Macbook w/10.6.8 not seeing print server

So here's the problem with 2 of my macbooks with 10.6.8 on it. We recently set up a new print server and is working for all of our other laptop of same the vintage except for 2 of them. I've redone there network settings-that's fine. I've rebound them to our network-that's fine too. I've reset the print system-that's worked perfectly with all of the other laptops except these 2. I've cleared the MCX cache. Deleted CIJScannerRegister.plist. I've even reset the pram and smc just to be complete about it but still none of the printers for that building show up (that do show up for all the other laptop of same model and also 10.6.8)
What am i missing?
Also, i've verified that the 2 laptops are indeed in the correct print group in WGM.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with printing from 2 of your MacBooks. You have taken some really good troubleshooting steps already. I found an article with a few additional steps you can take. I recommend following the steps below (you can skip the steps you have already taken):
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

Note: If your printer is wireless-capable, you should first add the printer to your network. Use the printer's control panel, or temporarily connect the printer to your Mac via USB. For more details, see this article.

VPN Connected but can not see folders / server

I have established a connection between an OSX server and client but now can not see the server or any services on the client. There are no servers listed in the 'Network' section of finder and using 'Connect to server' I can not see it either. The log on the server shows the connection and the client does as well but other than that I can not do anything with the connection.

I tried connecting to server by doing command+K and entered the ip address like afp://ipaddress/user
doesn't work. I get error message saying:

If you are talking about using two external Thunderbolt displays (in addition to the internal display) with your Mid 2011 MacBook Air 11-inch, you may want to be aware that only a single external Thunderbolt display is supported on that model, as noted in the following article:

Rendezvous does not see printer

Hi,
One of the MACs sharing a usb printer on a AEBS network does not see the printer in Rendezvous. All the other computers printing through the AEBS can do so with no problems. OS is OS X 10.2.8.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

It is my impression that firmware versions 5.5 and newer for the Airport Extreme Base Station have give many users of pre-MacOS 10.3 Macs problems with printing.

Enable it, and select a keyboard shortcut.
Dictation will become active, when the cursor is inside a textfield in a document and you type the keyboard shortcut, e.g.function key twice.

Macbook Pro won't work with HP print server n2101?

Hi all, happy New Year. I have a new Macbook Pro and I am trying to hook it up to my HP print server n2101 and my HP psc 2210 all-in-one printer. The mac recognises the server (and vice versa), the mac prints when connected directly to the printer but the server refuses to connect with the mac (keeps showing 'idle') Anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Very disappointed as all things mac usually work with no probs!

Hi, I used the Mac setup instructions, not the PC ones. The printer was automatically recognised in print and scan when I connected it with a USB cable. I accessed the server's web-based page and followed all the instructions, but still no joy. Thanks for the tip about posting. I have just posted in the section you suggested, so let's see what happens. From a quick scan around the apple forums, lost of other people seem to having precisely the same problem (and not just with HP printers!), but unfortunately, no-one seems to be offering a solution! And trying to get through to the apple online support is a complete waste of time. They've been 'not available' for two days now. Christmas/New Year shutdown, I suppose. Thanks for all your help, though!

BT Home Hub 5 not recognising print server

Decided to approach the forum as I have run out of ideas for fixing this problem.
I originally had a BT Home Hub 3 which worked fine with my HP Designjet 500ps plus using using a wireless HP Jetdirect EW2400 print server. I then upgraded to BT Infinity using a BT Home Hub 5 that's when my problems started.
The hub does not recognise the print server in wireless mode so the following is what I tried to no avail:
1. The printer setup was updated for the new hub online (192.168.1.75) for new SSID.
2. Reset hub.
3. Print server confirmed transmitting.
BT Home Hub Manager
4. Re-configured for Ch 11 and 12, preferred Designjet channel.
5. Changed 2.4ghz & 5ghz to different SSID names.
6. Unsync 2.4ghz & 5ghz.
7. Disabled 5ghz.
8. Tried Port Forwarding to allow access.
9. AVG Anti-Virus elminated from possible problem.
10. Ping confirmed 192.168.1.75 inaccessable.
The good point, I can plot using network cable but trailing it through the house to the large plotter is not desireable!
There must be someone else out there with the same plotter and problem so if someone could help it would much
appreciated.

EP not see MDM server

Hi Gurus
When I create a new MDM system in a Portal Content -> MDM Connection Wizard on step 4 (Select Repository) I cannot select any MDM repository because the drop-down empty. So I cannot finish the wizard and create a new MDM system reference in EP.
My EP (NW 7.00 SP13) and MDM Server (5.5 SP6) are running on the same host. In MDM Console I can connect to my MDM server and see the MDM repository mounted to it.
What is the problem with the MDM Connection Wizard? Maybe I specified the wrong properties on steps 1-3?

1. How can I check this? I deployed the following SCAs: BP_MDM_TECHNOLOGY (5.50.6.0), MDM_JAVA_API (5.50.6.0) & MDM_WEB_UI. My MDM server seems a little bit newer: it's version is 5.5.64.92. Can it cause the problem?

In general when I come to the step Select Repository I do not see any delays. It seems the EP's wizard does not even try to connect to MDM server host which I specified on step 3. If, for example, I specify any unreachable wrong MDM Server host and go to step Select Repository it'll appear immediately without any connection attempts to the wrong host.
Maybe something need to be configured additionally? What I did was I installed MDM Server + Console, started the MDM server, created and mounted MDM repository located on the remote MS SQL Server, then I deployed the SCAs mentioned before and restarted my J2EE server.

Not seeing printer through airport

So here's my current setup. My Internet comes in to my DSL Modem..which is hooked up to a 4 port router. My router has two iMacss hardwired to the first two ports, and my airport is hooked up to the 3rd open port. My HP 1310 all in one is hooked up to one of my hardwired iMacs through USB. I've checked th Shared box for the 1310, but only the other iMac that's hardwired through the router is able to see the printer. My ibook that is connected to the internet via airport is not able to see the shared 1310. I've turned appletalk through ethernet through both of the hardwired imacs, and i've got appletalk activated through the airport for my ibook. Why can't my iBook see the shared 1310 printer. they're all connected to the same router essentially (2 hardwired and 1 via airport). If anyone has any answers PLEASE HELP...thanks in advanced.

This problem is easily solved by disabling the router built into the Airport Express. Run the Airport Admin Utility, select your Base Station, click Configure, click the Network tab, and uncheck the setting to "Distribute IP addresses". Update settings to the Airport Express. Finally (and very important) restart all wireless computers. That's it.

Do you have Do Not Disturb enabled? Settings>Do Not Disturb
Do you have the mute switch engaged? It's the little slider over the volume buttons on the side. If you can see orange, it's engaged. Slide it the other way.

AirPort Extreme does not see printer, hard drive, AirPort Express!

I just got an AirPort Extreme (802.11n), to replace my AirPort Express. I have a Brother 665CW wireless all-in-one printer, which had worked perfectly but now I cannot find it. I have also hooked my USB hard drive into the Extreme. I can see the hard drive in the AirPort Utility, but I don't know how to find it from my iBook. I'd also like to put the Express in another room to use the AirTunes feature. Unfortunately, almost nothing is working!

I had problems adding Airport expresses using Airport Utility. However I found it worked fine if I used the manual set-up option and not the Assist me option.
Reset the airport express then, in manual set-up, set the express to 'join an airport network' add the airport network password and see if that works

HP 8600 Printer Will not see printer when scanning.

I am using an HP 8600 Printer. It is connected to my computer and prints just fine. I am also able to scan from my computer. However, when I go to the printer and select "scan" then "computers" my computer is not listed. I never had a problem with it until now. I can from my computer scan a document, but not from the printer itself. Why is that and why will the printer not list my computer. It does not make any sense!

No the other computer is running Widows 7. The one I am having a problem with is running Vista. It worked before and now it doesn't. All items in Network Sharing Center and "On". Next suggestion! Thanks for all your help by the way. I don't know what else to try. : (
