And closing and starting it again was also quickly.
So Matt thanks for your answer.
If it happens again I have to see if it was the removing of the itunes directory from roaming or restarting the Bonjour Service.

No. Updating to Lion should not have any effect on your Windows partition. However, I would backup everything first just in case.

Macbook EXTREMELY slow after lion

Dear reader,
I'm hoping for some good support from Apple, because my recent experience with Apple has been horrid. I purchased the lion update for my macbook pro 2gb 2.26ghz dual core in the Apple store. Right after installing this, my macbook started becoming slower. It's taking quite long to boot up, and running more than 2 programs results in a screen freeze every 10 seconds. It literally takes 10-30 seconds for it to process one mouseclick.
I was hoping that this would be fixed with the update released just now including iCloud etc. Unfortunately it just got worse. As we speak, I have to wait for my typed sentences to appear in this screen which takes about 15 seconds. Might aswell toss this piece of crap in the garbage bin and switch back to PC. Just installed this update, it has been installing for over 2 hours!
Any ideas on how to fix this? It's becoming REALLY annoying and I'm bumping into walls wherever I look/go.
Sort your things Apple, or when Lion doesnt' work on my macbook, instruct your stores to not sell it to owners like me!

Has Spotlight finished indexing (after a reinstall, it often wants to re-index everything in sight)? If not, cancel the backup and wait until it is.
Are you sure it's using Ethernet? Turn Airport off briefly to be certain.

Problems after Lion Update

I've had many problems after to do the Lion Update, I did a clean installation but the problems continue...
Sometimes the computer works, but in the biggest part of time I turn on and this become incredibly slow, and caps lock turn on alone, 'shift' doesn't work, I can't do nothing, I can't open anything. I tried turn back to Snow Leopard doing another clean install but the problems continue... I visited many forums and realize that this problem is very common between many people in the exactly same way...
I don't know what must be done. I hope someone give me a light.

i went to the apple store and they said nothing was wrong with my hardware. couldnt say much about the software. so they suggested i re-install my lion OS after i backed-up my stuff. they showed me to press control R or something to go to a menu to let me re-install. but i have forgetten what the combination of the keys are.

Wireless Slow After Lion

Why did my wireless slow down after Lion. I have a time capsule with airport express. After Lion it slowed about 85% on my 13 inch macbook pro.

I have the same issue. From the moment I installed Lion my internetconnection has slowed to a crawl. It affects my (upgraded to Lion)iMac, and my MacBookPro - which is still on Snow Leopard. Both areconnect to a wireless Thompson modem. No problems at all untilupgrading to Lion.
I've tried resetting the modem to factory defaults, and I've tried all 13 modem channels - no joy. It's still crawling.
I'mspitting mad about this becasue it's completely affecting my business,which is mainly done over the internet. Plus my kids are complainingconstantly about no YouTube. In fact anything video/image based is soslow it reminds me of dial up!
Don't get me wrong - I love everything else aboutLion. But slow internet is a massive no no for me. If I don't find asolution in the next few days I'm going back to Snow Leopard.
