Macbook Stuck/dead Pixel Help

hey i just bought my macbook 2 days ago, and now i notice 2 pixel are dead or stuck, i cant really tell. one of them are light blue colour on top when background is white. and the other one is yellow over white background.
Can anyone please tell me what should i do ?? iam not to sure, iam worries that this is dead pixel that cant be fixed >.<
thanks for ur concern
regards
Erwin.

Those are stuck pixels from the sound of it. If they were dead, well you wouldn't be seeing any color other than black and you wouldn't be able to do a thing. Now with stuck pixels you can supposedly fix these some of the time, but don't quote me on that as I've never have had to deal with them. That said there appears to be a widget you can down that might fix your problem....

I think its worth a shot anyways.....

  • How to fix stuck/dead pixel on my iPad 2

I just got an iPad 2 and I found out that there is a stuck/dead pixel on the screen. I thought that I could ignore it at the beginning but it just gets too annoying and it grabs my eye when doing anything. So I need to fix it. But first I need to know is it dead or stuck.
On some colors it appeared in two different colors, it changes each time I look at it from different position.
So on white : blue and red
On black : it does not appear
On purple : red and blue
On red : blue and red (so it does not appear)
On blue : black and blue
I hope I gave enough information. Waiting for your help...
P.S. I entered on YouTube and saw a video called stuck pixel fixer or something like that and I opened it for like three minutes each day for about three days now, and it did not fix it, do I need to play it for a specific time? Or do I need something else?

there is an app (cant remeber the name sorry) but it it basical flix up soild images of colour (red, blue, yellow ect...) and it did it at a speed to try and shake the pixel into working agian, sorry i cant remember the name....but its sumit like screen cleaner or sumit like that.

  • Problems with stuck/dead pixels, battery life, ICS, and other problems

    Stuck/Dead Pixels:
I bought my Droid Razr at around the 21st of December last year. On or around Christmas, I found a bright red pixel on the very bottom of my screen. Unlucky for me, I was leaving for Florida on Christmas Night. I got back on December 31st. Sometime in the first week of this year, I visited my verizon store and told the customer service lady that I had a dead pixel on my screen and had just bought it. But, she told me that she needed the manager to fix this and there was no manager there. For the next week I was busy with school and sports etc and was not able to go back to the store. It was now past my 14 day return period. So I decided, its only one pixel, most people won't notice it anyway. So here I am 5 months later, just starting to discover more pixels dying on my screen. I now have the one bright red one, two light blue ones, and one dark red. I have no idea what the return policy is on defective phones, and the verizon site is designed so that you can't find anything. And an FYI, I have tried stuck pixel removers and other apps, which  haven't been successful.
    Battery Life:
I have also been finding more problems with my phone. The battery life is terrible when 4G and even 3G are on. I actually see no difference in battery consumption between 3G/4G.  My battery dies  about 4-5X faster when data is turned on, compared to using no data. I know it isn't because of the apps I installed since when I use WiFi, the battery is alright. I also make sure that my RAM isn't above 400MB, so that the processor doesn't use a lot of battery. I feel like I completely wasted my money buying the Razr. Mainly because of the fact that the Razr Maxx was announced two weeks later, which has about 80% more battery. Not only this, but I've seen the Razr selling for only ONE PENNY on amazon over the past month and it still is. I payed $300 on my Razr.
    Ice Cream Sandwich:
After these major problems comes another one, that I bet all Razr and Razr Maxx customers are still thinking about. When will I get Ice Cream Sandwich? It is very disappointing when you are told that you will be getting an upgrade in early 2012, and are still wondering where your upgrade is 5 full months in. From what I understand, we won't see an upgrade until the end of June, since Motorola has posted on their website that "rollouts" would begin in the second quarter. Even if they release it by the end of June, when will it get to your phone? Maybe another week or two for some people. This is another thing that I feel I wasted my money on. My brother told me to get the Nexus because of ICS, but I trusted Motorola that they would upgrade my phone in a timely manner. WRONG.
    Phone Freezing:
One more problem that I've had is that the phone will freeze. Usually you only need to turn the screen off and on, but once in a while, you have to completely reboot your phone. When I was coming back from Florida, right as I was about to get home, my phone completely froze. I was about to go return it, but after about 15-20 minutes, it became unfrozen.
    Motion Sensor not functioning:
Another problem, an annoying one, is that sometimes the motion sensor that controls portrait and landscape mode will just stop working. Some of the games I play are completely dependent on the motion sensor. It is very embarrassing  when you are trying to show off to an iPhone friend and major components of your phone aren't working. They always tell me "why didn't you get an iPhone?". And I really just wanted to have a phone that didn't look like everyone else's, but I guess that comes at a cost. When the motion sensor stops working, I have to shut down my phone and restart, which takes a couple minutes.
    Problems with camera:
My last problem would be with the camera. Sometimes if you bring the camera close to something, like a barcode, it will keep trying to focus, but never will. Another problem is photo quality in low light situations. It seems like the camera can't focus because it goes from being very dark into being bright because of the flash. I doubt this can be fixed because it's hardware, but a potential fix could be having the option to keep the LED light on during picture mode, that way the camera will be able to focus correctly.
    In Conclusion:
I really just want someone to tell me how to return my phone for a new one, due to the dead pixels. I also wish I could be upgraded to the Razr Maxx because of the poor battery life on the Razr, but from what other people are saying, that probably won't happen. And finally, if anyone has more info about Ice Cream Sandwich, that would be awesome.

Well since it's a Manufacturing Error it should Fall under your Warranty if you got one with your Razr. You know you can Call C.S. an they can Assist you with the Matter on it.. Just remember to have another phone so they can Trouble shoot the One that is Experiencing the Issue an when you talk to them go over thing. An they should send you C.G.A.N unless they request you to send it in before you get anther one. If you feel Better going to the Store try that. And Good Luck..

  • Have you exchanged a MacBook with dead pixels?

Everything was going smooth with my MacBook - too smooth...
My MacBook is developing dead pixels. I've had it for about 18 days and initially the display was perfect but now it seems that fabled mythical beast, the dead pixel monster, is eating my pixels.
Does anyone know what the official policy is for dead bright pixels? Has anyone actually exchanged a MacBook with dead pixels? If you did get yours exchanged how many dead pixels did it have?
Do you think I am better off to keep the MacBook for a while (wait untill the supply catches up a bit) and then return it - or do I need to deal with the issue within the first 30 days?

things were going smooth with my machine until the screen went black. not a doubt in my mind that the inverter was faulty. so that's a mfg. defect right.
the problem is that apple (like so many companies these days) does not want you bringing a dead/faulty product into their store to just "swap it out."
they're going to want you to send it in and all that fun stuff. normally i wouldn't care so much, but i'm now waiting on a technician to call me back and tell me what to do with the machine - and i'm traveling on friday. mbpro was supposed to be coming with me as it's loaded with all my work for a project. grrrrrr.

  • Why Apple ship macbook with dead pixel??

I have bought a macbook about two weeks ago... but i notice that one pixel was dead...
I phoned to apple costumer care and they sent to me a new macbook, but also this one have a dead pixel!!
Angry, i phoned again to the apple costumer care but this time they doesn't want to change forgotten that i was in time for a RMA request .
Now i send back this macbook again and i don't know if buy again other macbook until (i go on with RMA request ,shippement costs are paid by apple so i dont lose an euro) i dont have a screen as an Dell notebook of 450 euros give. With no one dead pixel.
Samsung sell their HD ready TV with a warranty over ALL pixels... and Apple dont care about that.
    Shame!
I would like to see Steve Jobs in a keynote presenting iPhone with a little black hole in the screen... as i should do with my clients.

Most manufacturers require a certain number of dead pixels before replacing a screen. I actually believe samsung is the only company to have a 0-dead-pixel-policy.

  • Sept 2012 Macbook Pro dead pixel issue

    Hi,
My Macbook pro from Sept 2012 has recently had a major issue with pixels dying, around 10-15 in a few weeks. My Macbook is out of warranty as over a year old so I am wondering what my options are? I don't believe the dead pixels are a fault of my own as I have seen a lot of problems with this issue online.
    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately dead pixels cannot be resuscitated.  The solution is a replacement of the display.
Had you purchased Apple Care, the display, if it was outside the Apple pixel display standards, may have been replaced for free.
    Ciao.

  • Macbook Air - Dead Pixel

I bought my early 2014 Macbook Air a little over 4 weeks ago, and I have just noticed a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. Will Apple fix this for free? I didn't buy my Macbook at an Apple shop, but at an authorized Apple retailer, so should I take it back to them for repair? Needless to say i'm a little frustrated with paying £1000 for a laptop to have a considerable sized dead pixel in the screen.

Will Apple fix this for free?
Only Apple can determine that. Read:

  • MacBook pro dead pixel

Boring one dead pixel ,as an apple fan I can't understand!

Since you didn't post a question, I have no answer for you.  I would note, though, that you posted to the "iPad Forum" about your MacBookPro.

  • Stuck/Dead Pixel on Macbook Pro?

I've had my Macbook Pro since July 4, and I just noticed today that there is a weird part of my screen that remains like a transparent white color. It's a very small area around the size of the tip of a sharpie. It looks larger that a single pixel, but its not huge. For example, if the screen is red, that part of the screen is a lighter shade of red. It's the same for all other colors like orange, green, etc. Even when its all white, the little area stands apart. I ran Pixel Check, and I notice the small area for every test except on black (when all pixels are on). What can I do?
    Thanks

I had a similar situation, but in my case it was just one little hot pixel it appears that you have more than just one. I’ve called Apple Care and demanded and exchange they hesitated in the beginning and try to convince me that this kind of issues are common. However, an hour later of continuing pressure I have talked with the manager in charge and I’ve got the exchange, the new laptop came in without any issues. My advise to you is to call Apple Care and demand for an exchange and if the “1st layer” will not work with just ask for the manager.
Apple should stand behind their product, good luck to you

  • Display problems on Macbook possible dead pixels?

I opened my computer today to find that there is a tiny stripe starting on top of the screen by the camera. It goes all the way down my screen but only shows on the top and bottom of my screen. I can see the full line if I tip my computer a certain way. The line looks green but is flickering. It looks as though the pixels are dead or something. My warranty on my Macbook is definitely up. I bought the computer in 2009, I wanted to ask if there are any quick fixes or if there are any options that won't cost me much. Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

    I agree with a brody.

  • IPhone 4 Stuck/Dead Pixel?!

Help? My iPhone 4 (CDMA) has a tiny green pixel somewhere in the bottom right of the screen. It's really annoying and eye-catching to me, I had to go have it repaired two times already. First time was long ago, where my phone's screen was shattered and then repaired front and back. The guy didn't repair it well, so I had it repaired again recently. My phone looks good as new though there's a problem, there's a dead/stuck pixel. Just like I mentioned, the green pixel is visible if you pay attention closely. It's upgraded to the latest to the latest firmware and restored.
Though, anyone here know how to get rid of that pixel? Without damaging my phone or having it repaired again since I took it to different people who were experts. Thanks, I'd appreciate any feedback/replies.

Pixels being broke are a hardware issue
    my advice
Backup your device then restore it
if the pixels still show up
Contact apple at 18006947466 or visit a retail store.
because you backed it up all you need to do is restore your new phone from the backup

  • Dead Pixel Help

So i bought my macbook back in May and the complementary and in the last few weeks there has been 2 black pixels down in the corner of my screen , now it looks like there may be a few more, my warranty has just run out and i do plan on getting the international one before i go back home to ireland, but is there any way of fixing it or will they do for me , i dont mind paying a fee to get it fixed , if i could leave the warranty for another few weeks or if ive to get the warranty now will they just replace the screen and not the whole macbook.

If you mean May 2007, your warranty has not run out. You get a one year warranty. Phone support is only 90 days unless you get applecare. Take it into an apple store and they should be able to help you get it fixed. Be sure to back up your hard drive before you do it.

  • MacBook Pro dead, need help urgently please!

    My mac has died. It's really urgent to fix because I have a degree project to submit in 2 days! Many thanks in advance for help;
Yesterday my mac froze up ( nothing would move appart from the cursor ). I hit the off button and my mac takes about 15-20 minutes to load up. When it does load its veeerrrryyyy sluggish and the beach ball whirls. It also popped up with a circle with a line through it, its stopped doing that since turning on and off a few times.. I tried reinstalling lion from command R at restart. This worked but didn't fully erase everything and I still have the same issue. I now can't go to the recovery menu on restart it just goes straight to log in so I am unable to fully erase everything.
    Computer specs:
MacBook pro mid 2009 running 10.7.3 Lion.
    2.66 dual core
    8 gig ram
    320 hard drive.
Any help would be most appreciated!!!
    Many thanks!

I have the disc assistant on an SD connected to USB but my computer will only open it with disc utility. Is there anything I coud do?
The program you download is meant to be downloaded and run from OS X on a working Lion Mac (not your sick one) to copy the Recovery HD Partiton of their Lion Mac to the USB thumb drive (properly formatted) then you take it to the sick Mac and can hold the option key boot off of it.
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/08/lion-recovery-disk-assistant-tool-makes-external- lion-boot-recovery-drives/
Once you get your computer booted off the Recovery USB, you connect a blank external drive and install Recovery HD and OS X Lion onto that from the Recovery USB using your AppleID and password.
Once you got that done, then you hold the option key down and boot the computer off the external drive, which the internal drive can be seen when you do Finder > Go menu > Computer and click on your internal boot drive.
Then you open the Users folder and copy your User to the external drive your booted from.
Once you have gotten your User folder copied off the machine, you can choose to run the comptuer off the external drive until your ready to have it fixed.
If you can't handle all this, then call a local Mac/PC computer person to do it for you, as Apple may just replace the drive and tell you tough luck charlie, you should have made a backup.
