MacBook to HDMI Connect - Not Supported

I have been using the same HDMI cord connecting to my same MacBook for a year now.  I have enjoyed watching movies without a single problem.  Two software updates later and my HDMI cord says it is no longer supported.  I have read just about everything out there and have changed my remote settings, changed my display resolution on my MacBook and nothing works.  My television has not changed as it is a 1080p, but cannot quite figure out how a software update on my computer would throw off my HDMI displays.  I have tried a host of fixes, but nothing works.  Please help...

Connect to HDTV with mini DVI to HDMI adapter or cable should work.

  • Additional data connections not supported.

    Hello,
I am currently using SharePoint 2013 and InfoPath 2013.
I want to create a drop down list in InfoPath that points to external data content (in this case a lookup table in SQL server).
The process works in the InfoPath "preview" mode, but when I go to publish it to my SharePoint website, I get the following error:
    "Additional data connections not supported."
I've also tried deploying the data source to my InfoPath Connection library on the SharePoint website and pointing it to that, but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
One further thing to note is that I am limited to a non-HTML5 web brower so I can't use Light Switch.
    Kind regards,
    Joshua

    Hi Joshua,
Based on my research, we cannot add data connections to External List forms. They are not supported just like the error says. It's a limitation of InfoPath and there is no workaround for this issue so far.

  • Macbook Pro 2011 do not support SATA III?

Macbook Pro 2011 do not support SATA III?

Yes, they do, sort of! It's funny because I was about to complain about my THIRD 2011 MacBook Pro and while SATA III works fine in the main hard drive bay, it will not let me put a second SSD into the optical drive bay for a RAID 0 solution. This affects all 15" and 17" MBP's, but strangely enough, it works just fine on the 2011 13" MBP's. GRRR! This is so infuriating.

  • Read-only connections not supported

We trying to set the JDBC connection as "read-only" and we are getting the following SQLException when calling Connection.setReadOnly( true ):
    setReadOnly: Read-only connections not supported
We are running Oracle 8i (8.1.7.4.0) with JDBC driver version 8.1.7.2.0.
Why this setting is not supported?
    Thanks in advance,

    N. Thomassin,
I wonder if a setting on the server has to change
to "enable" this feature...Sorry, I don't know. I suggest searching the Oracle documentation, the MetaLink Web site and the Ask Tom Web site.

  • FireWire connections not supported - randomly pops up

Hey. This is my 3rd ipod and the first one to have this problem. I have the 80gig 5th gen bought a few months ago. The problem I keep getting is that the FireWire connections not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided message keeps popping up. It does this randomly and sometimes takes several clicks. When I hook it up to my monster fm transmitter in my car the problem worsesns when sometimes no matter how many times I click it will not go away.
    Things I've tried
    Resetting it, many times
    Formating
basically those 5rs, I don't know wat else to try. I havent tried reinstalling itunes only because I seriously doubt this will fix the problem since it doesn't only happen when I connect it to my comp.
Can anyone help? I've seen this problem posted a few times with no response.
    Thanks

The answer is simple-your iPod will not work with Firewire. It requires USB. I had a Firewire iPod(miss it dearly) and it will charge from the firewire cable but it will not connect to the computer or the dock.

  • Firewire connections not supported....

I had recently upgraded from a 20G to a 60G video. I honestly dont know what generation my first one is, but it is white and does not have a color screen...Anyway, on the older one, I am able to use firewire to load music from Itunes. When I tried to plug in the new one, using the same library, it says 'firewire connections not supported. Use the USB cable provided'. I am hoping there is a setting that I can flip to change this.

No you can't - the current release of iPods only support synching through USB.
FW accessoire can be used for battery charging only.

  • Macbook Pro Retina HDMI Does Not Support 2560 x 1080

I have both the early and late 2013 rMBP 15 inch but it seems like the early 2013 does not support my Dell U2913WM at maximum resolution of 2560 x 1080 for some reason on HDMI. Are the HDMI ports any different between the two? I'm tried using SwitchResX, but at 2560 x 1080, I can only go up to 53 Hz before it says invalid configuation on the early 2013 rMBP. On the late 2013 rMBP, it can output 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz fine. It would seem like both graphics cards are more than capable of pushing this resolution, and if I connect through Displayport, they're both fine too. I was hoping to use HDMI though to free up a Thunderbolt port. Why are the HDMI ports not outputting at the same capabilities?

Absolutely, I understand that but I'm wondering if or why Apple has limited the HDMI port on the early 2013 rMBP. HDMI 1.4 should be more than capable at outputting up to 4k resolution, so it would seem like Apple is intentially limiting the early 2013 rMBP to HDMI 1.2? At least one post from as early as 2012 seems to suggest that installing Windows on a rMBP allows higher outputs. I thought Mavericks included support for HDMI 1.4 (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?101431-10-9-Mavericks-4K-working-tes ting-it-now) but did they not extend it down to the early 2013 rMBP? Seems like it would be able to support it, no?
Perhaps the better question is whether anyone has been able to output anything at over 1080P on anything other than the latest rMBP after upgrading to Mavericks?
    From the earlier discussion:
"The port definitely supports it, but OS X is another story. If I boot into Windows and connect it to a display capable of displaying 2560x1440 over HDMI, it just works. If I'm in OSX, it refuses to allow anything over 1920x1200. Even if I try to force the resolution with SwitchResX, it doesn't work. If I create a custom resolution with a 40Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz, then it does actually work. 2560x1440 @ 40Hz fits within the bandwidth constraints of a single link at 165MHz. So it appears that OSX limits the port to 1.2 frequencies. I'm not realy sure why -- HDMI 1.4 should allow for frequencies upto 340MHz, and the hardware is clearly capable based on Windows."
Now that Mavericks supports higher than 1080P over HDMI at least on the latest rMBP, did they just not extend that support to earlier rMBP's even though the hardware is capable of it?

  • BENQ FP241W on Retina Macbook Pro - native resolution not supported?

    Hi there,
I have tried connecting my BENQ FP241W monitor to my new Macbook Pro with retina display via HDMI.
The monitor appears to be displaying at only 1600x900 and looks very blurry since the native resolution of the monitor is 1920x1200. I have actually tried this with an older 2009 model macbook pro and the same thing happend, although I was using a dispaly port to HDMI adaptor and never investigated further to the reason the native resolution was not supported.
Going back to the Retina Macbook and the BENQ FP241W. It gives the following resolution options for scaled: 1080p, 1080i and 1600x900. When I choose 1080p or 1080i it looks the same as 1600x900 i.e very blury and not even close to the sharpness that is capable of the display - true 1080p should look sharper than how it looks selected so I dont believe it is actually displaying 1080p. It also has the option for 'best for display' which I would expect it to show native resolution of 1920x1200 - unfortunately it still apears to be 1600x900.
Can anyone help me out? Is this a driver issue or something else?
    Thanks
    Rich

I can sort this out by just using a HDMI > DVI cable which works fine. I think there must just be an issue with the BenQ HDMI input supporting 1920x1200. Its annoying because the screen is also connected to a PC workstation by DVI so it would be good to have the HDMI for the Macbook so I can quickly switch the display by pressing a button instead of having to unplug cables...

  • Macbook air hdmi connection problem

I cannot get my macbook air to connect to my tv via an hdmi cable. I suspected my cable until my neighbor had the same issue. Have others experienced this and is there a solution?

I have had this same problem. Has the wifi worked before? What I did was I turned my wifi off, then I restarted my computer, then I turned my wifi back on. If that doesnt work, leave the wifi off, and shut it down for a while. Hope I could help!

  • 3rd party hdmi adaptor not supported after ios 8

Hi everyone..... since i updated my ipad 2 to the ios8 i can no longer watch or view my photos on the tv with my 3rd part hdmi adapter it says this is not supported now, i went to apple and they said its coz its not an apple product i said it worked before but no one is offering any advice.

It is possible that iOS 8 has been tweaked to sense the adapters being used.  That was done with iOS 7 and the Lightning cables - the iOS devices would simply reject those that were not in full compliance with Apple specs.  Some of he high quality third-party cables were fine and worked.  Those that were the cheaper knockoffs did not work, the device would not charge and would not be recognized by iTunes.
i always stay with Apple stuff unless they do not make a particular cable/adapter but sell a third-party item.

  • 30 pin to HDMI now not supported?

I Have a 30 pin to HDMI connector and I now get the error "this device is not supported" when I plug them in.   Is there a way to fix this?  It just started to happen and I can not fix it.

UNfortunately there is no way to fix this, not even with the newest iOS 8.1 --- i hoped iOS 8.1 would have solved the HDMI screen mirroring problem, but i was wrong. I suggest to inform Apple of this problem by writing to

  • HT5012 Ipad 2 hdmi adapter not supported via Netflix

I am using an ipad 2 with updated iOS 7.0.6. Whenever I try to stream my netflix app via the 30pin hdmi adapter it will pop up with an error stating that the adapter is not supported. Please help!!

Using a generic 10ft HDMI cable for the IPad2 with the HDMI adapter from Apple is working for me (destination is .  On occasion it loses the audio.  Stopping and starting the video player usually brings the audio back.  The audio sometimes works at first and then randomly fails.  I suspected imperceptible movement between the stiff HDMI cable, the adapter, and IPad2.  Securing the wires to relieve strain relative to the IPad2 appears to have helped, but that means the device cannot be moved around freely.  (Why audio would drop instead of high bandwidth video or both signals, I have no idea.)

  • Sun Cluster & 6130/6140 thru switch with cross-connections not supported?

    Hi:
I noticed that the 6140 does not support cross-connecting the 2 controllers to 2 switches for higher availability when using Sun Cluster:
    http://docs.sun.com/source/819-7497-10/chapter3.html
Does anyone know why this restriction is there?
    Thanks!

Since there was no real answer to the question in this forum, I cross posted this issue to the cluster forum.
See http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5261282&tstart=0 for the full thread.
Basically, the restriction against cross-connections is no longer valid and the documentation should be updated to remove the note.
This is all a good thing, because I had my 6140's wired into my sun cluster environment via the 'cross-connections' method diagramed in figure 3-4. :-)

  • Macbook Alu is a not supported bluetooth device fo...

I tried everything possible to synchronize my Nokia E50 with iSync on a MacBook (the aluminium unibody one), but this operation is impossible because my phone not support MacBook as a bluetooth device. I've never had this problem with the previuous MacBook model (the policarbonate one). I have just update both device with the last software version or firmware, but there's nothing to do.
Anyone can help me please? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with the new alu Macbook and my Nokia E65. In OSX there's no communication possible between the Macbook and the E65... I've installed (with Bootcamp) Vista on the same Macbook and then there's no problem at all. So the problem is related to software problems in OSX...
