MacBook to iPod Transfer

I want to transfer music FROM my MacBook to my 2nd generation iPod Touch.  Is this possible, and how do you do it?

not that i know of, you will need to get the administrator to enter the password onto your ipod.

  • I cannot tranfer video from my macbook to ipod touch.

I cannot tranfer video from my macbook to ipod touch, I drag and drop my video to my itunes from my movies folder on my macbook, but it flips back, thus I have nothing to sink to my ipod touch. i have followed the tutorials but nothing works, any advice would be great.

Hi and welcome to Apple discussion.
Usually, when I get this message, that means the movie/video is not able to be play using my iPod touch. So, what I'll do is that, I'll open the movie/video in QuickTime and share it to iTunes. Then, my movie/video can be transfer into my iPod.
    Hope that helps.

I just got a new MacBook and ipod Nano, and when I plugged the ipod into the usb 2.0 port, a message came up saying a usb port was drawing too much power and would be shut down. i'm charged and plugged in, is the wire messed up, the port, or the nano?

strange - try the second port.
    possibly a bad cable.

  • HT204074 I need to de-authorized older macbook and iPods. I went through manage my account, read support, but there is not a choice to list devices and select to de-authorized device, only de-authorize all! I have several old devices and need to add new p

I need to de-authorize older macbook and ipods. I read support for Itunes via my account. Directions to "manage devices", but only choice is to deauthorize all computers.  How can I get list of all devices?  My account says four devices are alread authorized under my ID, but does not list them. Please advise. thanks.

The title of my initial post is a bit misleading. I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the  "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.

  • What is the iPod transfer (ACC-AIFF) rate

I upgraded my system and now have a larger HD.
I reentered most of the songs in AIFF whereas prior they were ACC.
I have a 6og iPOD and all the songs will not fit if the iPOD loads them as AIFF.
Does the iPOD transfer at the rate that the iTunes songs are imported or are they adjusted to ACC or MP3 ?
If not can I change the iPOD transfer rate setting and/or only transfer from certain playlists similar to the iPhoto ability.
    Thanks,
    Greg

*Where are the settings for the iPod ? - I only noticed them when I have my iPod attached to the computer.*
That's correct you'll only see the iPod preferences when your iPod is connected and showing in iTunes.
*Otherwise if I attach the iPod it will try and download the entire iTunes library.*
If your iPod is set to update automatically you can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You should then be able to change your settings Once you are connected you can access and change the settings: iTunes for Mac - Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Comment supprimer des musiques de mon Ipod transférées de mon Mac avec Cloud? Merci

Comment supprimer des musiques de mon Ipod transférées de mon Imac,  merci

How you delete content from your iPod depends on how it is set up to receive content from your iTunes library whether that be via automatic syncing or manual management.
For automatic syncing, you must reconfigure your settings so that the album/tracks/content you wish to remove is no longer configured to sync to your iPod.  For example, if the Sync only checked songs and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab, make sure all the tracks for this album do NOT have a tick mark next to them in your iPod.  Then resync your iPod with iTunes.
If that isn't the case, you'll want to look at the iPod's Music configuration tab.  You can access this tab by selecting your iPod under Devices. This should bring you to theSummary tab over to the right.  Look for the Music tab along the top and select it.  Here you can configure how and what music syncs to your device.  If you make any changes to this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the updated changes to your device.
Otherwise, if you manually manage your iPod's contents, you must manually remove content from it.  You can do this by plugging your iPod in and clicking the small black triangle next to your iPod from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will open up a submenu of content that is indented underneath the name of your device, so go ahead and click on Music (or whatever content you are wanting to remove).  Locate the track or tracks/content you wish to delete. Highlight them and hit the Delete key or choose Edit -> Delete.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT201269 old ipod transfer content to new Macbook pro

I am trying to transfer music from my ipod touch to my new macbook pro but i am unable to download the music from the ipod to the itunes on my macbook. any ideas??

    See:

For non-Tunes purchased music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed in the above.

  • Transfer library from Power Book to MacBook using Ipod Nano 4 GB

I went through all the steps to use my Ipod Nano to transfer my libray. I checked to see if there is enough space on my ipod - there is. However, when I drag the Itunes folder to the Ipod I get the message "The item Itunes cannot be copied because there is not enough free space" ???
    Any ideas what's wrong?

Do you have any music / photos, etc synced to the iPod or is it totally empty?

  • New Macbook, old iPod

I'd like to transfer the tunes on my iPod to my new Macbook's iTunes. The tunes I'd purchased from the iTunes store were easy enough, but most of my music library consists of selections from my CDs, and I'd really like to avoid downloading them individually to my computer again.

The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Transferring 1 photo from macbook to iPod

I am able to transfer a photo from my macBook Pro to my iPod, but if I transfer a 2nd photo, the 1st one disappears from my iPod.
    What am I doing wrong?

You need to select everything that you want to be on the iPod to sync.
Ipod will simply mirror the selected content of your computer.
Open itunes, connect ipod, select everything that you want to be on the iPod and sync.

  • Can't Move rented movies Macbook to iPod Touch

Rented 2 Movies from iTunes.  Downloaded both to Macbook.  Syncing iPod touch to Macbook, selected Move the movies to iPod.  Received error message Cannot move movies to iPod because they are in an unsupported format.  Very Odd since they came from iTunes store and I have done this dozens of times before.  An older movie that i had ripped did transfer ok.  Movies are MPEG-4, rented "Protected MPEG-4".  I am traveling and would like to have these movies on my iPod.

Itunes support answered the question.  It happens that my version of iPod touch won't support the HD format.  Had I rented the movie in SD i would have been able to complete the transfer
