Look into iKlear Polish Cleaning.  Do a Google search for others.  Or call an Apple Store or an AASP & ask for their recommendations as they are "Apple" professionals and should know the best & better products.

  • Macbook stuck on white screen with apple logo. help please

I have a macbook (black model) and while I was surfing on internet it is frozen. so I shut it down and restarted. When I restarted, it stuck on white screen with gray apple logo and seems like booting but nothing happens.
after that, I restarted again and put installation disc (leopard) without pressing any key and it opened normally. I backed up os with time machine but in one hour it is frozen again.
restarted again but this time it did not boot normally. so i tried booting from cd with c key, it opened installation screen. I have opened disk utility top repair disk, but when I click on disc image, repair / verify disk buttons are unavailable to click and S.M.A.R.T status is not supported.
After all, I tried to erase and install system several times, but after language section when I click agree to terms and conditions, mac freeze again.
So, I do not know what to do. Any help please?
Note: I already tried PRM and Safe Mode. (after safe mode it took me to installation screen again and nothing changed.)
Any help would be much appreciated!
Uptade: Also, opened system profiler and clicked on Serial-ATA, it seems loading but do not show any info. stucked again! help please

    HI,
*"I have opened disk utility top repair disk, but when I click on disc image, repair / verify disk buttons are unavailable to click and S.M.A.R.T status is not supported."*
You need to select "MacintoshHD 10.5.8 not "disc image" in order to run Disk Utility and Verify and if necessary, Repair the disk.
That's why you are seeing this dialog.
*are unavailable to click and S.M.A.R.T status is not supported.*
Also, run the Apple Hardware Test.

  • Macbook stuck on white screen

I'm trying to figure out what happened to my g/fs Macbook, hoping for some help. It's about 3 years old, runs OS X (not sure on the version but it is updated as needed). Yesterday she was prompted to update a couple programs, not sure which ones. As usual after updating it prompted her to restart the computer which is where the problems started. It now boots to the white screen with apple logo and spinning circle on the bottom, no other symbols/logos appear.
We've tried the PRAM and PMU resets. We've booted into single use mode and tried fsck. The battery is fully charged as well. What should we try next?
    Thanks for any help!!

May I ask you what "booted up in Verbose Mode" means? I can't boot my macbook up. The computer was on, and the screen went black. I restarted, and only got the white screen. The little lite on the edge of the computer that shows it is on, goes off immediately.
I then get the grey icon in the center of the screen that is a file folder with a question mark on it.
How does one boot up in Verbose mode?

  • Macbook stuck on white screen at bootup

I have a Macbook that just went past three years old. Working fine yesterday and today my son pulled it out to do his homework. When you turn it on the screen comes up off white or grey looking with no icons. The front power light comes on for a second and then goes away. I have tried to boot holding the shift key, the option-command-p-r, option-command-power and pulled the power for over one minute. Nothing seems to make it come alive and I can't eject a CD that is in there. I have also tried to turn the caps lock on and the light never comes on. When I tried the option-command-power held for 3+ seconds I get a loud beep and the front light start to fast blink but once I let go it just boots to the same white screen. I don't know what other options I have to get this thing up and running. I also tried apple-T. Any help is greatly appreciated and at a minimum how can I get the disc that is in there out if the system is dead. PLEASE HELP!

So I pulled the ram and try booting up, all I get is a flashing power light on the front face of the computer. Then I reinstall the ram, turn power on and once again the power light comes on for a second then shuts off and the screen comes on and is just whitish grey. I pulled the hard drive and installed in an external case and it works great on my mac pro. Once again, when the system is turned on the power light comes on for a short second then shuts off and the screen comes on blank. Further, I can not eject the disc that is in the drive and I can not get the caps lock to light up.
Is this computer dead? Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

  • New MacBook stuck at white screen on startup

My 1.83 GHz MacBook arrived today, and I pressed the power button for the first time. Heard the chime, saw the screen backlight turn on. And then nothing. No Apple logo, nothing.
The system is loading just fine, and after a little while I hear a female voice saying 'English' -- that must be the language selection screen, which I can't see, because the screen is still a bright white rectangle, nothing else.
I called AppleCare and following their instructions reset the PRAM, and the PMU. Tried loading the Install DVD. Result is invariably: a blank, white screen.
After a while, the bright white screen dims. That's the screensaver. O irony!
AppleCare gave up and told me I needed to order a new one. Or get my money back. This means waiting another two weeks, as white MacBooks are not in stock in the Netherlands, yet, and have to be shipped here from China.
If anyone can think of a way to try and remedy this before sending the MacBook back, please let me know.
MacBook 1.83 GHz, 1 GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I had the very same thing happen to me with the first Macbook I bought.
I drove 40 minutes to the Applestore and 40 minutes back with a nice new white 1.83 Macbook, turned it on, began the setup process just as happily as could be when suddenly the screen bled to white - entirely white. I couldn't get it back so I could see anything. The thing was useless less than an hour after I bought it.
I called the Apple store and they told me that I would have to set an appt with the Mac "Genius", which wasn't going to be for a couple of days. I told them that this situation didn't take a genius to figure out - it's broken. Then they told me that I had to call Applecare and probably send it back. Whatever happened, the guy at the Apple store said they wouldn't swap it out.
I called Applecare and ran through the battery of tests that you described and was told by the man that I should take it back to the store (though he couldn't guarantee that they would swap it - but it was worth a try). So I did. The guy with whom I talked on the phone at the store was rather irritated when his superior read the notes input by the Applecare guy, which suggested a swap. She swapped it out and the new one has been just fine.
All of this was within two hours. Irritating and time consuming but at least they corrected the issue the way they should have.

  • Macbook stuck on white screen with folder and question mark

My macbook is stuck at the screen with the folder with a question mark on it. I have tried a few things like the ones I found on google and so far no go. I tried pressing the command + p +r keys and it didn't work. I also tried to eject a cd and nothing. finally i tried pressing the command + option + p + r and nothing. Guys please help me. I really need this laptop.
I even tried just the command + r. I would like to reinstall OS. What are the steps please?

What version of OS X are you running? When you hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting, do you get to the Recovery partition?

Whenever I on my MacBook it gives off this white screen as seen in the pic. I tried command+r and holding down the option key on startup but it still leads me to this white screen. Help please and thanks on advance.

I think you'd better off making Genius Bar appointment and show them your problem.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

  • Stuck at white screen MacBook Pro 2011

Hello everyone! I'm currently at a loss of what to do next. I have a MacBook Pro 13" Early 2011 Core i5 with the Intel HD 3000 graphics. When I turn the laptop on, I get the chime and then a white screen. If I wait a minute or so, the screen dims and I hear my mail notifications and i'm able to adjust the volume and brightness with the keyboard buttons. However, it's still just a white screen, I can dim and brighten it with the keys but absolutely NO actual video what so ever. I've tried unplugging the battery, the charger, command+option+p+r, reseating the video connector, reseating ram, etc, any help? Thanks so much!

If you have also tried all the things mentioned in the treads in the More Like This column, it's time to take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.
If you are still under warranty, call Apple tech support.

    Hello KCC4ME,
You may try booting your Mac in Safe Boot, as it can resolve many issues that may prevent a successful login.
OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

If a Safe Boot allows you to successfully log in, you may have issues with one or more login itmes (while the following article is labelled as a Mavericks article, it is viable for earlier versions of the Mac OS, as well).

my camera on my iPhone 5 is not working it's stuck on the shutter screen what can I do please help!!!!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
