Macbook will not connect to any form of internet PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

Can someone help me. I have no idea what to do. I recently bought an Apple Mac Book 1.83Ghz. It was slightly used. It will not connect to the internet, at all. It will connect to my wireless network, and have full signal strength. But when I open safari, or any program requiring internet, it says there is no connection. I have hooked the computer stright up to my cable modem, and it still said no connection. Look I really, really need help. I don't know what to do, and I need to use this laptop asap! Please, if you see this try to help me. It will not connect at all. Please, please help.

Yes, I did. I have a linksys wireless G rougher, and an optimum online cable modem. The cable modem is hooked upto the roughter. I plugger a cord into the roughter, to the computer and that didnt work. I plugged the laptop stright into the cable modem. The modem says there is activity, but it still wont connect. What is important is the wireless. It says that it is connected to my network, but will not go on the internet. I tired setting it up with the progam installed, but when it asks for my network and password, it says that it is inaccurate. I really really need this to work as soon as I can. If you could help me in any way, please do so.

IPod touch 4th gen will not connect to anything after update. Please help.

Ok, so I haven't updated my 4th gen ipod touch since I bought it, which was well over a year ago. Just recently, apps have started to force me to update to the newest iOS and many updates require it too, so I finally decided to update and get it over with. Well, I synced everything from my ipod and then updated. Well, to my horror after I came back I found out that even though I had CLEARLY synced my apps. They were gone on BOTH my ipod and my computer.
Not to say I was really ticked off or anything, but I had almost 15 GB or so of just apps on my 32 GB itouch. I read somewhere that I can go back and reinstall all my apps but that would be a PAIN. Turns out there aren't many others ways to go about doing it so I was left with little choice. Well, once again, I ran into the problem that absolutely nothing would connect on my ipod touch.
So, I have two problems actually:
1. Is there anyway besides reinstalling apps for me to get back all the apps I had prior to updating my ipod? And in the future, how can I prevent itunes from deleting my apps when I clearly have them synced before updating?
2. Why won't my ipod touch connect to anything wifi related? When I open the app store it just simply loads. And it will continue loading forever; I had it "loading" for about an hour until I decided to come here. Same goes with iCloud, facetime, Safari - just anything that has to do with connecting to my wifi.
Things I've done: I've restarted my ipod once already, I've reset my router as well, and I've also tried to disconnect from my router then reconnect. None of them have worked so far. Any help would be appreciated.

Airport will not connect to any type of internet

A few weeks ago my internet just stopped working. After several self fixing techniques I got frustrated and took it to the Apple store about an hour from my house and spent 4 hours there! Anyway, They realized that I had a stored FTP account name and the account had apparently been disconnected. After trashing all of my files and reinstalling them I assumed the problem was fixed. However, now I have my own wireless router now through a cable modem and it still isn't picking up the wireless OR even recognizing the LAN cable if I plug it directly from the modem into my computer. My PB came with an internal Airport express card. Is the card maybe bad? Is there another way to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm so frustrated and so incredibly confused!

I too have had the same problem with the PB G4 (but not the MB Pro).
I deleted all the keychain certificates (I didn't know which were relevant) and also changed the firewall to allow all connections (I will think about this being a good idea later) I have since turned back to essential services (for the firewall) and hope this will continue to work.
For others: twice I had set the dsl modem and airport extreme to factory settings and that seemed to work. Then both times, about 3 weeks after the internet worked, it would stop again.

I know there is nothing worse than hearing the power down and restart which is always said but.....
Power down and restart, then disconnect your Apple TV from your wireless network, (not turn your wireless network off, but actually reconnect your ATV to the network. Try again.

Hi. I have a MacBook Pro 2008 with the latest version of Leopard, and I have five accounts on this computer. Two of the accounts will not connect to any server in the world. Here's a description of both accounts:

Not an administrator.
Parental Controls is currently off, but it was on during first sightings of this problem, but with no restrictions as to internet usage.
Account 2:
Not an administrator.

Some routers (such as my Netgear) seem to work better if you input your device's MAC address manually while on their online site. That site address should be in the manual and usually starts with something like 192.168.x.x Once on that site, input your Mac's address - a series of numbers and letters i.e. 2f.3c.45.2a.xx.xx (go to Network Preference Pane, select Airport, click on Options: at the bottom it shows "airport ID". I have all my devices listed; with that you can create a special IP address i.e.192.168.1.1, .2, .3, and so on. I've never lost connection using that method.

I installed firefox on my new advent laptop running windows 7 but it will not connect to any websites. I can connect using chrome or ie no problem but i always preferred firefox as a browser, i have tried changing settings and turning off my firewall but still having no luck

Okay, here is my answer to this problem. At least it fixed my problem and firefox now works fine.
Prior to this problem I was running zonealarm (free firewall) everything worked fine until I removed zonealarm free and installed Comodo free firewall. That is when the trouble started. firefox failed and IE kept working. I tried everything posted here nothing worked for me.
I resorted to "REGEDIT" and removed everything in my registry that regedit would allow that had the name of "zonealarm" on it. Didn't even have to reboot my system, firefox worked first thing. Everything else is fine also.
[note: this is not a slam against Lavasoft's ZoneAlarm firewall. It is just that UNINSTALL programs do not always do a thorough job of removing parts of programs in your systems and registry cleaner programs do not pick them up either.]
USE CARE, "REGEDIT" IS A POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS TOOL TO USE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT A SOMEWHAT ADVANCED USER. USE CARE WITH "REGEDIT!"

you have definitely tried the correct steps, all you would need to do now is a back up & restore to factory settings. If after that the issue remains then you would most likely need a replacement unit.

Macbook will not connect period

My macbook will not connect to my wireless internet. In the signal strength it shows that it is connected and receiving a signal, but will not connect to the internet. Other computers in my house are working perfectly fine and connecting to the internet no problem. I have run Diagnostics for the internet on my mac and reset the connection countless times. I have gone to my router settings to make sure everything was fine and it is, I have no clue what to do plz help!!!!

There are couple of things to check out. First, make sure that you are actually connected to your network. If you live in an area that has a lot of wireless signals around, then there is bound to be an un-configured open network that your machine maybe jumping on first. Second, check what i.p. your router is giving you. There are two things this can tell us.
1. If it is in the self assigned range, which I think is 169.254.0.1 – 169.254.254.254, then there is more than likely a failure in the Macbook's and router's DHCP negotiation (which means the router is not giving the macbook local i.p. address.) Do a web search with these words: linksys wrt54g macbook DHCP
Sometimes Linksys and apple don't play fair.
2. If the i.p. is in the 192.168.x.x or 10.0.x.x "range", or subnet to be technical, then make sure all the other computers are on that same subnet. If the macbook is NOT on the same subnet as the others then there is a possibility that there is another network with the same name close to your location. If so, your macbook is more than likely jumping on that network. It is rare that they will show up separate on the airport list. you can eliminate this and even more problems caused by redundant SSID's by just changing the name of your network. If the macbook does have the same subnet, then we are looking at other issues.
Start with this and see how it goes.
